I recently come to fin out that the "guild" I've joined will be starting in "evil" territory. As someone likely to play a good aligned character how much should this concern me? How will this affect game play?

For example, will my band of heros find ourselves fighting our way out of territory to go harvesting or adventuring?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Over 3 days:

3 emails. 3 phone calls.

No response in anyway. Not used to this kind of lack of attention from Paizo customer service. Would someone please return my calls or email.

Okay, this isn't helping at all; all you folks are doing is giving me more and more ideas for characters. Please stop providing such interesting ideas!

As you can tell, I am nowhere near deciding how I should play my two characters. And, that's just in respect to crafting and adventuring. "Class" skills and concepts are entirely other problem!

It's official; this game will be too cool.

Interesting responses. Let me ask my question a little differently.

In discussions about the game is the assumption by the development community that most people will be adventurers with just a little crafting, or do they generally discuss the game as expecting crafters to do very little adventuring?

Another way I might word this would be...
Let's say in 2 years "end game" content is released. Would a character be ready for those challenges if they took on substantial crafting training?

And yet another way to frame the question...
If I would like to be a substantial crafter and adventurer, will this take longer than might truly be feasible? (Given xp is solely related to time)

Really looking forward to this game!

Hello all,

Does anyone have a sense of how much crafting/refining/harvesting characters would normally be expected to do?

Would most characters, for example, be expected to take on one of each of the crafting spheres? Or, should characters focus on just one of crafting, refining or harvesting?

I understand this may be more of an advise solicitation, and that's fine. Thanks for your knowledge and advise.

One love.

I received an email warning that this the package for this is larger than normal shipments. "Because the Skull & Shackles Base Set is so much larger than the usual subscription shipments..." Any idea what this portends? I'm not sure why it would be larger.

For characters with light sources we use the GameMastery torch bearer pack you can get here on paizo.

The small pieces need some assembly but that is no real problem.

For lighteffects that have their originsomewhre father away from a character we use yellow or orange plastc circles that are popped up on some wood or plastc sticks so medium Miniatures can pass under them.

I've heard some concerns about the stability of the GameMastery product. Has that improved?

Hello fellow gamers,

I was wondering if anyone had any interesting ideas for indicating where light sources are for miniatures? Right now we just use a bright yellow die, for example, to show where someone currently has their dancing lights spell.

Are there any products that would go well with miniatures? Other techniques?

Thanks for your time.

Yes, everything is fully encounter-ready.

It's actually set up to be able to be handled either way!

Thank you!

I have a couple of quick questions. (I don't have access to the product yet.)

#1. Are all of the rooms flushed out for encounters or is this like some other mega-dungeons leaving that to the DM?

#2. While I understand that PC levels are not mentioned for the corresponding dungeon levels, is the dungeon designed to played straight through? Or, are PCs expected to return once and a while?

Thanks for your help with these questions everyone.

All the best.

Hello All,

Just wondering if someone could help us out. I've just checked this forum for the first time in a long time. The land grab seems to be going on and our guild has not been contacted, nor are we listed on the nifty guild sheet and we are larger (6 members) than some that have taken part of these activities?

Have we missed something? Is there an email(s) we've not received?

Thanks everyone for your help.

I thought I would just take a moment and post how pleased my gaming table is with the Adventure Card Game.

We play the game when our players are missing. We are a seasoned table with the average play time being about 20 years.

Every time we play we have such a great time. We just completed the first scenario of Burnt Offerings. We have so much fun we shout and yell when we win the fight against the villain - embarrassing for a group of big burly 30/40/50 year old men.

Thanks Paizo staff. This is a great product.

How about slimes, oozes and swarms? That would be cool :)

Or familiars and animal companions?

(of course, the issue with those is that they won't have quite the draw that undead and goblins do)

Hey folks,

Over the past year I have run into a few television shows that are based on Pathfinder/DD type fantasy games. The 5 minutes I caught of one showed a bard doing a hilarious version of diplomacy (if I remember correctly) and getting some bandits to talk with her. Another one shows some guys on a beach, one dressed in chainmail. I think they're different shows...

I think there are currently a few of them out. Could some kind player remind of the names of the shows? I'd love to buy them to watch with my family on a trip we're going on tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

First of all I would like to say how nice it is to see Dale McCoy Jr and James Jacobs replying from their positions as leaders in the gaming industry; Thanks for your time to customer service. It's people such as yourselves that make rpgs the great experience they are.

Mr.Jacob is there someone specifically the community could direct comments towards. Also, might it possible to create a simple internet query/survey on the Paizo site to gauge interest in high level material?

In my gaming group, or "lodge" (as we geekfully call our location), our most beloved part of the Pathfinder product line are the Adventure Paths and their supporting materials. However, we frequently speak with consternation over their stopping at level 15-17. I have posted previously about this situation and have been given some very clear and reasonable factors around such a choice. I don't think it would be helpful to revisit them here.

On the other hand, I would like to see a post adventure path product, boxed set (I know what happened to TSR), or module. It seems unlikely to me that face cards dedicated to a particular adventure path would create as much player interest as a sold level 15-20 adventure. There is so little created at for these levels, the aforementioned products by other posters not withstanding, there must be demand.

Another thought that crosses my mind would be to create the product as a PDF only at first. My assumption (I know, assumptions make an "ass" of you and "umption"...lol) is that it would be less costly to Paizo and would allow for a cheap measure of interest. Thoughts?

Still, I'd love to just see one product using the full force of Paizo's brilliant creativity (a compliment to you and your staff Mr.Jacobs), and marketed with the full swagger other products receive. I smile just thinking of it.

Next week I'll be heading to Lima, Peru and Quito, Ecuador. When I travel I love stopping into local gaming stores to see if they have any local gaming trinkets.

Anyone know of any good gaming stores in either city?

I love Pathfinder. I have but one gripe. Why is there so little material for levels 16+?

Of all the information I have encountered, the only viable answer I have found to date is there appears to be no consumer market for it.

I offer only anecdotally, that about 95% of the gamers in my area are looking for not only level 16+ official material, but even a Pathfinder version of "epic" material.

It would seem that a number of the new 64-page module series could focus on this underdeveloped portion of the system.

Thoughts? I am curious if any Paizo staff can provide any "secret squirrel" statistics around this side of the market. (I ask as a curiosity, NOT as an indictment in anyway.)

Hello all,

This is my first "real" post on the message boards. I apologize if I am breaking any protocols.

I was thinking about all of the wonderful products produced in various fantasy role playing games over the years. Perhaps my favourite parts of my collection would be the old mega-adventure "box-sets".

I know some will say that it is already being done through map packs, cards, map folios and adventure paths, etc. But, there is just nothing so pleasing as that codified set of material in a beautiful container. The recent "Rise of the Runelords" collection is a quarter of the way there.

I think of the "Rod of 7 Parts" and "Dragon Mountain", "Ruins of Undermountain", etc.

Wouldn't that be awesome?
