In my Monday night Pathfinder game we encountered a boss who had set herself up in a box made of Symbols of Striking using reach weapons. My character approached the boss while invisible and this is where we ran into a problem.
Symbol of Striking says that it works like Symbol of Death however Symbol of Death is an AoE and Symbol of Striking uses a weapon to make AoOs. Normally an invisible creature can't be directly targeted by a spell or an attack so when my invisible character entered the threatened area of the Symbol of Striking would it have been able to make an AoO against him?
At the time my GM ruled that since the boss was able to see through my invisibility her spell effects were able to as well and he proceeded with the attack as if I had no form of concealment. In the interest of keeping the game from being bogged down in a rules debate I just went with his ruling however I feel like in that situation either the spell would have not been able to target me at all or it would have been able to make the AoO but it would have had the normal 50% miss chance for attacking an invisible target. I'm curious what other thoughts and opinions are on this subject.
