The Man in purple and gold walks to the injured lady. Seraphina takes a defensive stance. The wizard turns his attention to the body, then to his hip. He withdraws from a scroll case a long sheet of thick parchment. Seraphina recognizes the spell well enough to let him He complete the incantation and the woman opens her eyes and sits up. Her burn marks mend and her skin color returns to a healthy pink. "Thank you, oh thank you great wizard." She lowers her eyes and bows her head. The mage turns to Sera and presents a look good enough?
"Leprechauns, hun?" The eldest warguard says as he looks around the tavern. Sense Motive DC 20:
The Wizard in purple and gold squints in concern at the "white mask" uttered from Maelius. Then goes right back to stone expression. The Wizard points four, Mael, Sera, Osmundus, and Besh. The guards create a two man perimeter and order the four to step out side. They plan to escort them.
Sorry, I was busy this week. The guards stand on either side of the open portcullis. As you walk through they glare at you, as they always do. You are emediately met by beggars off to the side. Not intrusive, but an eye sore. The stretch of row houses that blocks your vision are dilapidated. Despite all this, there streets are covered in bright colored streamers and the homes have tattered but bright banners for each of their own house.
If I leave out something like that I am o.k. with you guys taking liberty of adding your own stuff. As long as it doesn't conflict with something already laid down. Besh already said it was a lady, so now it's a lady. That's all. "Who caused the Arcane magic?" The older man in armor calls out in the inn. All five of you are in the inn now.
Do you guys read the posts? I said they are strangers Maelius. I said the leprechaun ran away. I am not mad. But, it is hard to conduct the direction of the story when details are ignored. I don't want to sound like a jerk, either. I like this campaign and I like your characters a lot. But, the fact that they are strangers is important. Just make sure you read the posts carefully.
Cougar! Not a panther. Panthers are jaguars, pumas are cougars. However, if I were an English teacher grading your paper, I'd give you a 5 for voice, cause it was funny. Also, Osmundus, the leprechaun and puma ran into the jungle. They are gone, it's a clue, not an encounter. By the way, Besh called out that it's a lady who is hurt, Seraphina. Osmundus doesn't recognize the mask at all, either. After Aelia helps bring the injured lady in, Seraphina quickly stops the bleeding and covers the burn, then she checks the pulse of the patient who is too weak to respond, but it pain responsive. Besh brings water and using a cloth, Seraphina dabs it on the patients lips. Checking over the patient rigorously, Seraphina sees her stabilize. Osmundus and Maelius are still outside. They see Two very large guards in Naxos Armor approach the pub. Trailing behind them is a man in the gold and purple robes of a wizard from Attica. These are strangers to this small village.
Osmundus recognizes the woodland creature as well as the animal.
Osmundus:
The man is conversing with a Leprechaun who is riding a puma. Leprechauns are mischievous, but not evil. They tend to really enjoy messing with people who roam their forest. Rarely do Leprechauns come out, but perhaps it was for gold, for they greatly treasure it. You are aware that Leprechauns don't grant wishes, but they may do a bit for some gold. The funny looking creature is about the size of a halfling sitting on a large cat of some sort. He has a bulbous face and wears a funny top hat. A tweed jacket and he sees the ones of you coming out of the inn. The Creature flees towards the woods. The man, alerted by the jump of his woodland companion turns to face you. He steps towards you and as he gets close enough you can see he is wearing a mask. A white mask that covers his face. Little eye holes allow him to see, with two nose holes right next to each other. A tiny, strait line for a mouth is painted on. He stops and stairs at you. Then a light beams from the sky. A vibrant blue and white pillar slams down on the man. It lifts up and the man is gone. Maelius and Osmunus, make a knowledge local check.
You reach town, safe and sound. wink. Andromadine is a city of walls. Battered and beautiful. Layers of walls gives this city its sudonym "The Ten Rings." Each wall of this massive city has more security than the last ring. The poor live on the outside ring and there is little traveling between rings, though much trade. All of the 10 rings is more like a self governing city. Each with their own imports and exports. Vast distences span between rings, getting smaller in the center. Knowledge DC 15:
Except the seventh ring, which has about 300 ft. To the next. There first ring is Kaden lahal. Miles before the next ring, much farming is done here. Run down and corrupt, you will never find a city with more crime and villany. The city "watch" wear full white, thin, plates of armor. Dictated by a man known to few; his orders are carried out by a great worrior in all black armor. It is wise not to anger him. Despite this, people enjoy simple pleasures and get by. Contending with constant threats, Lahalens have become tough themselves.
Seraphina sees a strange creature of the mystical woodland realm, sitting atop an animal she has never seen. A man cloaked in black with with a heavy metal and wooden box on his back. He stands just aside facing the burning stone of the town hall. The Blurred Hearth faces east towards the town hall which is about 300 ft. away facing south. The man in black is at the back of the building. Sera can make out that there is a citizen laying helpless on the ground about 25 ft. away from the man cloaked in black. No one else is around or investigating. The strange man seams to be talking to the strange creature not worried about the fire or paying any attention to the helpless citizen.
reference check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Crushed it. Good one on the rabbit, but with a 22 on my reference check, I also got the reference of the pillow. It's from animaniacs, the kid who walks out the door, says something, and goes back in his house. Now that was a nice reference. As the three adventurers take their first steps, Alec busts out the door, whipping it so fast (and in the direction it wasn't intended to go(towards outside)) that it brakes off its hinges. Alec looks back at the old man behind the bar, through the opening. The wrinkled old man just waives him to go on. Beautiful sunny day. A bit damp still from the horrid downpour last night. Way out in the distance the land slopes upwards and comes to a berm that stretches the boarder of where the eyes can see.
Sir Speedy can catch up. He needs his sleep. They try to wake up Alec, but to no avail. Karinah mounts her riding lizard. Eoko got destracted. Vaan is waiting outside for the others. After they assemble our heroes head out for town, five miles away, a three hour march. How far behind Alec is will be based on how quickly you post that you are getting ready.
The usual suspects in the public house cheer. You two would know each other. Also, Besh would know you two as well, probably in business with Osmundus. Aelia would keep her distance, though because of the need for a presence of authority learned in her training. Being good, it is hard not to make friends, but being lawful in a law occupation one typically would respect the teachings of 'keep your distance'. Seraphina (I like that name) is in a place of authority, as well, by being a healer. But, would be friendly with the whole village. Aelia would probably be on a first name basis with Seraphina, but not the others. Nearly before midday it is the first brightly lit overcast day since all the rain that had washed away the snow.
You are a bard by profession. But, not the class. If you do continue down the road and find the arcane arts in your travels, then yes. But, not just frowned upon. You'd be tried, convicted, and sentenced to death. So, if you stumble upon anything like that, you better hide it. But, your next level is in how you play. Who knows what you might be. You know, singing, dancing around... you might level in Paladin. *wink*
Alright...ladies.?..and..gentlemen..? Anyway. Since there are many questions about some things, I just want to make most of this clear. Sorry if you are rereading anything. I just want you to have a clear picture of the world that you live and work in. ♦EMPIRICAL COMMON KNOWLEDGE♦
Ancient roads, laid down long before Attica, create the borders of the five provinces. The powerful roads provide great safety and speed to merchants' endeavors. Naxos is the Provence of men humans. Even though the different races mingle, mostly with little trouble, there is a large amount of de fecto segregation from the separated cultures of old. At the convergence of these provinces is the city/state of Attica. A most powerful city, where all government falls under leadership to. The Counsel guides all law which is watched over by the Emperor. Each province has a governor who watches over the mayors. The mayors look after each town, city, or large rural area. In social forums that are held in the honor of the people, citizens may contribute to how the Empire should respond to threats or modify laws. The mayors listen to the citizens and communicate to the governor who meets in council with the Emperor. At the heart of the city of Attica is the massive tower of the Forum of Nethys. There, is where all arcane magic is monitored and governed. To study the arcane arts children are accepted at the age of 8 years. They then go through a process that directs them to one school of magic. No universal wizards. There is a head of each school called a Monitor. The head of each of each of the schools answers to the Grand Administrator, who answers to the council. The Armed forces are organized so that the largest of the forces are under the council. Each governor and each mayor, though, has their own small assembly that is loyal to them, seperate fron the Attican army. Even some powerful aristocrats have their own militia. Only citizens can hold offices of any status, join the militia, or be admitted to the Forum of Nethys. Divine magic is held in high regards and is very common across the land. There is little to no visual signs to positive energy from divine magic. Arcane magic drapes the area in color, require intricate symbols, and strange and loud sounds. If someone who is not wearing the wizards garb is witnessed using arcane magic they immediately get placed under investigation and could be sentenced to capital punishment. Negative divine magic is still illegal. Attica enjoys piece among it's people. There are sometimes poorly executed attacks from raiders and invaders that are short lived due to the superior Attican force. The non-citizens that contend with the class system are rarely given any notice, since there is much piece due to the union of the Attican arms. Non-citizens are not treated with the best respects, but they do enjoy laws that protect them. ♦WEATHER & SEASON♦

I will post the opening scenario soon. Just been very busy here in real life.

Character Name | Occupation | Citizenship | Class | Race | 17 point buy | Gear and living situation | Maelius | bard(job not class) | Citizen | Expert | Human | √ |Room and board at an Inn that he is preforming at Osmundus | brewer | Not a citizen, right? | Expert | Human | √ | Renting a shack Aelia | Guard | Citizen | Human | √ | Barracks Besh | innkeeper's daughter | playing? Lucius | shepherd | Playing? @Mael. Can't wait to hear the song ☺. Poor daily standard is 3gp/month, living in a hostel. Average living is 10gp/month. One should have three months in savings. So, figure that out and decide what you want. Because, you could be living paycheck to paycheck... or rather coin-in-the-hat to coin-in-the-hat. Whatever you want. I will be starting the game play soon.
There lies a village 50 miles away from the capital city of the Naxos province. Clustered in the center of town are wooden buildings with thatched roofs. A small courthouse/jailhouse is the largest building. It sits at the focus of a circle clearing that houses the Markets every other day and twice on the week-ends.
@Aelia. Man, don't worry about it. Both are good. Do you want a guard or a clergywoman? Except Gilthanis just said that they were interested in playing the healing clergywoman. So, the guard sounds great. @Gilthanis. Dad was a citizen as well, because one can only be military if a citizen. Very good character.

oh, I forgot he was older. Well done. The militia thing is fine. But, I want it clear, each mayor of a town or rural area and each governor has their own small armed forces, made up of citizens. Because only citizens can be soldiers and guards. But, it doesn't mean you can't have things to defend yourself. I also was just saying that adventurers have backpacks with bedrolls and a weapon and armor. Normal people who work for a living have clothes and tools with a bed in their home. Typically a way to defend themselves, but unless an heirloom from their father or something, it's a simple weapon, like a long spear, so that works well.
