Background:
Dartenelles has served at Hanspur’s Wharf in Riverton for over five decades. He’s had a hand in both the shaping of the guards who serve there and in the production of the riverboats that the shrine/shipyard crafts. The old white-haired Kellid is found of barking out combat tactics to those in his charge. Fortune seems to smile upon those who pay attention. Ill luck follows those who cross the “Watch Captain”. His title is more honorary than official, yet either out of respect or fear, the men listen. Though frail with age, he insists on wearing the uniform of his fellow guardsmen complete with helmet, armored coat, trident, and net. An ardent follow of Hanspur, Dartenelles is sometimes mistaken as a priest, though his power is far from divine. He is accompanied by a river polecat (skunk) of unnatural presence that is said to give the aged man a link to the ancestors of old. The Boatwright enjoys the opportunity that the Pathfinder Society gives him to travel and will go wherever the river will take him (and sometimes further).
