Dariyia gets chills as the bits of semi-local trivia, no doubt filtered through the underworld of Caliphas. "Harrowstone's a bad place," she fills in. "Everyone says it's haunted. But that's not all. It used to be where they sent all the people to be executed. Not like a repeat pickpocket or a guy who broke a window. The evil stuff. The guys who killed for fun, they say," Taking a deep, unsettled breath, she continues. [b]"The fire was the only thing that stopped all those madmen from getting out. The warden and his men held them back. I've never been popular with the law, and the feeling is mutual, but I can't say I don't think those men did the right thing."

Warning, guys: I'm in New England, and in an area that it looks like a lot of people aren't taking the hurricane warning seriously. Power outage is possible, and if it happens I'll likely be offline until Tuesday or Wednesday while waiting for it to come back, so if you don't hear from me that's why.

Dariyia lets her curiosity get the better of her and she comes over to peer at the tomes - and immediately wishes she hadn't. "All right. I'll admit I'd probably be a bit nervous about the Professor's life if I'd caught him reading this stuff. But...I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation." She glances at Tiberious hopefully on this point. "I don't know much about books, but these titles are...uhm..."

Dariyia nods to Tiberious' addition. "I could go to the tavern this evening to try to find things out," she mentions. "Uhh, this town would have one, right? I didn't see it." She just sighs after that. "I'm not sure we'll find much though. I mean, there are bullies like that all over the place. They may have just taken a crazy idea into their heads because the Professor didn't want to bore them with research on slugs that no one but a few academics would care about."

Dariyia listens politely as the whole of the will is read. At each portion she tries to keep her features neutral, but a small frown does show by the end. Guess the old man wasn't as naive as he looked, she thought, though she was careful to keep it to herself. To Kendra, she says "I am sorry for your loss, and to have to impose during such a difficult time. If there's anything I can do, let me know, at least."

Dariyia walks along a bit behind, blushing faintly at the praise. "It was nothing, really," she tries, but it sounds a little flat even to her own ears. Once they reach the house, the pale girl finally pulls off her cloak enough that her features can be seen. Almost impossibly pale, there's an almost elf-like quality to her that hints of some otherworldly ancestry, although she is more than close enough to human to pass for such. Pale blonde hair falls back a bit past her shoulders as she shakes it out a bit, and at the last her eyes are revealed - one being a normal pale blue shade, but the other a deep, unnatural purple. She passes her cloak as quickly as possible, murmuring "I wouldn't mind whatever you have available," to the offer of a drink.

"I...would rather not say what I was doing at the time..." Dariyia decides to begin after a moment. "But it was a late night when I ran across the Professor. He seemed to be having a bit of trouble with some of the locals. I don't think they were expecting someone to try to interrupt bare handed, so when I came in it surprised them and they ran. To this day I don't know what that was about entirely, but he was grateful. We had dinner at one of the inns somewhere the next night and talked a bit. We didn't meet again after that, and I admit to being somewhat surprised to being summoned here. But I must have made an impression..." The girl shrugs helplessly, being very careful to make sure her eyes are concealed by the cloak, as if ashamed of her appearance.

The last to arrive for the funeral is a young woman, about five and a half feet tall, wearing a long dark cloak that would almost be a cliche for 'mysterious stranger' if not for the setting and circumstance. Underneath, you can see a darker blue outfit, with a green vest and leggings. A pair of black leather gloves and boots completes the ensemble. When she arrives she nods to everyone, as if afraid to look anyone in the eyes for too long. "Hello. My name's Dariyia. I assume this is...well...."

After 10 hours sleep and a bit of poking around, I found a copy of the Playtest Ninja here. Key differences between the playtest and final: 1) Ninja Tricks no longer get a free use per day - if there is a Ki cost, it always costs ki. 2) Forgotten Trick costs 2 points to activate, plus an additional point to use the 'remembered' trick.

I think the playtest version has been depublished so you'll have to wait a week for Ultimate Combat. For the time being, easiest to just say it's a Rogue archetype replacing Trapsense with Poison use an adding Shuriken prof. (There is more, but that's the gist). The outfit is listed twice becuase she has two. One is worn over her armor, the other is in her backpack.

I am NOT a freak...okay, so my nails are a little long....and I have one purple eye...and I can see magic....but I'm NOT! *Pout* I'll have a full stat block up by morning. ^^; EDIT: And I think that's everything in the profile. Or at least, most things you'll need to reference - I'll get a PDF with everything linked when I'm done.

Hello. ^^ Ata, is Changeling all right for a race, BTW? Right now (and likely for much of the next 12 hours or so) I've got to get going so I can run an event at the LGS, but after that I should be able to get the nitty-gritty done within, say, a few hours. Just need to fire up Herolab, luckily.

(Sia here) I actually have this "ninja" in mechanics only ready to go for a CC game. The basic idea is reskinning as sorcerous talents that have been tuned towards stealthy 'tricks' rather than the heavy training in a monastary somewhere.
Assuming this is still recruiting, I'd like to submit my Changeling Ninja here (something the likes of which I never thought I would say again after high school). I can change race and class to human/rogue without messing up the concept too much, at least mechanics wise. Background cut for space: One more waif on the streets of Caliphas, Dariyia was exactly the sort one would expect to number among the city's frequent disappearances.
As a young child she had an unearthly air about her. Her features seemed unusually pale, with hair that seemed to shimmer in the moonlight. But she started to wear her bangs over her eyes to conceal her most striking feature - while her right eye was merely an unusually piercing green, her left glittered like a blood-red ruby. Even more shocking were the things she could do at a young age. She seemed to appear and disappear much like a ghost. She sometimes seemed to understand what people were saying, even if they spoke in languages she had never heard before. And when she talked to people, it was almost as if her words wove a spell over them that they didn't notice until later. In a country like Ustalav, the strange and different usually has a low tolerance. Dariyia's family probably showed a bit more tolerance than most, but one day, the inevitable came. She was informed that she was a foundling, taken in and brought to the city as a baby and then raised as one of theirs. That night she was told to pack up and get out of the house. The streets of Caliphas are not safe at night, and for a young girl it seemed they would be a death sentence. But Dariyia was a reasonably smart girl, and she took to life on the streets with her unusual talents the way many might take to a trade. Even better, her ability to manipulate seemed to lie only within her, leaving her targets unable to detect the deception with magic later. The life of a common grifter and cutpurse was interrupted only by a recent event. As Professor Lorrimor made his last journey through the capital, Dariyia finally made what should have been a career-ending mistake by targeting him. Instead, in the night the hungry spawn of a vampire came upon the both of them as she was in the middle of her scam. Only a timely warning from Dariyia, who spotted it first, saved the both of them from its' claws. It seemed thanks enough at the time that he didn't report her to the authorities, but some months later a courier found her with an unusual summons. With dreams of wealth and luxury in her heart, Dariyia abandoned life in Caliphas to answer the summons. She could always go back if it turned out the professor had the last laugh.
Applying with this Changeling Ninja in both the games currently taking applications. I can switch out to either Human or Rogue is you prefer, although I like the Ninja for this character as a "Rogue with slightly more mystical bent to their abilities." Background cut for space:

EDIT: Also, regarding the Rich Parents thing: You have to pay close attention to the pages marked with the fan-created content logo. Rich Parents is roundly disliked by a certain portion of the GMs out there. Rich Parents, like a lot of traits now in the APG and Traits supplement, first appeared in the 3.5 Second Darkness PG. So it's not against the rules of the PFSRD wiki to slap a "fan-created conversion" on it even though the text is identical between editions. And "conversion" and "new content" have the same logo over there.
Applying as a Changeling Ninja (from the AP and from the Ultimate Combat playtest). I can quickly adapt to Human or Rogue if needed, just feel the class/race abilities 'fit' better this way.
