Male Goblin Ranger 1

Chuffy begins to head down the middle tunnel Stealth1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29 perception1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Nothing noticable in the room from the perception check?

Chuffy asks the group New tunnel here, plus secret tunnel from the middle room. Both go in the same direction, so what do we do. Middle tunnel, other tunnel, or split to do both?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Oi! We're an 1/8 of the way there. Thanks for the assist T!

After an assisted, semi-controlled fall from the ceiling, Now you see what I mean?! Dragon-toes mean traps and hiding and DYING! The little goblin seems to be almost vibrating, though whether it's from fear, anger, or excitement is anybody's guess.

Running over to Finn, You have anymore healing magic?! pointing dramatically at his wounds They tried to kill me!

As Ira approaches with Bawldok Into the next room!

Once Ira is ready, Chuffy will enter the next room Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Male Goblin Ranger 1

As Chuffy regains consciousness among the spikes, AIEE! Ja to vedel! Pasce všade! Dragon-prsty prichádzajúce od stien! Kabína-man to urobil schválne! Budem jesť oči! Drawing a dagger, Chuffy attempts to cut himself down, while continuing to screech unintelligible imprecations.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

I just made a 20' Macadonian pike(Sarissa)!

Male Goblin Ranger 1

After Finn's action, Chuffy will be conscious, correct?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

No one looked? What is this foolishness. As for the burning hands, I second the idea of not roasting the goblin.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

No one noticed that extra tunnel there? -_- We need a rogue. Two points, wouldn't the kobolds go first since they Nat20'd? Second, I object to the goblin being made the polish mine sweeper. That's the fighters job. ;)

Stabilization check 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15 At least I'm stable

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Chuffy continues on, sneaking ahead to look into the unexplored room.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

AIEE! The numbers! Make them stop! ^_^ So, we've got on Kobold still standing, yes? One dead, and another unconcious. Let's kill the last one and get to the looting!

Chuffy follows Ira, keeping an eye out for more hidden kobolds. I knew it! I go into the room, nothing is there. I leave, they suddenly appear, from the wall!

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Depends on where they were before they closed to melee. DM knows so he can adjudicate. *Edit. Ninja'd by da DM.

Startled by the sudden appearance of the creatures, and the explosion of color, Nose lunges toward the kobold still standing. Standard action: charge. Bite 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Next round Nose continues to focus on his kobold. Bite 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Poor Nose. Just not his night I guess.

*Edit. Sounds good to me. It'd be a shame for the poor wolf to miss twice. On Kobolds no less. For my own edification, wouldn't Nose's charge take place when the kobold's are firing their weapons before they move, or are do they have a full round to act before our partial action? Thanks. Still learning the rules.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Just making sure, there appear to be no other exits from this room?

Heading back to the rest of the group, That room is empty and doesn't go anywhere. Somebody good at spotting things check it really carefully. Dragon-toes can hide in the walls, then stab you in the back! Chuffy says the last with obvious conviction. Alright, not-blind, big-person. You and me go that way. Pointing to the unexplored room.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Chuffy continues to sneak ahead. Not good, not good. Where are they?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Oh boy, not liking this at all.
Not good, not good. Dragon toes know we're here. Dragon toes with all their nasty traps, looks like they caught some gobbos.

Chuffy gestures to Ira and heads back to the main group. Whispering Dragon Toes know we're here. They were busy eating food up ahead, left food lying on the group. Skinned some gobbos too. Tunnel goes left and right. Right looks bigger. Which way? I say right. Bigger room, harder for the big people to get stuck.

Once the group reaches a decision, or after a round if no decision had been made, Chuffy heads back to the main room and begins looking around. Unless the party chooses the left, he'll then head down the right.

[ooc]perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Chuffy continues to sneak forward, Bad idea, bad idea. The big people are right behind me, dragon toes will see us for sure!

What do I see where the tunnel opens up? Party! I think it may be a good idea to put a bit of distance between chuffy and the rest. Not sure if stealth is going to be much good, with a light source right behind me.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Chuffy continues to slowly move down the passage way. continue to sneak, against anything it would be effective against and keeping a close eye out for traps. Perception1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Stealth1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

Oh wow. Seriously. I will be stereotypical and whine about how much I dislike rolling programs.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

If possible, Chuffy dis-mounts and sneaks towards the 'rock', pushing it open once he approaches. He then peaks his head around the corner to look inside.

To NosebrániťDefend:Finn Stealth:1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36 if I can't stealth to entrance, just ignore the roll.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Here here! Now I just wish poor Chuffy was a rogue with wonderful perception. Poor ranger going into a Kobold lair alone... poor C may not even have a chance.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

At a guess, you probably have the highest perception Finn.

Chuffy trots forward, I'll go the tall person. I can see in the dark and hide.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Neither Chuffy nor Nose got the DC, so we didn't find it. Maybe Tensen, Ira, or Lillith did

Male Goblin Ranger 1

I say we check out the hexes between here and there. Might be something even more interesting. I say leads the way-ish. He tells us which direction to travel and what's coming up, and Chuffy will scout a head of the main party. Easier for a wolf-mounted goblin to escape and hide from danger than a whole party on foot. What does everybody else think?

As the rest of the party comes outside, Chuffy sees the man seemingly with the party Another big person? Next time someone joins, I say they have to be proper sized.

To Bawldok New person! Where are we going and what's ahead? Chuffnose takes the lead!

In case I can't post before we head out, here are Chuffy and Nose's scouting rolls.
Chuffy. Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Nose. Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Survival 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Male Goblin Ranger 1

GM, anything on the corpse?
Chuffy waits for the people inside to finish. Geez, pink-skins are so weird. Everybody is talking about killing, but nobody is doing anything. Weird

I'm enjoying the role-play, but, like Ira, this all seems a bit odd to Chuffy

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Nope. I'm a goblin. Chuffy wanders back to the corpse by Ira and begins looting/checking it out. Generally, I say we take the money and other stuff, then have him show us where the Kobolds are. Sounds interesting.

What does the body tell and what does it have.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Riding over to the enlarged, Ira Now you look like a ogre, maybe even a giant! How long does it last?

As the conversation inside the house continues, and Ira asks her question Yeah, but if you're dead then you get to do fun stuff other places. If you're in jail, you just sit in a corner... forever. He has it right, better dead that bored.

Looking over at the man, So, Lord person wants to lock you up for taking his stuff. Why not just give it back?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Chuffy continues around the house. Bow ready in case someone tries to flee. 50ft movement should place me within sight of the entire rear. If I see someone running, will shoot with bow. Next round direct Nose to charge attack, drop bow, and attack with lance. I think that should work. Move action to have nose attack, free to drop bow, draw lance as part of movement, standard to attack. Yes? If I'm wrong, second round will shoot then direct nose to attack.

Bow Attack1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 241d4 ⇒ 1
Round Two, Handle Animal 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, Nose Attack(Attack/damage/trip)1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8, Chuffy lance attack1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 142d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

*Edit. Well, since handle animal didn't work, second round will direct Nose to follow and shoot with bow again
Ride1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22, Bow1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d4 ⇒ 3

Male Goblin Ranger 1

How do you figure the party initiative bonus?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

After the man closes the door, Chuffy looks at Gimlet, People in masks cannot be trusted, and he's too tall to be straight with you. He'd have to bend. To Tensen, Next time let Ira or Finn talk. People like girls better, and don't shut doors in their face. To the group as a whole, I think they are lying. Loggers cut trees. There are no cut trees, and they don't look sick. Looking at the two big people like it is their problem, So what now?

Post was ninja'd by Tensen and Ira!
As Tensen kicks the door in, I like the now plan!. Chuffy, atop Nose, will run to the other side of the shack to: get out of the way of the big people, 'cause that is no place for a goblin, catch anyone who tries to flee, and shoot people through the windows.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Looks like I don't hear anything. Hey Finn, if burning is your style. Zarongel could always use a arsonist. ^_^

Chuffy waits for the big people to talk. Doesn't seem like time for burning or killing... boring. Just wait for the big people to finish talking.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Rejoining the group, Chuffy is almost vibrating with excitement. Two men in that room pointing the the appropriate window sleeping. That one has a man sitting by himself, and he is READING. Said with much disgust. Nobody in the front, but the room on the other side of the READING man has a bunch of stuff in it. Other one is empty.

Looking expectantly at the others, So, do we burn it down. Kill them and then burn it. Or are you big people going to do what big people always do. Talk first, then kill each other?

GM. Did I notice if any of the equipment was wet? Even if it was a day ago, somethings might still be wet, or have mud/muck/etc on them to indicate if they were in the pond.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Maptools is sweet! Thanks for these handy maps. Makes things much easier. By men, I assume you mean humans? Or is their race undetermined?

Hiding underneath the window, Chuffy gestures to the party, holding up two fingers, strokes his chin, then folds his hands under his head and closes his eyes. Pointing at himself, then to the next window, he mimes peering through the window. Chuffy will do this for the other three windows, then return to the party. Baring something happening, of course.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Backtracking to when Chuffy discovered the tracks.
Spotting the prints, Hey! Hey! Everybody look at this! Thing went to the pond with shoes. I'd say about a day ago. When he went in, light on his toes, when he went out, heavy he goes. What did he take? Nobody knows?

After the party reaches the house.
Grinning up at Tensen, We are the sneakiest, but Finn is right, don't want people shooting at us for looking through windows. I'll sneak around the house, see what we can see, then tell you what I see. To NosePobytu. Sledujte.

goblin:
Stay. Watch.

Chuffy begins sneaking around the house staying within the trees/bushes where he can hide.
If it matters, he'll be heading party left around the house Stealth 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27 Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 If I see nothing or nothing happens while heading around the house, Chuffy will look through the window in front of him and Tensen.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Snapping a salute to Tensen, Aye Aye! Chuffy directs nose to follow Lillith, Nasledovať. Sledujte. Opatrne.

Perception, to notice anything as we follow the scent. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Survival, to find a visible trail. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Chuffy stays atop Nose through this time.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Ok, fine by me.

*Edit. Actually, how would you feel about switching out some of the combat trick for hunting tricks? Seek or track sounds more goblin-ish than guard. If no, it's fine. I'll just go into a corner, sob, and seek comfort in large amounts of confectionery.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Jacob. Makes sense and thanks. Tensen, could be, but I think it's legit. We never train our dog and it acted much as Jacob described Nose's actions. Never tried it with a wolf though.

A Sock! We should follow and see what we can smell. Since there is one sock, perhaps it is a one legged man?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

No hidden things in the hexes to find?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Seconded. I suggest Chuffy takes whichever watch occurs after moonset. He's got darkvision, so that makes the most sense.

Hex 2 (It looks like we're getting plenty of food from the other two, so my checks are purely investigative, unless we come across something particularly juicy, like a gathering of deer/elk/boar/etc. Nose can communicate things he finds, just like a hunting dog would.)

*Edit The dice don't hate me! Oh fabjuous day! I hope the be something good, because I think Nose got a twenty in there... somewhere. I did too!

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Drugs make everything better, unless you're trying to folk dance, then it makes everything hilarious. True Story.

I concur with everything that's been said so far. We'll keep the pattern, exploring each hex thoroughly. Chuffy and Nose will be keeping a special eye out for indcations of kobolds in the next hex, since the tracks seemed to go in that direction. Also, keeping an eye out for potential food sources. Not just for immediate survival checks, also for areas that would be good to visit in the future. General idea is taking it slow and careful now, so next time we travel through we can do it quickly and not worry about finding food.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Alas fair party members, my brain is turning into goo, and I have work and research abstracts to write tomorrow. If something comes up, take a gander at chuffy's sheet and play him. There's a bit of Chuffy inside all of us. Adeiu.

P.S. This both a sign of trust, and a threat that if Chuffy's death in not suitably goblinish, his heretic cousin, the fire-bomber goblin alchemist will arrive at the tavern... for revenge!

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Bah! No buried treasure on the first day?! What is this nonsense! If I'm correct, NWW is the next hex we were headed to anyway, yes?

As everyone gathers in for the night, Looks like the dragon toes are going where we are going. We must be very careful. Nasty trap makers are sneaky and devious, with lairs full of all manner of unexpected death!

Male Goblin Ranger 1

I've got three days worth for me and Nose. Hey! How do you know all we found we some Kobold tracks? The noble nose rolled a twenty, with scent. If Kobold tracks are all that's to be found. What does our perception and surival tell us?

Nose: Survival 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Nose: Survival w/scent 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Male Goblin Ranger 1

FINN! Mask is here! peering around Somewhere. Perhaps he has turned invisible?! You never can be sure with witchy gnomes. With a word, which wanders from whine to woof, Nose appears from the shade of the stable. Chuffy gleefully scrambles aboard the noble beast, which seems, almost, to bear a martyred expression Time to go, to fight, to steal, to BURN! And with that rides off to the west.

That last for about 15 to 30 minutes, depending how interesting 'over there' was before running back to see what the rest of the party is up to. This will be the pattern, more or less, Chuffy follows during the day as the party explores the hexes. Actual time away from the party varies depending on how far he needs to go to help the party explore, and if he finds something interesting that must be shown to Fionn right now. At night Chuffy will always rejoin the party, unless something noteworthy happens

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Survival 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Nose:Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Nose also has scent, which may affect things.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Yup. I say we travel three or four squares straight west(I'm after some goblins.), taking time to explore and map each fully. Unless you and Gim have mounts, the party speed will be 20ft. However, Nose and I have a speed of 50, which should let the party, between the main group traveling to/through the most direct/interesting/dangerous looking areas and Chuffnose zipping to and fro to everything else, explore a single hex a day.

That actually sounds a lot like hiking with our dog. We walk in a straight line to wherever we're going, more or less, and she runs everywhere else.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Scittering to a halt, Morning?! Yes, it is morning! Not too late at all! Time to go! Ride! Charge that way! pointing wildly towards the west.

A bit more calmly, We are going yes?

Male Goblin Ranger 1

I approve! Let's do it. Haven't had time to read everything, but it looks like DM mentioned something about exploring hexes. Let's do that and head for the west. Favored enemy is goblinoid(Since it's one of the things I do know we can face.) and we can fit in the warrens.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Maybe I was totally confused, but isn't this a PbP so we don't have to all be online at the same time? Not that I mind, but it is doubtful I'll have a chunk of time that I can regularly plan on being in front of a computer, except possibly 10-12am MST.

We're all here, so let's decide what we're going to do, wait for the cycle(12hrs, 24hrs, etc) to pass and see what happens.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

After a glorious long dream involving slimy pickles, Chuffy enters the deserted common room and dashes outside screaming, Don't leave me yet! We haven't even gone anywhere! Chuffnose here, present, accounted for, ready

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Wow! I hadn't thought my day would be that long. Oh well. Looks Finn and crew have left, but Ax and Jack are here, possibly waiting for me. What do you say DM? Go with midget crew or with the late comers, as befits the latest one. Tell me quick and Let's go!

Sorry Finn! You know how unreliable goblins can be.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Male Goblin Ranger 1

@Finn My apologies too. My schedule is pretty wonky, being a student with 4am job tends to do that.

Indeed good GM, poor lad's only 6.

@Jackson, looks like it's up to you and me. The parties are formed otherwise. If you have a strong preference, I'll go with the other. If not, I'll be following Finn, pursuing a story of shortness, madness, slimy love, and double, triple, and possibly quadruple crossing.

Male Goblin Ranger 1

Taking the offered hand. You are talking to me because I am talking to you. It is polite. I am Chuffy. Now leaning forward Do. You. Have. A. Horse? If you do, you should eat it. Horses are vicious, evil creatures, that delight in squishing you.
