I'm a big fan of hammers in most RPGs. Is there a deity among the Starfinder gods whose favored weapon is a hammer of some sort? As far as I can tell most deities entries don't mention a favored weapon (unless I missed that). Thanks for any feedback on this!

P.S this is for a SFS character concept I'm working on.

The Exchange

One last thing to clear something up. I just started playing the SFS mods last month so I'm still wrapping my head around how things work. Still figuring out how the whole boon thing works. :-) Thanks again to all who replied to my original post.

Legacy Races are something we certainly want to eventually open up for broader play. We've made some headway on opening these up through via the RSP boon and other (spoiler-filled) avenues. If you've been keeping up with Starfinder Society offerings, you'll understand what I mean. That being said, I assure you, you won't have to wait long for dwarves and your friend certainly won't have to wait too long for halflings!

All things (and more) to those who wait... :)

Thanks Thurston, that's what I wanted to hear. Got no problem waiting I'm having fun with my human mechanic at the moment. Been playing one version or another of this game since 1977, waiting is something I've gotten used to. :-) Take care.

At some point? Probably. But not for some time.

We’re only halfway through the first season right now! And as Gary has said those are chronicle rewards right now. Suddenly opening them up would completely remove the legacy races as a GM reward/incentive.

(For reference I think PFS didn’t open up any non-Core races for general use until Season 4.)

One thing you can try to do is get really friendly with your most active local GM. One of the rewards they can get is the ability to give one legacy race boon to a player of their choosing.

Thanks Kevin! To be clear I was not asking for this to be opened up right now. Just some info as to if that might happen in the future. I can only speak for myself but I'm just not into the races currently offered. They are all cool in their own way, it's just that we had a lot of fun playing the sci fi versions of these in the 3.0 Dragonstar game from FFG that I was looking forward to doing that again.

Hmm if I have to wait four years to play a dwarf....not good. Guess I'm stuck playing humans. :-(

This is happening now. GMing at a con or at a store that has a Region Support Program in place.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant like when PFS opened up different races for people to play when a new season started. I'm already running a home game of Dead Suns so I don't have the ability to GM. Besides I've been doing that since the early days of Living Greyhawk so I think I'm due for some downtime. :-)

The Exchange

I apologize if this has been stated elsewhere, but at some point are they going to allow us to play the legacy races? For whatever reason most of the core races just don't interest me that much. I have a friend who loves playing halflings and my go to race has always been dwarves. Any chance of this happening with the new season? Thanks!

The Exchange

As someone who regularly attends Origins and cannot afford the time or money for GenCon, I'm really happy Starfinder will premier it's new season at Origins! I now have a fair idea of what I will be doing with my time at Origins 2018!

So is the entire line going to be resin? If so count me out. This material is not suitable for the gaming table. Resin (at least the ones I have worked with are too brittle and fragile when it comes to the "fiddly bits." And I'm not paying that price. No offense they are good looking figures but until a more durable and reasonable alternative comes alone we will just reuse our old plastic Star Wars minis. I had hoped they were going to be the prepainted plastic figures like Pathfinder, but resin is a no go for me. I won't even use them in 40k for the same reason.

The Exchange

Can't wait to see a Starfinder version of the Shadows or Klicks from Alternity, or for that matter the Arachnids from Starship Troopers. And then just when the players think they're the bad guys, pull the rug out from under them and make the good guys in the scenario! And have the cute fuzzy "ewoks" be he evil race...bwahahaha!!!

That worked out real well didn't it. :-)

So how does this cloaking field ability work? Is it magic, some sort of "force" power, or tech? So I'm curious to hear how this works.
We actually address that aspect of class abilities in the chapter's introduction, but the short answer is "any or all of the above." :D

Okay I can buy into any of the three I mentioned since I can as a player and GM envision how all three could work. Plus it gives the player more freedom to his character development. I like that. Heck I like the idea of a "divinely inspired" operative. "I'm on a mission from my god." :-) Faith Ninjas!

And I assume this would be the class to build the "Operative" in Serenity from.

I know this is a bit tangential but which class makes the best pilot?

Seeing the color markings on the face makes me think the he is a SHE. Wasn't something said about the female Vesk being the colorful ones? Which is a cool reversal and makes me want to play a female Vesk mechanic who's a mix of Kaylee and Jayne from Firefly. If that's possible with Vesk that is.
They were subtle enough that I didn't caTch it. That sounds like a fun character combo

Just imagine the Vesk mechanic (think the one in the post on the race) saying "You are beginning to damage my calm." :-)

There's absolutely nothing stopping you from playing a likable, cheerful, competent vesk mechanic!

with a REALLY BIG GUN! :-)

OR a ratfolk bounty hunter (now who does that remind us of? :-) )

Anyone got any tape?

I'm sure the answers buried in here somewhere but I can't find it. As far as we can tell from the rules you can only craft one potion per day even if it's a level 1. Most of the players at that table argue that makes crafting potions not cost effective but the GM won't budge on this. My roommate thinks there's a feat that will let you brew two potions at once but we can't find it. Is there such a thing? Thanks!

Yeah but isn't that only against undead? Not useful in most situations.

Weapon of Impact spell

My Google-fu is currently failing to locate the Impact special quality as it's printed in actual PnP materials (it's in a Forgotten Realms book, but I don't know which one - it may be on D&D Tools, but I'm unable access it with my iPad for some reason).

EDIT: to fix tags

I should clarify one point. We are looking for something that is legal to use in PFS Organized Play. If this were a home game we could just make something up and call it done. :-)

Its a 'making sense' rationale more then a 'rules' rational. You cant put a keen edge on a bludgeoning weapon. Its not about penalyzing people who use bludgeoning weapons, its about what makes sense within a consistant game world.

I get that "Keen" as such wouldn't make sense (the word), but for balance purposes why not have an ability that can affect other types of weapons besides just slashing and piercing.

The Exchange

Is there any magical enhancement bonus that can be put on a bludgeoning weapon to improve its threat range? Slashing and piercing weapons get keen, why not something like this for bludgeoning weapons? We've been looking and cannot find anything. If there is nothing what is the rationale for penalizing those who choose this type of weapon?

The Exchange

Is there a trait, feat or class feature that allows a witch a reroll in the event of a failed Will Save? Thanks!

According to the text on p.19 of Rivers Run Red (Kingmaker AP 2) the gnomes are especially interested in an abandoned dwarven outpost. Our group thinks we may have found it, but we can't find any other references to it. Is the troll lair on p. 43 the outpost the gnomes were looking for? This may play a part in our game so any assistance will be appreciated. Of course if that's all there is we can make up stuff on our own. :-) Thanks!
