Dano "Duke" Ko'oe is a fisherman-extroirdinaire-turned-adventurer from the Azure District. His parents, immigrants from the nearby island tribes, raised him according to their tradition which gave Dano a deep respect for the sea and somewhat of a laid-back attitude. Growing up around sailors and ships also gave him a breadth of worldly experience that otherwise made up for his lack of formal education. Recently he has earned himself a reputation as a reliable, albeit reckless, hunter with a taste for the unorthodox. This is a point of great pride for Dano, so much so that he tries to encourage its growth at every turn (including retelling of a trip on which he leapt from his vessel armed with nothing but a fishing spear to pull in a passing Tiger Fish).
Dano is tall, muscular man with tan skin, long black hair, and blue eyes. He wears tattoos indicative of his tribal heritage on his chest and arms and loose, breezy clothing when not at work. He fights primarily with a spear although his background as a hunter and fisherman has given a thorough understanding of traps and how to use them. Curiously enough, he doesn't cast a shadow ever since he lost it in a bet with a conjurer. He has yet to win it back which annoys the hot-headed youth to no end.
