Background
Of mixed Khellid and Taldan descent Coen is possessed of neither the class of his father nor the ruggedness of his mother, but seems to have inherited both bloodline's tendency toward bad decisions.

Currently those decisions have him using his young life's earnings to determine if he can prove that the Torch is attached to a much larger ruin underground. Despite his talent for magic, this is not something for which he is remotely qualified. Consequently, he has spent the last several months digging through dirt, working day labor,explaining his plans to anyone who will listen, traveling unfruitfully through the local area, and increasingly moping while refusing to travel home until the emptiness of his money pouch forces him to admit his failure.

Appearance
Brown hair and eyes coupled with an unimpressive build somehow combine to a total that is more compelling than the individual parts. The ready, and often self deprecating, smile on his face couples with an atypically earnest demeanor to result in an sorcerer who is more approachable than what you would expect.

His lack of martial training is readily apparent, though he does typically travel lightly armed with a crossbow and dagger.

He is also without the typical earmarks of most spellcasters, lacking scrolls, mystical tattoos, familiars, wands or the like. So it often comes as a surprise when he casually invokes magic to meet his ends.
