Daliya grunted in pain as the spell swamped her. She let out a sharp shout...but the yell of pain was swallowed by the silence. With her magic mostly unusuable so long as she couldn't speak, Daliya charged in recklessly.
Glad she was already larger than the average Druid, Daliya prepaed to attack.
Shrugging, and making a more worried expression - after all, why would there be a silence spell on this area? - Daliya used her abilities to grow larger and grab the door. After a moment her form bulged even more, divine power rippling through her frame.
Daliya moved towards the locked gate, looking to see if any of the others had a more...subtle solution than growing to gigantic size and ripping it from its hinges.
Daliya advanced down the passage, keeping an eye out for sentries and traps.
Well, they were healed up and as likely to succeed now as ever, so Daliya began to advance down the passage. "Which way to the Shrine?" she murmured to the Captain.
"If it becomes too much we'll simply need to withdraw," Daliya mused, "But removing that shrine will probably make a more traditional attack easier."
"The path ahead seems clear, if we can avoid the need to return," Daliya reports. It would be better to advance, but...the poison was impressively toxic.
Daliya quickly took a peek to make sure the way was clear now the big bloody beast was out the way.
For lack of a more exciting option, Daliya tossed out her last Snowball.
Well, this thing was vicious. Daliya called up a Snowball, hoping to at least aggravate it.
Like a poor quality kebab.
Since attacking the thing with physical attacks would end...poorly, Daliya used the Fly magic to keep her distance and cast instead. She instead tried to Entangle the thing.
"Impressive," Daliya noted. "Any precautions we can take before we head up?" Perhaps a first wave of summoned creatures that could fly and were tough might keep it busy for a while so they could join the fight a moment later.
"I would suggest using the wand, since that way we're not caught in two halves if soemthing attacks, but it's up to the captain."
"Shall we use some charges from the plundered wand?" Daliya suggested. A faster, quieter approach seemed like a good plan, and it wasn't using resources they'd been counting on.
"Well, he would have been welcome to it. Shall we continue?" Daliya headed past the giant pile of calamari, or whatever an anemone was once it was dead.
Waiting in her position, Daliya tried a spell.
...but that's a good reason not to post. But I'll toss a snowball at it and see what happens.
Making sure she was in a position to block the monster should it attack, Daliya waited for the others to attack.
Whatever works.
Sorry, my memory is terrible - do we have stuff to negate the whole -2 to hit per five feet of water thing?
I doubt it'll be easy. I imagine it's been put here to guard the entrance we're trying to use. Anything else we can feed it? A summoned creature of sufficient size might be able to distract it for a while, although she disliked doing it.
Ironically for someone of her nature, Daliya wasn't actually that good at identifying the natural world.
Daliya raised an eyebrow at the kiss, but at least Krom was smart enough not to try it with her. Instead, she increased her size in preparation of the attack.
"That should be enough to keep the guard...beasts...off our keel for a while, at least," Daliya commented at the pile of shark flesh. Shark meat needed to be well prepared otherwise it wasn't a fun thing to eat.
Still here, but haven't had anything to add.
"We can stop and hunt a day or two before we reach the island. Maybe dredge up a shark or something tempting. To a sea serpent."
"I'd prefer to ruin his plans, break his fleet, scatter his crew and crush his spirit. I'd suggest the tower first, as a result." Daliya shrugged.
"Better to destroy his attack before it can be launched, but we should prepare for the attack as well. It's possible that it's already on route or the ships involved aren't docked at the fortress."
Daliya nodded and passed the book over. "One thing to note - if we can get these four back to the open sea, they can be re-rigged. Might be worth the effort, later."
Although she spent a moment looking at the statuette for 'tips', Daliya focused on the journal and flicked it to the last page first. She hated those stories where people read all the entries up to the last, where the vital information that could have saved them from the disaster now happening was.
Daliya scans the area. She was pretty observant, after all.
"As wise a plan as most," Daliya said, although slightly dubiously. "I'll follow along to help if needed." She glanced again at the ships, pondering how to tow them a moment longer, before heading to punch a manta.
Daliya scanned the ships to see if any were named, and failing that to see which seemed the most recent. She also looked for damage to the hull - if there was none these ships might be salvagable, if they could work out how to get them back to sea. Masts, rigging and sail could be provided, and four additional vessels would make one hell of an addition to there little fleet. ...of course, she was also looking for whatever dragged them here. This didn't seem like somewhere that would be undefended.
"I have two Water Breathing spells prepared. I can cast one on myself and one on someone else." Daliya shrugged. "Or I can keep one as a back up in case someone does dispell it."
"It can't hurt...well, most of us." Assuming it worked again.
"It suggests an intelligence behind the attacks, one that is adjusting to the new presence." Daliya murmured as she considered the problem. "It'll probably be waiting for us to head back to land."
I'm around, after a fashion, but fairly blank brained. I'm better at replying to actions that instigating them for now.
"I don't think I have the spells to track him right now," Daliya mused.
Daliya nodded. "Not surprising. They're unpleasantly virulent." She gave them a quick look over to make sure none of them had been infected themselves. The last thing she wanted was to send more potential ghouls down to the ship.
