Hi Rev. Yeah I'd think it better if someone took over old Rusty. I am so sorry to do this to you.

I was going to have the prisoner you were to rescue show up and help you fight the troglodyte leader.

Guys, I'm am so very very sorry for leaving you hanging. My life is just tumultuous at this point even just to run PBP games, which I enjoy and love. Again, sorry.

Oops! Kol is still up.

Hi guys, I'm back and 100%. But I'll have to roll out the new games I have planned gradually. Sea to Shore is first up, and I hope to have the introductory post up tomorrow morning.

I plan on getting to have Hollow's Last Hope later this week.

Round 2 begins

Combat Map

Lycia bounds out of the stairwell and away from the troglodyte and weaves a spell ...

Trog lord will save 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 - FAIL

Kol swings at the reptile-man, missing closely.

Delphey moves closer to the action, throws at the crocodile, but misses.

Dazed, the troglodyte does not attack.

The crocodile moves up and snaps at Kol ...

Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 - HIT
Damage 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Kol falls to the floor, unconscious ...

I'm back and 100% again. Tremendous apologies for the delay, folks.

Sorry, still sick.

Sorry, I'm sick. Will have to wait a while.

Sorry, still sick.

Sorry, I'm not feeling well. I'll update tonight.

Sorry, I'm not feeling well. We'll start Saturday, hopefully.

Lycia and Delphey unleash their salvo. Though their shots are close, the master troglodyte manages to dodge both.

With a ear-splitting roar Kol charges and brings his heavy blade down on the reptillian, who fails to escape injury this time.

Suprise round ends. Round 1 begins!

Combat Map

Rolling Initiative for Kol 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Troglodyte 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Croc 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

That's right, you can charge it.

Corrected map.

The large troglodyte ducks into the hall, leaping over the crocodile.

"HUMANS? AGAIN? Have they no understanding of private property!? This time you'll get to eat them whole, Snapjaw!"

It casts a spell on the croc, then dashes right into your trap.

Delphey and Kol get a surprise attack against either the crocodile or the troglodyte. Lycia gets a surprise attack against the trog only.

Combat Map

I'll choose to roll against Bluff.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

I'm looking forward to it, Kyran.

D'oh !

We're starting on June 1st.

If you keep an eye on my latest game you'll have a good idea when I'm going to start another.

Would you allow the whirling frenzy barbarian variant be allowed either rage or whirling frenzy is fine just curious if I could use that one instead up to you.

I'll pass on the whirling frenzy variant if that's OK.

Corrected Map

Delphey pokes her head out the top of the stairs. She sees that the four wings of this level are completely open, forming one great, cross-shaped chamber with arched ceilings. The decayed remnants of a carpet run from the doorways at the end of each wing, meeting in the center. A large, throne-like chair stands in the middle of the eastern wing next to a big chest. To the west, a large troglodyte stands on a balcony. It seems to be watching the scenery. Behind it is an alligator. Neither has yet noticed Delphey.

Map

You have less than thirty minutes left with it.

Lycia leads her fellow Pathfinders up to another door.

Sounds of movement can be heard from the behind the door. And the unmistakable stench of troglodyte can be smelt.

A fresh breeze can be felt from further up the stairs, probably from the roof level of the tower.

"Now you will take the tablets back to our experts in Absalom where they will learn even more about the ancient Azlanti languages. And though meddling in the affairs of nations is of no interest to the Society, by defeating Du Moire you have saved Andoran and Cheliax from entering a horribly pointless war. Congratulations, my friends!"

You retrieve the bolt that missed. The one that hit is bent beyond repair.

The wearied heroes row back to the docks and make their way back to the Tail. There, Osprey leads them to a private booth, where the tablets are laid out and examined.

"These are forgeries of the ancient tablets that were used in rites during Old Azlant’s height. But the originals are long lost, and so even fakes are of priceless value. The previous owner was one Myraxus Threeshadows, a noted but aging sage and mystic. When Darsielle invaded Myrax's village days ago, he murdered the wizard and took the tablets."

Now that the altars have been cleared, the stairs up beckon ...

BTW, I also assumed you would be using max starting hp. If not I can edit the profile.

Max for everyone.

I'll look into it.

If the GM wants to know more let me know where I can send an email. Hope thats ok. :)

That's fine. But can you choose a portrait for your character alias?

The ruddy-faced barkeep interrupts the heroes' conversation.

"Well, I don't know what all this talk about tides and darkness is about, and I don't care. I just know you if you didn't save Yargos, my business would be ruined! Here, a round of free ale for you all!"

The other one is a scroll of shatter.

Yargos takes the book and goes over to a burning brazier. Reluctance painfully visible on his aged, weary face, he tosses it in.

"It was the most important thing I had ever discovered. But instead of doing any good, all that came of it was bad."

The one from the white altar is a scroll of shield.

"Meet me again at the Tails," Osprey says, smiling enigmatically. He then turns into a sea hawk - his namesake - and flies away.

:)

Only the scrolls are truly magical.

Did you have any background preferences - i.e., locals or just-passing-thru types?

It's up to you.

Would prefer meaning you could be persuaded to allow those two. Cause I had an interesting history thought up for a Tiefling and an Assimir, but if it is to much of a no then that's cool too.

OK, if you've got a good story I won't deny that. Go use those races.

Along with the now-vanquished ghouls , the hold contains a small padlocked chest of wood and hardened leather. Inside, wrapped in moldering velvet, rest four tablets each crafted from a different material— copper, gold, lead, and black slate.

"Yes, these are the tablets we are looking for," says Osprey, obviously pleased. "Well done. And may I suggest we all leave this ship before the lacedons regain their mobility."

The meaning of this room soon becomes clear to Lycia. It is a temple dedicated to Nethys, the god of magic, in both of his aspects: protection and destruction. The writings on the walls are quotes from Nethys’s holy book.

On the black altar of destruction there are silver services including a scroll. A similar set of services are on the white altar, including another scroll.
