Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Having finished his sweep of the room, Chui saunters over to Azaz's unconscious and manacled form. So, who wants to break him the good news, that he's new leader of the Scorched Hand. Chui turns and looks slightly more serious. And how do we want to play this with the Big Croc? We can disappear the bodies and go "Scorched Hand who? That's always been an old favorite of mine.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui looks mildly annoyed at Harmini's tone... Nah, not a lot of sport in slicing open someone roped up like that. Chui takes a sip of fermented goat's blood and smiles... Besides, I think she wants us to whack her. He prods Velriana's bound, prone form with one foot ... Ain't that right Taldor, I slice your pale throat, and I'll be filled with "passion and power" just like a good religious crazy? Makes it sound like I'll have to change my shorts afterwards. Chui takes another sip ... If I wore any of course.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui pretends to nod sagely ... Ah yes, one of those fine religions based on killing people. Thanks for the theological insight Taldor. Chui turns away with a look of disgust on his face ... You guys do what you want with her, I want to give the room a quick security scan. Chui would like to check the room for traps and any other obvious dangers, particularly in and around the other two entrances/gates into the room.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui takes a 5 ft step, drops his wakizashi, and full attacks Azaz. Murder? You ain't seen nothing yet kiddo! Attack:
Bite 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Attack:
Second Bite from Haste 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Attack:
Claw 1 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Attack: Claw 2 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

That's cool, and I just realized that Chui can get to Velriana since he can move freely through Idrorii's square, though he'll take a penalty for a full speed acrobatics check v Kelhru. Smiling broadly, Chui sprints straight ahead, drawing his cold iron wakizashi and making only a minimal effort to dodge a possible attack from the member of the Scorched Hand that he runs past on his way to Velriana. Acrobatics:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 DC of this check increased by 10 since Chui is moving at full speed. Hey Taldor! Osirion has arrived to excavate your ass! Attack:
Wakizashi 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Not sure how many images Velriana has up, so I haven't rolled for them.

Time to recreate the famous Charge of the Cat Brigade! Starting out of line of sight of any Scorched Hand Stealth:
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 Free action - drop bow Move action (first part) - move 35 ft This brings Chui up to Idorii. To Idorii as he comes around the corner ... Glad to have you on board, our parties are much cooler. Coming through if you don't mind. Chui is going to try to move through her square as if she were a friendly NPC. Pausing my move here to see how Idorii reacts
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui - move action to square around the corner, drawing his short bow as he moves, and ready action to fire at any (hopefully with Stealth and Sneak Attack damage) any bad guy who appears without cover in his line of sight. Chui whispers to Alex .... MROW, there may be another way out of the chamber there're in. We need to watch for them coming up the corridor behind us. Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
YOWL! - Time to advance in the other direction! I think they've got a significant advantage in ranged combat. Our advantage is melee, ie. Bam. I think we should withdraw around the corner and let them open the gate and come to us. However, if you folks really, really want Chui to step forward and try to open the gate, he can do that. Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

How would Nethys-ites categorize Chui's Supernatural ninja stuff? It's obviously not spell casting but it doesn't work in an antimagic field. I'm not arguing that it makes Chui eligible to be the Pope of Nethys, just curious. Chui states into space for just a fraction of a second... Why was my brain suddenly filled with images of girls in matching plaid skirts casting spells!?!?! ... then he laughs loudly ... But of course Maid Alex, I would be honored to be your employee. Let's get this newly merged corporate behemoth on the road! This is going to be more laughs than drunken aunt Paws fourth wedding right after all her nipped-up ex-husbands arrived. And it will probably go just as smoothly.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui glances toward Velriana and then he looks back toward Idorii. He speaks quietly, not whispering but at a lower volume than Alex. Buying and ... Here Chui pauses for emphasis. Selling people seems to be a Taldan specialty. And apparently they think it’s funny. Worst of all, they’re too cheap to pay a good price.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Holding off on a Diplomacy roll sounds just fine to me. I do have a response from Chui that I'd like to post. However, I'm going to let Alex go before Chui and let her take the lead in setting the tone of the conversation. And when I wrote that Chui has a "good" relationship with Idorii, I did mean a professional relationship (though a Bastet-worshipping cat can dream).
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Before going up to the gate, I want to do one more thing in regards to Idorii and try a probably hopeless diplomacy roll. Chai continues to smile and nods toward Hypaxes while talking to Idorii... You know she'll sell you out in a Taldan second if she thinks it would help her in her precious religious quest. She hired thugs to kill us. Not very talented thugs as you can see. Would it be OK to try a Diplomacy roll at this point? Chai is trying to talk to her as one professional to another as I think she and Chui have a good relationship going back to that first crazy encounter in the Tooth & Hookah when Wynrey and Elendra were still with us.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Now that Chui is next to the gate, can he see how it would be unlocked or opened? Does it look like Idorii and Chui could attack each other through the gate? I doubt Chui could get a bit attack between the bars, but what about a paw or his wakizashi? Chui smiles toward Idorii ... So, what's a nice Garundi girl like you doing with a treacherous Taldan imperialist like this one?
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
We don't see Hypaxes or anyone else, correct? Does Chui hear anyone or anything other than her? I gather that Chui doesn't smell any fresh blood about, correct? Alexandra Trazaron wrote: I will be rushing into the room, Alex would let Chui look at the gate and cat-man-do what he does best. I'm assuming that Alex is quietly communicating this to the rest of us. Chui whispers quietly back ... One cleverly opened gate coming up. Chui takes a move action to check for traps around the gate and then moves forward to unlock (if necessary) and open the gate. I believe Chui observed Alex unlock the previous gate that was similar to this one.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Note to self, sign up Maid Alex for a distance education course on tactics. Does Chui recognize the smell at all? In terms of Hypaxes and company, I suspect he has a pretty good sense of Idorii's scent, some sense of Hypaxes, and little to none about the other two. Is there an obvious way of opening the gate where from where Chui is currently and is there any evidence of the "close behind you" trap we encountered earlier?
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Do we see any tracks or any other evidence of people, creatures, etc. moving about? I know Chui's Survival is crap, -1. Let's take a gander through the gate to the south, and then if there are do demon princes there, we'll check out the double doors to the east. Best to make sure nothing bad takes us in the flank. I aim to have only good things nip at my flanks. Moving to the southeast as before until Chui and Bam can see what lays beyond the gate. Moved Chui on roll20.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Jokes? What jokes? Chui smiles and nods toward Harmini ... Strong negotiating position Lady H, surrender the bling or else. I like it. He then looks about ... So, we ready to move on and inflict a little "diplomacy" on Hypaxes and her stooges? Though it would be a shame to damage Idorii. I'd been hoping to invite her to our Bastetian Sunday School.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Um guys, take a careful look at the statue. Up until recently, it was wearing something on its head. I'll bet Bam's weight in uncut nip, that the "something" was Relic-thingy of Bad Stuff. With luck, that Hypaxes chick is currently suffering the "harsh judgement of the Forgotten Ones." Chui takes a second to try and find out where and how the blood trail/bloody steps originated in this room.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui smiles and quietly points out the bloody footprints and slightly ajar secret door ... Looks like the thing which makes people bleed is just behind this secret door here. I like making new friends, so let's take a peek. Would like to check for traps as well as listen/sniff for anyone/thing on the other side of the door.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
The ankhat still has Chui's symbol of Nethys, correct? Yep, follow and destroy, that's my plan. Alex, any more of those stylish Nethys holy symbols? Chui saunters over to the eastern door where he pauses to listen and sniff for any evidence of anything on the other side. We'll return to our usual exploration formation roles as we prepare to move through the eastern door.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chai picks a bit of gravel out of this teeth ... Dang, nearly broke a fang on that. ... and pats off the fine layer of statue dust that's settled on his fur. Nicely done Beefy Beet, glad I was able to duck under your back swing. Please keep an eye, and a large hammer, out for a no doubt now terrified ahkhat hiding in the walls while I deal with this annoying gate. Yes, let's move to the Take 20 on the trap plan.
Catfolk Ninja Gigolo
Chui ducks flying gravel and slides over to the side of the statue opposite the Massive Melon of Murderation. Attack:
Bite 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage 1d4 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (1, 2) = 7 Attack:
Claw 1 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage 1d4 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 1 + (4, 5) = 13 Attack: Claw 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Damage 1d4 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (4, 4) = 10
