The cannonball cracks through the near rail of the Tamarind, and rips smashing along the the deck. The helmsman dives, but is rocked hard by debris... and the base of the pilot's wheel may have taken some damage.

helmsman reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Crewman Du'bing comments on the Tamarind sailor's exclamation... "They think we're pirates?", then shrugs "We'll we've got'em... they can only fire from the aft now."
You see Crewman Du'bing wince a bit instead of cheer with this last shot - maybe second guessing the assumption that this is the enemy.

Iolana:
earlier prof(sailor) roll
As you'd noticed before, their ship is sitting very low in the water - their ship should be faster than yours, but apparently their load is slowing them down.
With your two cannons and two ballistae and greater speed, they are no match for you, and really should have realized this by now.

Aluara, Gath, and Iolana make it back to the Moana Tarqona...
Crewman Du'bing nods - not terribly concerned, "Aye, Gun'ress... they know where we are, but fair bet we're on right track... just outside the shipping lane to Greenblood. Was good info...."

Ekoji the Bonuwat makes an exaggerated brow-wiping gesture "Phew... Naw dem. Dida boom.", and again "Phew..."

Du'bing translates Ghiv and Gatherine's concerns, and Ekoji sighs and nods "Aye. Na'dem... cooda boom."... letting the dinghy drift away from the ship... then "Jaw-lee boda?"
Du'bing nods... clarifies. "Aye. Got a pair of jolly boats if anyone wants to row out and take look." He cocks his head to indicate Gatherine. "Maybe Miss Gunner is right, but it'll be hard to let go without looking." That said, he does not appear to be volunteering himself.

Morning comes, and a worn-looking Crewman Du'bing wakes those not already rising...
"Fair night... good steady wind this morning. Should be a smooth start for ya. If you have a handle on charts, and a fair eye...." He gestures to the wheel, and adjacent map table.
"Whoever else can lend a hand with the sails, and rigging... and Miss Gatherine... Havvy will be your powder monkey as well as a swabbie."
"Miss Zerengo, If you could show Captain Ghiv the ropes...."

Required success for shift...

Able-bodied seamen (Ghiv): 5 profession(sailor)
Rigger (Iolana): 2 profession sailor + 2 climb + 1 acrobatics
Navigator/Pilot (Aluara): 3 knowledge(geography) + 2 perception
Master Gunner (Gatherine): 1 Craft(alchemy) + 1 Knowledge (engineering)
Gorilla Wrangler (Garborn): 2 Handle Animal

DCs are 12 for first attempts (5 or 2 rolls). All fails will be rerolled with a -2 penalty.

Crewman Du'Bing starts to head topside, but stops to ask orders... "Set course for Greenblood, Captain? To be sure we'll keep an eye to the horizon, and give chase if we spot'er along the way, aye?"
"Will let you know if sails or whatnot is spotted...otherwise... got plenty hands on deck for tonight."

As mentioned by Gatherine, Greenblood is in the Sodden Lands on the other side of the Shackles - north of here. Her interrogation uncovered that is where the Spidertear Gang's hideout is (the ones you just fought who where hired by some unknown).

The crewman who'd come to the Slippery Nymph to sound the alarm gives Ghiv a friendly nod... "Can fight, can sail, I think a good swimmer.... I call you captain for a day if you join with us. We need crew."
He looks up at Aluara returning with the Chief Watchman... "Up for it too, aye? I tell you... anyone taking the bounty is welcome aboard. Don't you worry now Miss Iolana, we get them."

["You still have not answered my friend's question about Witchmarket fully. Have you seen it since you acquired the wand? Any idea of its current whereabouts?"

Milky shakes his head. "I have gone nowhere near the breach. No idea if it is still there, but I've had no intention to seek it out.

He sits quietly frowning and sniffling a bit while the others speak, then responds to Vorik. "They were friends of the girl's mother. Well this little farm belonged to her mother, they worked for her. When she passed away, from natural causes, she left them the goat farm."

Dieter:

This morning you have continued to inspect the wand, and have determined it is an intelligent cursed minor artifact. It has several powers, but ultimately is not controlled by the wielder.

Mulky continues to look vacantly at the ground as Jaestra speaks. "Maaybee I did." he then looks up toward her. "Had a job in Mivon to reclaim a family heirloom from some lesser noble's estate. Took a few years longer than expected when I was wrongfully imprisoned... Pegged for some crime while I was on the job."

"I had work. Left her with them so I could take care of some business. Wasn't ever s'posed to be forever. When I came back, they wouldn't return her. Said I was unfit."

"Not long after that I came upon a caravan. Bunch of gypsies that s'posedly traveled through a rift to the First World. There was a hag named Yvrova who said she had just the thing to get my daughter back, with magic instead of violence. A powerful wand that would not hurt them, but make them unfit to raise my daughter. I asked how much. She said 1 gold, but that I couldn't afford it. I asked why not. She said "It will cost you everything you ask for."

What this clearly insane Yvrova did not know, was that my pet.. err companion - my old one - was a sneaky fellow. Accepted many jobs as a "liberator" of goods, and never lifted a finger. So I distracted the hag by having her read her cards for me, while my companion took what she said I couldn't afford."
He then shrugs.

Sense motive Vorik:

No real deception in his words, or at least he seems to believe most of what he says. When he speaks about the couple who took his daughter is when it really seems like it is both an oversimplification and dramatic embellishment to win over his audience.

Mulky shakes his head. "I just used it blindly. It turned them into goats... I don't know what it did to my daughter. She just... vanished. I fear that was the cost the hag spoke of."
"With each use, my thoughts turned darker... hard to think clearly at all. I sent my old companion away, and found Maury in my fevered dreams. I still feel it's power, but far weaker... My thoughts are my own again." He clears his throat, and scrunches his eyes as if to keep from sobbing.
