Dara Shadeshard, daughter of Hilda Stonecask and thief-turned-locksmith Korgo Shadeshard. At an early age, Dara was always able to get into anything she wished. A talent she inherited from her Father, her Mother would always say. As she got older, her keen eye turned into another talent, archery. A skill that her uncle, Choztu, greatly encouraged her to develop. And under his guidance, she did.
When she came of age, Dara decided to join Abbhen's military. During basic training, her capability for infiltration earned her notice with the Anti-Cult Taskforce, a government sanctioned group waging a shadow war against the various cults that appear in Abbhen. Most of which the general public doesn't know about. She found she had a natural gift for the work.
Dara's induction into the Taskforce didn't go so smoothly however. As a prerequisite, she had to learn a bit of magic. Like many Dwarves of Abbhen, she had her reservations about magic, but that wasn't what was stopping her from learning the simple trick. What was stopping her was the discovery of a rare Dwarven power that made her innately resistant to magic. It took time, but she was finally able to overcome the ability and learn a simple telekinetic spell.
Over the next several years, Dara had infiltrated several cults enclaves. Most, were harmless, but some proved to be quite troublesome. One in particular, the Cult of Raven proved quite difficult to root out once and for all. Every time they thought it was completely destroyed, another enclave would be discovered.
Recent years had been quiet, which was good because a someone new had joined the family, Alaina Steele. The two hit it right off and became more like sisters than cousins.
When the time came for Alaina to leave, Dara wanted to make sure her 'little sister' would be safe. So she requested some well deserved time off. However, having heard about recent events in Southtown, her superiors quickly turned it into a mission for the Dwarf, revealing Marcus' true reason why he had left, and ordered her to keep an eye on Alaina in case powers began to manifest, but not to tell her. They would send word ahead to the Altiendel Military expecting her arrival.
Dara left not knowing if she should disobey orders and tell Alaina, or keep silent and pray she never found out.
