So I've probably read over the entry half a dozen times and I can't wrap my brain around the syntax of the spells entry. What I do know is: -Arcanists prepare their spells in advance (like Wizards)
This last one confuses me since they have a Spells Prepared chart and a Spells Per Day chart. So how do they work? There are two ways I can see how this goes, either... [A] --- At 1st level an Arcanist can prepare 2 spells. So let's say they have Magic Missiles, Mage Armor, and Shocking Grasp. If they were to prepare Magic Missiles and Mage Armor that day do they have unlimited uses all day of those two spells? [B] --- At 1st level an Arcanist can prepare 2 spells, but they can only cast 2 spells per day (Not factoring INT Mods for simplicity sake). Does this mean that if they prepare the 2 aforementioned spells they can cast each spell 2 times per day? If anyone could simplify this I'd be REALLY grateful!
Thanks for your answers so far, but allow me to be a little more specific... If I were to multiclass between say the Hunter and the Shaman evenly so that say after ten levels I'm a 5/5. As a hunter my pet will have grown stronger. But for game purposes could I just state that the wolf (for example) is my Spirit Animal? That way I don't have to mess with a familiar and a companion? As a result I'd understand that if my pet dies it will affect both of my classes evenly. Even if I need my GM's approval first, does this sound like a fair/balanced thing to do?
Hey all, just a quick question in regards to the interaction of companions and the Shaman class. Specifically, if I create a first level Druid with an animal companion or a first level hunter and then multiclass into the Shaman class, can that companion effectively become my Spirit Animal? I ask because I do not like the limitations on the wizard familiar table and I think a Shaman with a Spirit Wolf companion would make for an excellent combination in my opinion. I know there is already a Spirit that will grant a companion at level nine I think (need reference) but I'd like to begin early for lore and story development. Thanks in advance!
I apologize, that came out rude; that was not my intention. The reason why I did not go with Mystic Theurge is because, while it looks strong on paper, in practice you seriously limit yourself by taking it early. Pros:
Cons:
*In my case, Channel Energy (Cleric), and Bonus Feat selection (Wizard). I want my character to be able to access everything in both classes like I did with AD&D.
