About Cra'rak "The Vulture" Krawk

Tengu are known for many things, not least of which being greedy, good with swords, and somewhat frail. Cra'rak is none of those things.

Krawk is a goliath of a Tengu, not being particularly tall, but being especially bulky. Instead of resembling the body shape of a crow, Krawk resembles more of a vulture.

Cra'rak spent most of his adolescence being raised by the dwarves of Burrowdar. He took quickly to some of their beliefs, such as being brisk, to the point, and honorable to a fault, but never learned to love stones or metal like them. Despite this, Cra'rak is surprisingly unpopular in town.

This unpopularity is because of two distinct factors other than the Tengu's course nature. The first is the massive talons that grow from Krawk's hands, indeed he prefers them to swords. The second is his obsession with anatomy, often searching for bodies to learn how the parts were supposed to fit together. His ability to scent blood and death earned him the nickname of "The Vulture."

However, this curiosity was just that, born of a desire to be able to put people back together. Some like to disassemble and reassemble mechanical devices. Cra'rak merely is interested in organic ones. Krawk is especially good at medicine, and is an alchemist of some note. However, sensing that people are often uncomfortable around him, Krawk moved his business out to a small shack at the edge of the town. The scent of sterilization juxtaposes with the scent of decay around it, creating an atmosphere of unease. Krawk is always happy to help others, and often offers reduced rates for healing, although many think that the Tengu is altogether too excited by the prospect, and are very uncomfortable with the massive talons that Krawk boasts, and the fact that he often mutters to himself. Sometimes, people claim they have seen a bird with teeth that flutters about him, but none can confirm this.

Cra'rak has a decent relationship with the dwarves of the town, and will do anything to help them. His situation before coming to Burrowdar is unknown to the public at large, but he is eternally grateful to the kindness the dwarves showed him. Recently, he has endeavored to try and endear himself to the town by doing favors for people, often unprompted. This usually has the opposite effect, for who wants a vulture flapping around your house? He also has joined the town militia, which may have been a mistake, as it proves that just how deadly the Tengu can be. However, if you are in his care, then it is safe to say that he would rather die than let harm come to you.
