He doesn't have many braincells to work with and on top of it he goes through more weed than a tanker truck of Round-up, so his memory is shot. He can barely read and add most of the time and playing in-character is something that we've given up on trying to get him to do. He constantly derails the game with ridiculous questions that could be saved for a time when we're not on a schedule. And then when I answer his ridiculous questions because he's afraid he'll forget it, about being the king of dragons or whatever and ask him if it's something he'd be interested in doing, he replys with "Nah, just wondering."
For everybody who says weed is harmless, everybody has a story about some dude who "smokes like a furnace, and can't add for squat, but herb is good for you!" I've played pot heads and drunks, and the drunks are ok as long as they only drink DURING the break...
I don't play with potheads...they annoy me, high or no. I don't know when are they worse really. Also i avoid playing with drunks. If you show up at my game drunk or high, i send you home. If you bring booze, i tell you do drink it after the session. I'll have none of that stuff during play. I'm thinking of banning beer as two of my players are starting to overdrink it.

@HarbinNick It's the person, not the substance, that is the problem, at least for my group. That guy is just stupid in general, the smoking just makes it more obvious and ruins any ability he has to focus. I have two groups and the one with the previously mentioned smoker is one where every person at the table is smoking it. Everyone else has no problem and some even have their creativity "enhanced" but it's the people who were stupid to begin with that have the problems. I've had lots of substance "abusers" in my games over the years and the only time I've ever had problems is with drinkers who have been going steady all night who want to argue about the rules. Otherwise I'm fine with people doing whatever at the table.

@Hama You must know lots of the stereotypical potheads that everyone hates and I'm so sorry. I assure you that they're not all that lame! I can totally understand where you're coming from on banning substances, if it's taking away from your enjoyment then it shouldn't be there. But not every high/drunk person is a bad player, some are really good as long as they know how to keep it cool, like most of the smoker RPers I know.

I don't have stories nearly as bad as some of you, but these are the ones I've got.

My worst DM:

He was actually a good friend and a really cool guy that I liked a lot who was just learning to DM at the time so he made a lot of rookie mistakes, but overall he was not cut out to be a DM. First of all, he couldn't do mental math to save his life and there is a great deal of that in 3.5, so games would grind to a halt as he stuggled to figure out what the monsters' attack/save/skill roll total was. He wasn't stupid, not by a long shot, but math just tripped him up. He also expected all the players to be 100% familiar with the homebrew setting he was running, which was no big deal for me because he had a richly detailed world I enjoyed learning about, but other more casual players suffered. He also had DMPC that was great at everything AND was destined to be king of his home country.

None of these things compared to the royal screw job he pulled on my character. I was a 8th level NE Archivist who was writing what was to become this settings version of the Necronomicon and I was doing a very good job of hiding how ridiculously evil I was behind their goody-two-shoes-backs by acting like Hedonism-Bot so no one took me seriously. I had even killed my slave (we had an arabian themed setting where slavery was legal) and raised him as a zombie and was able to keep him hidden with a magic item. Oh and I would beat the zombie mercilessly with a crop when he "displeased" me and the unknowing party were horrified at my brutal treatment and they would try to go behind my back to free the zombie slave, but he would always silently remain until I called for him. But I digress.

Our party was out searching for some lost city of gold and during the night on the last day of travel an unseen shooter sent an arrow directly through my disguised zombie (no roll, just happened) with a note tied to it that said "Zombie" while the Paladin was on watch. The DM literally had an arrow pointing at my disguised servant that said zombie, how f&%king lame is that?! My PC was then confronted by the outraged party on the verge of killing me when I went invisible. But that was when the DMPC hit me with a glitterdust under the premise that it would help us "talk out the issue." Yes, talk out the issue with the LG Cleric and Paladin who now have drawn weapons. Due to some seriously bad rolls on the part of my comrades I was able to escape, but only to have to make a new character anyway. And that was how I was screwed out of my favorite PC ever because the DM thought that it would make a fun plot development.

Worst PC:

That is a fourway tie between the following gifted people. They will be named (or numbered rather) in chronological order.

#1 When I was in high school me and my best friend formed a group at a local bookstore out of 3 complete strangers we met in the gaming section that turned out to be very friendly. One of these people was forced to bring his 13 year old brother along with him and after the first session he was dubbed "Stupid Kid." He earned his name after he spilled a nearly full 24oz glass of Pepsi all over a stack of books after he was asked to move the glass more than once. This behavior carried over into the game, but the details escape me a decade later. But the pepsi thing stands out in my memory.

#2 A guy from my high school who just wanted an outlet for fantasys about magical intelligent dildos and ultra slutty Paladins with aforementioned dildos as "mounts." He did not enjoy the game I ran so he offered to run one and it was all about us defending nobles from attacks by lazy peasants who just wanted handouts from the government. The game lasted for one session as my character broke ranks, killed one of the nobles and renamed himself Lenin.

#3 The DM from above. He's a good guy, he was just an attention hog who made almost every campaign about some epic quest his character was destined to be on. He couldn't shut up or do math to save his life either. And he delivered all of his in characer speech like he was performing Shakespeare at The Globe which got tiresome rather quickly.

#4 Another really stupid person who is in my current group, but rather than a kid he's the eldest of the group. He doesn't have many braincells to work with and on top of it he goes through more weed than a tanker truck of Round-up, so his memory is shot.
