Male Human Cleric 2

Talking low to his companions, "We should keep a watch over the remaining children. It seems that they were not kidnapped merely by chance, but for something specific, although it is possible that only the child whom Flask abducted had whatever specific trait or quality was being sought after..."

I am just not 'feeling' this character, and starting out in media res has thrown me a bit. I'm gonna drop out, but I'll hang out and run Daegan until you find a replacement Cleric. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I presume that, if nothing else, we would take anything of value with us?

Daegan would prefer to make sure that no armor or weapons are left behind for the slavers allies. No reason to make their lives any easier, even if slavery isn't illegal around these parts.

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan waits until the Azer is truly dead, before calling upon Iomedae's grace to fill the room with healing energy.

1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 to all in 30 ft.

Male Human Cleric 2

To the crying child, Daegan offers a clumsy smile, "And it's home you'll be seeing again soon, young one. That's why we are here, to bring you home."

Borat's words, on the other hand, trouble him. "Why are you happy that a bad man took the other boy away? Would he be happy if the bad man had taken you instead?" He attempts to coax the boy to speak of the stolen child, hoping to learn if there was something special about him that may have made him valuable, such as rich parents who might pay a ransom.

For a moment, he considers attempting to staunch the Azer's wounds, to question him as to whom he is making all of these weapons for, but realizes that the group has no way of transporting the metal dwarf's probably-quite-heavy body to justice...

Male Human Cleric 2

AoO on Azer
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Daegan will continue to flank the metal dwarf, harrying at him with his blade, attempting to distract him so that Bron can more effectively pierce his defenses. +2 for flanking, another +2 if he successfully Aids Other. He continues to hold back, fighting defensively, mindful of the creatures punishing strength.
-4 to hit, +2 AC, for a total of 18.

Aid Other roll
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Daegan winces at the mighty smash and...(do you still want to aid another?)

If I can do so while Fighting Defensively, sure. Want me to reroll the Aid Other attempt?

Male Human Cleric 2

Recognizing that this metal-skinned dwarf is difficult to strike, Daegan devotes his energies to assisting his allies, harrying the slaver from behind to attempt to give others the advantage to strike true.

Aid Other to Bron

to hit AC 10 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

On his next attack, if the flanking bonus remains, Bron will get +4 to hit.

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan won't be able to heal again for quite some time, so he moves around the metal dwarf to distract it's attention ( and provide Bron a flanking bonus), taking a swing at it's back.

Longsword attack, including +1 for Bless 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Longsword damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan takes a step back to avoid the flame creature's strike, and leans down to call upon the goddess to clease Bron's wounds.

"Iomedae, lend your strength to this fallen champion, rewarding the valor he has shewn by giving him time to prove his bravery yet again."

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 healing
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 recharge

Daegan rebukes himself for allowing this to come to pass. Six seconds pass while he takes a meaningless swing with his weapon, only for Bron to suffer enough damage to fell an ox!

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan attempts to mark any unusual items of gear or clothing up 'Flask' or the kidnapped boy as they rise out of sight, on the off chance you can attempt to magically locate such items later. But he considers such fantasies secondary to maintaining focus on the fight before them, and calling upon some healing magics before Bron falls...

Male Human Cleric 2

Oh my! Sorry Bron! Five posts up, you had taken only 1d6+1 damage (which hadn't even been rolled out yet)! I take one action and now you're down by 22! Oops. Time to cure something, methinks, if it isn't too late...

Noting multiple blows converging on Bron, Daegan says loudly, "Shielde high warriors!" hoping that the message is conveyed.

Male Human Cleric 2

Spellcraft 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Daegan moves next to Stone and takes a swing at the living flame creature, shouting over the din as he does, "Flask! What treachery is this? Release your enchantment on the boy, or face justice with the other slavers!"

Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Bron will step into the building and take a two-handed warhammer swing at the closest bad guy.

1d20 + 6; 1d8 + 4

Reminder, Bron gets +1 to both attack and damage for magic weapon and another +1 to attack for bless.

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan will attempt to move in front of the blonde dude (yeah, great directions, there) and see if he can hurl a dagger at the gnoll that will be diagonally across from him through the door.

If so 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Damage 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan will move up to the door and attempt to assist Bron in busting it open.

Str check (to Aid) 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Male Human Cleric 2

As Bron is moving forward, Daegan proceeds with the bless and move action outlined a few posts up.

Male Human Cleric 2

Initiative 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Daegan waits to see if the others are advancing, and if so, assuming letters going up and numbers going across from left to right, and that Daegan is starting in 14-D, he'll move up and to the left, then straight towards the building after casting his bless spell (single move action only, due to spell casting), ending in 12-I (6 spaces down and 1 to the right of the door).

Male Human Cleric 2

The blessing cast upon Bron's warhammer, Daegan invokes the goddess of valor once again, for a more widely-affecting blessing upon these champions against the unrighteous. "Ciente Invictus."

Bless spell now. Bron's warhammer will have a +1 enhancement bonus for 1 minute. Bless will give a further +1 morale bonus to hit and saves vs. fear. Magic Weapon is down for 5 minutes, Bless for 30.

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan continues reciting the beginnings of his incantation in his head, waiting for the moment to release the magic upon Bron's warhammer, gripping his holy symbol hard enough to cause his knuckles to whiten, in his state of concentration.

Male Human Cleric 2

"Hold your breath?" Daegan suggests. He moves next to Bron, "I am preparing to call down Iomedae's favor upon your hammer, but it will only last a matter of moments, so I will cast it when we move to engage the enemy."

Ready action to cast magic weapon on Bron's warhammer, giving him an additional +1 to hit and damage. With his next action, he'll cast bless, if possible, giving every ally within 50 ft. a +1 morale bonus to hit and saves vs. fear.

Male Human Cleric 2

At Bron's suggestion, Daegan nods, "A worthy plan, but I suspect that Stone might be even better equipped to enact it. He is already unarmored, after all, and he seems to move with the requisite stealth and athleticism."

Male Human Cleric 2

"Iomedae's blessing will be upon us, as long as we coordinate our attack." Daegan says confidently.

"Give me a moment to prepare just before we strike, that I might invoke her favor upon this righteous cause. We should move swiftly, before someone spots us and they think to hold the children hostage..."

Male Human Cleric 2

Seeing that Bron intends to change armor, Daegan steps forward and helps him remove his scale mail, and don the new chain shirt.

Normally 1 minute to remove scale and 1 minute to don chain shirt, cut to half because of someone helping.

"The less time you spent out of armor in this uncertain place, the better," he says simply, working quickly, but attempting to set down the armor pieces carefully, so as not to make an excess of noise.

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan grips his holy symbol so tightly that his knuckles whiten, calling upon his faith to Iomedae to send a surge of righteousness rocking through the bodies of those around him.

Channel Energy heals 1d6 ⇒ 5 damage.

Male Human Cleric 2

since I missed the beginning of the bugbear fight, do any of us need healing? Speak up, or get nuffin!

Male Human Cleric 2

Daegan mutters a prayer to Iomedae to open his eyes to the world beyond that of men. detect magic

He puts his sword away and reaches down to pick up the morningstar dropped by the bugbear, glancing at the glistening chainmail on the leader as he does so, to see if it has the glow of magic.

"I cannot command these others, but I will not strike you down, Blacktooth." he says, staring directly into the bugbears eyes. "There are few safe places for your people, if you continue to live life as you have until now. You could look at this moment as a gift from the gods, to no longer live life with one eye open, waiting for your allies to take what is yours by force and treachery."

He looks down at the fallen bugbears, pointedly, "I know that your kind are strong and fierce, skilled hunters and trackers, and that you regard our kind as weak and soft." He thumps his fist against his armor, "And yet, we are not so weak or soft, after all. Perhaps it is a mistake to turn your nose up at the kind of life you could lead among our kind, where your strength and hunting skills could be put to good use, and earn you strong wine, fresh meat and soft bedding. You could be a tracker, a hunter or a bodyguard, pitting your skills and strength against others. Perhaps you could even become an arena fighter, and earn new glories every day, to the roar of a crowd."

He hands the bugbear back his morningstar. "Either choose a new path, or know that you will die by the blades and spells of those weaker than yourself."

"If you wish to run, go that way." Daegan finishes, pointing away from the smoke in the distance. "If you try to warn them, it only means that you'll die with them when we bring the justice of the sword."

Daegan is attempting to persuade the bugbear to change it's ways, offering him a chance to fight alongside the local people, instead of against them. But he's also offering him a chance to just run away, which he expects is the best he'll get from the brute.

To the others he says, "We should move with haste. It sounds like at least one of the children is sorely testing the patience of his captors with his fighting spirit..."

Male Human Cleric 2

Sorry for the delay, was trying to catch up on some old posts to get a feel for the character.

“You are offered this one chance to redeem a life wasted, bugbear. We seek children who have been stolen away in the night.” Daeg says, the tip of his blade resting lightly on the towering brutes’ chest. “If you know anything that could lead us to these children, know that the answer we seek may buy your life. But first, tell me your name. Show me that you are a man, capable of choosing his own path, not just an animal, unable to avoid his fate.”

Diplomacy roll, followed by Sense Motive to determine the truth of the bugbear’s reply.

16 Diplomacy, 13 Sense Motive.
