There are a lot of different critters wandering around here, and a couple of us are not doing so well, so it might be best if you accompany us to the entrance.

What is your next move?

Argor: You vaguely recall rumors, that particularly evil wizards sometimes come back as a being made of worms and refuse, but you don't remember any specific details about such a transformation.

The strange blue creatures took away one of the miners that was with us, other than that, no. All we have seen is the blue creatures, some giant insects and their leader. He appears to be some sort of wizard, but his body is made of worms. He infected us with something using giant bugs that look like cockroaches.

Sorry for the delay. I have had a crazy week.

The room you enter is bare of all furnishings. There are four people in the rooom in desheveled clothes. Thes must be some of the miners that have disappeared. They look to be in a sorry state, possibly ill.

A young man looks up as you enter. Thank Erastil. I thought I would die in here. Are you here to rescue us?

The glowing items are hidden within two of the mattresses. You find two scrolls and a potion of cure light wounds.

Argor you notice some small auras coming from a couple of the mattresses, but no others.

Rois finds no traps on the door. You hear slight shuffling coming from the room on the other side of the door.

I'm without internet access at home right now for some reason. They're supposed to come by Saturday and fix. The hallway north leads to a door. In addition to the weapons rack, there are several mattresses on the floor in this room, and a crude shrine. Any actions?

Rois' slash kills the last remaining mite. A quick search of the guards reveals each has a sickle, 10 darts, an unholy symbol, and a key. All of the keys are the same.

The room is lttered with personal effects, and the weapon rack contains a medium silver longsword.

Argor spots nothing of interest.

Kynrael's attack is slighly overzealous, and the mite practically explodes from the smahing hammer strike leaving a lump of blue flesh and crumpled armor.

Pork's arrow strikes Mite 3, and he grunts in pain. Rois' slash ends the life of Mite 4.

The standing mite guard attacks Kynrael.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

dmg 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Kynrael's swing smashes the beetle.

Round 2. There is one guard left, and two that have been sleeping, but have started to awaken. They will not get actions until round 3.

Kynrael's move

The mited falls in deadly swing from Rois. The critical didn't confirm, but the damage was enough to take it down anyway.

The standing mite yells for the other two mites two wake, orders something unintelligable at the flash beetle, and takes full defense.

Pork's arrow pierces the beetles shell killing it instantly.

The ray hits the beetle.

You open the door to the room with no difficulty. No traps are set. The north and south walls of this room are lined with small piles of discarded cloth in rows no more than four feet long. Images of vermin destroying civilization decorate the wall, while at the east there is a haphazardly piled weapon rack.

Two mites are stationed with beetles at the north end of the room, while two mites sleep on the discarded cloth to the south.

Beetles 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Rois 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Kynrael 1d20 ⇒ 10
Argor 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Map

The hallway outside of this room, completely encircles it. There is a door on the east, west and north as well as the door you came through to the south.

I'm just waiting for a decision on what your next actions will be. I'll try to remember to post an updated map of this room this afternoon.

You recognize the language they speak as undercommon.

The language that you have heard chittered occasionally is unfamiliar to you. A lingusitics check of 15 will give you an idea as to what language they speak.

Good luck with the move.

Pork, you see nothing of interest in the pit, other than what appears to be piles of refuse at the bottom.

The pillars appear to just be decprative pillars, with no specific representation. You notice the foul smell coming from the pit. It appears they are using it to dispose of garbage.

The doors are not locked, and you can enter ducking.

You open the door and duck through the entrance.

This octaganol room is dominated by a large pit and four evenly spaced columns. The columns are segmented like the body of a giant worm or centipede. Broken wood, broken stone and twisted metal lies in piles about the floor. There are four solid doors into this room offset from the points of the compass. By the north pillar, there is a wheelbarrow filled with various garbage and refuse. There are two mites, smaller than the others, sorting through the refuse. The two mites see Kynrael as enters the north door, and run to the northeast corner cowering.

The mite staggers and falls as the arrow hits.

I assume you search his body.

On the mite you find a masterwork flail, short bow, chain shirt, light steel shield, a potion of cure light wounds, and two vials of antivenom. The scorpion is saddled with one of the exotic saddles you saw in the room earlier.

Looks like it's Kynrael, then Rois and Pork to go.

The ray hits the mite, and he flinches, but continues standing.

The attack misses. The mite shows fear for a brief second, but gains his resolve and swings again at Kynrael.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

miss

What? You have a life away from the computer? Unacceptable!

Glad you didn't bail.

Yeah I have no problem with that. It's only been a few days.

Both attacks miss.

Go ahead and go. We'll assume he stays in the same spot.

It looks like Kynrael, Rois and Pork are next in order.

Rois' swing falls wide, but Pork's arrow hits the mite in the chest. He continues fighting, taking a swing at Kynrael.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

He still rattled from the previous two blows and the flail almost knocks him off balance.

Argor's ray misses, but Kynrael swing strikes true. The mite still stands.

The scorpions leg buckle under it, and it dies from Rois' sword slash, Pork's arrow strikes the mite as it dismounts the dead scorpion and draws its flail.

End of round. The mite had its bow readied.

Ride Check1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

The knight flinches from the blow, but remains in the saddle.

I forgot to roll initiative for the mount, but will give it the same initiative as the mite.

The ray misses striking the wall behind the knight.

I'm not going to do true fumbles the dropping of the weapon by Rois was just for dramatic effect, there no actual consequences.

As Rois reaches the group, a mite mounted on a scorpion rounds the corner. He yells something in a language you don't understand.

Just a heads up, I will be out of town again this weekend, so no posts Saturday or Sunday. Probably not until Monday evening. This should be the last trip I taked for at least a month or two.

As you turn to walk back to the group, you drop your dagger on the ground and the sound of it echoes through the hallway. You hear a familiar chiitering sound approaching you down the hallway.

I'm at work, so I don't have access to edit the map. When I get home, I'll do initiative and put up a new map.

As you walk down the corridor and make the first turn to the left, you see a door on the inner wall. Listening at the door, you hear a loud grinding mechanism of some sort just as it comes to a halt.

You open the door and enter a hallway that appears to circle a room.

Map

Both doors look old, but in good repair, and to be made of the same type of wood.

Forgot to post map of room. There is door at the western end.

Map

Argor:
The board has three drawings on it, a scorpion, a spider, and insect-like creature that you don't recognize. Underneath each picture is a tally of some sort. The spider has the most marks, but there is no indication as to what those marks mean.

Pork:
You are unable to determine whether or not the flesh came from the miners.

Rois:
You detect no traps

You approach the entry way, and the lantern shows you a filthy room. Scraps of bone and flesh litter the floor of this expansive rectangular chamber. Along the walls are loops of rope on hooks and strange leather saddles. The west wall has a small chalk board with writing on it.

Almost forgot.
You each get 100 experience for that encounter. What action do you want to take now, go into the open room, or one of the doors?

Argor:
You recognize it as a feather token, a minor magical item. It can be used once, to create an anchor to moor a water craft and hold it immobile for one day.
