Aye... Cortos kneels to catch his breath, then looks at the wounds. Gonna have to add giant bugs to the list of things that tried to kill me... Well, looks like we found what we were lookin' for: adventure.
Cortos ignores the wounds and keeps pounding the bug, wanting to reduce it to fine paste.
Cortos is very angry at the big bug thing for attacking him, so he responds appropiately.
I'm having connection issues, so if it happens again feel free to NPC me. His usual tactics are charging, raging and power attacking, so this shouldn't be too difficult.
Cortos remembers the teachings of his wise master: When in doubt, charge. Or maybe it wasn't his wise master at all, maybe he was another mercenary he met while he was drunk in a tavern, he can't recall now.

Mmmm... What if I get an adamantine dwarven waraxe (total 12 lb) and a noqual shield? I'd get less damage for more protection, and I'd still keep my trusty greataxe if needed. Is 23.25 lb of stuff a fair share? How much do we get each?
Cortos shopping list is just adamantine greataxe for now, so 18 lb of adamantium total (12 +6 for the dwarves). I would also like to make it masterwork, if that means selling a little more adamantium from that share that's fine. Don't know what to do with the noqual, any suggestions?
I actually don't know if we are getting a fair deal here, both in character and out of character. What say you?
Actually no, I'm not looking for spells and such. But craftin' my skymetal? That's more like it. Let's say that you give us our thousand scarabs each, AND ye provide us a crafted item of our choice for free, made with the skymetal we sell ye. I ain't gonna move my dwarf ass for less than that. A dwarf NEVER accepts the first offer.
Right, so, first, I'm no good with numbers, but 3 per cent looks very low, no offense cousin. Second, ye say that ye have claims, but I've yet to see one. Third, I don't loot tombs, I secure them. I'm a mercenary, that's what I do, so I'm gonna be paid for that, and NOT in the leftovers of the gnolls. Ye wanna hire us, hire us for good. Cortos then stays silent, waiting for the two dwarfs to make an offer, and giving the impression that he's not gonna accept spare coppers to put his life at stake.
Well I'll be damned if I let those gnolls raid another mine. 've already had a nice argument with one of those pesky dogs, so I'll accept to yer proposal. But I want my fair share, just like everyone else in the group.
Cortos has never felt comfortable with the idea of being fully immersed in water, so he doesn't bathe.
After boasting a bit in the presence of the other two dwarfs about his martial prowess during thier exploration of the tomb, Cortos asks the two miners what brings them here at the lodge.
Boy this stuff's heavy says Cortos after he singlehandedly carried all the adamantine after Shirish suggestion. He greets Var and asks for something nice to eat, possibly not goat.
Shrugs - you might want to list that archetype up on your character sheet as well Cortos - currently there isn't any indication that you are going that way. The archetype starts swapping class abilities from level 3, not before.
Seriously though, I wanted to go with the Savage Barbarian archetype and wear no armor at all. At the moment I'm wearing the armored kilt as my only mean of protection. Therefore I'd rather have an mwk adamantium battleaxe. A shield would be nice (it wouldn't contrast the No Armor rule) but I'll have to think about it. When are we supposed to get this stuff anyway? Are we done exploring and heading back to town already?
I wanted to be sure.
Cortos snores loudly, making Shirish's watch less comfortable and peaceful. He'll take second watch when she's too tired to keep on.
Cortos metodically smashes all the remaining jars, containers and pieces of furniture to be sure. Once he's finished, he sits on the ground and says: 'right, let me be absolutely clear. I ain't gonna move my ass 'till we all get a good night sleep. And no, I won't do first watch. He then notices Daeron. See? Like that. Wait, what the hell happened to him?
As Cortos is brought back to consciousness by Jerrand's spell, the dwarf wakes up with Shirish's boot on the face, since she took his place moments before.
Toughest enemy Cortos has ever faced: a g~!+@! vase.
The jar knocks Cortos down, making the dwarf a nice platform for Shirish to stand on and attack the other jars.
SOON to be inanimated! yells Cortos, who then smashes it again with the axe.
YOU! JAR! SHUT UP! I WAS TALKIN TO DAERON! If there's something that Cortos hates more than being touched during a fight, it's being interrupted when he's talking. So he just attacks the jar with his axe, thinking that it contains "another bloody undead".
Cortos replies to Daeron rather angrily: Look mate, 've been called a rabid ape, a slow witted land mammal, and smelly reject o' the bowels of the earth, but in all these years I've never been called an omeo-bobic, whatever the hell that means. Don't make an habit of it or I'll make you regret it! Then, as Daeron starts babbling like a maniac, Cortos thinks to himself: Damn right you scared him good! You still got it.
Daeron, I'm NEVER confident that I would survive my next encouter. 'therwise I won't be able to combat at all. Ye should always fight yer battles as if they were the last.
Cortos keeps pummelling on the thing to make sure it's not an undead and that it won't stand up again. As he drops out of rage, exhausted for the fight, his blows gradually lose strenght. Just what the hell are those things?
Well, he DOES have some sort of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...
I thought we were out of healing spells? That's why I proposed to rest.
Fair 'nuff. Let's go then. Cortos enters the next room, looking for signs of danger.
Hang on, Shirish says Cortos, after getting up. I'm hurt, yer hurt, so unless our mates here want to get punched in the face by those tongued f%!$ers, it's better if we rest for a while. He then speaks to Jerrand. Thanks 'bout that, cousin. Thought I was gonna end that way for a second...
Cortos has just the time to yell Blasted things! before dropping to the ground unconscious.

Cortos drops out of rage, and rests with his back on the column of the room. He's badly hurt, and examines his wound. That was too careless. One of these days, ye gonna die and ye would have bloody deserved it.
