My gaming group and I have a bit of a debate - really just me against all of them... Is it possible to fly without a listed fly speed? I have been unable to find anything that explicitly states that flight is impossible without a fly speed, only that one needs the ability to fly. I liken this to the ability to climb or swim without explicit climb or swim speeds. (The nice thing about climb and swim is they tell you how fast you can do so if you don't have a stated climb/swim speed.)

I have a treesinger that want's to change into a floating puffball. The puffball normally can fly, but since the Plant Shape ability doesn't grant the fly movement ability any form the treesinger takes is completely grounded. However, to me it seems that the treesinger should still retain the ability to fly, but would need to make fly skill checks for any flying movement and fly speed would be limited to his base movement speed.
