"Well done..." Chumtooth pauses a moment to recall the sailor's name. "Prah-zi, is it? If your story proves true when we return, consider yourself promoted! Now that you have run all the way here, there is work for you. You will stay and help us conquer these one-eyed giants." He gestures to the slaughtered bodies of the cyclopses. "There are more. They will kneel or they will die."

Crazy to think of, but this PbP campaign started back in 2013, and at that time, the Slayer class didn't even exist. It wouldn't appear in print until a year or so later. That wasn't even my first PbP. I've been playing in campaigns here on the forums since 2010. Man, I'm gettin' old.

Hey fellow Crewmates: With the permission of GM WhtKnt, I have re-worked Chumtooth from a multi-classed Fighter/Rogue to a single-classes Slayer. My primary reason for doing so is that as we move into the higher levels, it makes the it easier to keep track of the all the crunch. Chumtooth didn't change much, but now I only have to consult one level progression chart instead of two. Anyway, in the interest of transparency, I wanted to make sure everyone knew.
"Once we conquer this island, we can see what ancient secrets are buried here," Chumtooth says.
Chumtooth moves to the front with Faengrim, ready to fight anything they encounter.
"We will continue on with the plan: give them a chance to surrender and serve, kill them if they refuse," Chumtooth says.
Chumtooth hurls harpoon at the cyclops that can still see.
He calls it back and hurls it again.
Chumtooth hurls his harpoon at the nearest cyclops.
If it is still standing, he recalls his harpoon and hurls it again. If it falls, he targets the next nearest.

"Your wish was granted, as was mine," Chumtooth replies. "Now the Spirit is freed, and cannot grant wishes to our enemies. I see that as a boon. We also have a trove of sunken treasure that we would have known about waiting for us to retrieve it."
"We will call for their surrender, and service. How they respond will determine if they live or die," Chumtooth says, nodding to the Riori and Faengrim.
"We must deal with the giants," Chumtooth says. "We must either conquer them or destroy them. Otherwise, they will continue to fight us for the island. Perhaps they will be inclined to surrender now that we have their Magic Stone."
"There is an angry spirit and a crazy man in the fort." Chumtooth replies. "The crazy man claims that the Stone can banish the spirit. Since we cannot kill it, we came to find the Stone. When we return to the fort, you may speak with the crazy man, and perhaps the two of you can understand how to make use of the Stone."
”I wish you free, Spirit. Depart this place in peace,” Chumtooth says, his tone firm in its resolve.
Chumtooth shakes his head resolutely. ”The Kuru were enslaved to the Blood Queen by wishes and promises of power. Such power always comes with a cost. For the Kuru, it is our blood and flesh to feed the Queen’s never ending hunger.”
"I want nothing from the Water Spirit," Chumtooth says. "Make your wishes now, if you still want them, then I will see it set free."
”What do you want?” Chumtooth says to the rest of the crew. ”If you want a wish granted, ask it now., for I intend to see her freed.”
"We will rid the city of the one-eyed giants," Chumtooth replies. "We will take you with us when we return to the fort, if you wish."
I am Chumtooth! Free Captain of the Shackles, and rightful chieftain of this island. Who are you?! Chumtooth does not speak aloud, but his thoughts ring out in challenge to the voice in his head.
Chumtooth hands a bow to Faengrim and divides the arrows evenly between the two. He then reaches into his pouch, retrieves one of his potions, pops the cork and drinks it down.
"We can use these bows and arrows against the giants that dwell here," Chumtooth says. "There are enough for all of us. Who can use a bow?"
"Let us finish this!" Chumtooth says in a tone of resolution.

"Let us continue to seek the Stone," Chumtooth says, moving into the room and northward. Seeing two paths, he says to the others, "Which way to you think is best?"
”It speaks?!” Chumtooth replies, surprised. ”It may leave, and not die, if it leaves its treasure, does not tell the one-eyed giants or their masters of our presence, and does not attack us again. If it does any of those things, it will die slowly and in agony. I will tear its living flesh from it in bloody chunks, and feast while it begs for death!”

Go figure. Chumtooth is a rogue, but has no ranks in disable device and owns no lock picks. The rogue class was just to reflect his island born stealthy hunting and climbing abilities.
Chumtooth moves into the room, and looks around for trouble, as well.
"If the stars can lead us to the Stone, then yes, speak to them," Chumtooth replies.
"If we follow the strongest magic, we will find the Stone, yes?" Chumtooth asks the group.
As his wounds close, and bruises fade, Chumtooth throws his head back and makes a strange growling noise (perhaps a sigh of relief). He looks down at the giant and smiles. "You were strong, and almost killed me, but I was stronger. Your chief's head will adorn my belt!" He turns to Riori, and gives her a nod of his head, and a grunt of respectful acknowledgement, which is about as much of a heartfelt thanks that anyone has received from the Kuru. "Take their coins, and let us move on."
Chumtooth roars in fury as the giant wounds him. He lunges again with his harpoon, and lashes out with his sharpened teeth.

Chumtooth takes advantage of their distraction to hurl his harpoon at the nearest cyclops.
"You can understand them," Chumtooth says to Dantes. "Can you speak their tongue? Can you sound like one of them?"
Chumtooth nods in agreement, clearly thrilled at the idea of hunting the one-eyed giants. He moves to keep pace with Faengrim.
Chumtooth catches the heart, and bites into it, relishing the taste of raw flesh and blood. "One-eyed giants, like the others. I will find their chief and claim his head for my belt," Chumtooth remarks.
