Good game! Thanks for being a good sport despite Faust's cowardly tactics. He's gotta stay alive to spread the good word of Asmodeus, you know? ;-)

No worries. Also, you're actually in H11 if you move to the right, as I'm in H/I-12/13. The figment remains.

Round 13

Faust parries the attack easily, then backs up and strikes with dark energy before drawing a huge pick.

5 ft move to H/I-13/14. Touch attack again is 18 for 10 damage. Then draw heavy pick. Don't forget, let me know if you're below 4 HP.

Arbiter:
5 ft move to H/I-13/14. Standard to touch again with inflict mod wounds. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18. Damage 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 3 = 10. Move action: Draw Pick. Aid Rounds (18/30), Bull's Strength (21/30), Deathwatch (92/100), Divine Favor (3/10), Enlarge Person (4/10), Shield of Faith (5/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining (2/3), Mirror Image uses remaining (5/7), Channels Remaining (2/4), down 5 HP

Thread bump

Round 12

The image flickers and disperses as Faust retreats a step, conjuring another image before dropping his axe and speaking in an unholy voice, trying to touch Boe with dark energy.

5ft step to H/I-12/13. Drop axe. Recreate image. Cast Inflict Moderate Wounds and try to touch you. Hits a 10 touch attack, and deals 10 damage (or 11 if divine favor counts--does an inflict spell count as a "weapon"? I assume so). Anyway, I assume that misses, so if I'm still alive and I want to use the charge from the spell on the next round, do I keep the same damage or reroll?

Arbiter:
5ft step to H/I-12/13. Move action to recreate image. Free to drop axe. Standard to cast Inflict Moderate Wounds (sub out Hold Person). Touch Attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Negative Energy damage 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (5, 2) + 3 = 10 Aid Rounds (19/30), Bull's Strength (22/30), Deathwatch (93/100), Divine Favor (4/10), Enlarge Person (5/10), Shield of Faith (6/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining (3/3), Mirror Image uses remaining (5/7), Channels Remaining (2/4), down 5 HP

Round 11

You don't have to put your saving throw rolls in view--you can do those in the spoiler and just put the results in ooc tags, like with attack rolls. I asssume you mean G-9, cuz I'm in H/I-10/11. Figment is still there.

The dwarf smiles as the dog faints. He steps back, dropping his axe and chanting some words. Boe's hammer starts heating up as Faust picks up his own weapon again.

5ft move to H/I-11/12. Drop axe. Cast a spell. You may attempt a reflex save to drop your weapon and avoid damage. If you choose not to attempt a reflex save or if you fail, you take 9 fire damage. Move to pickup axe again.

Arbiter:
5ft step to H/I-11/12. Free to drop axe. Standard to cast Burning Disarm. 3d4 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9. Move to pick axe back up. Aid Rounds (20/30), Bull's Strength (23/30), Deathwatch (94/100), Divine Favor (5/10), Enlarge Person (6/10), Shield of Faith (7/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining (1/3), Mirror Image uses remaining (6/7), Channels Remaining (2/4), down 5 HP

Oh, Ok. I don't read spoilers, so I didn't know--in the future, just put the result in ooc tags so your opponent knows if you failed or succeeded. And by future, I mean RIGHT NOW--BOOM, here comes the... (sorry, just saw that movie).

Round 10 finished

Another burst of energy emanates forth as Faust steps back from his opponent.

Channel for 5 damage (bleh), then 5ft back to H/I-10/11. WS for half damage.

Arbiter:
Channel energy again. 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5 5ft step to H/I-10/11. Aid Rounds (21/30), Bull's Strength (24/30), Deathwatch (95/100), Divine Favor (6/10), Enlarge Person (7/10), Shield of Faith (8/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining (2/3), Mirror Image uses remaining (6/7), Channels Remaining (2/4), down 5 HP

That was actually your Round 10. One thing--you're supposed to do reactive rolls first, and in this case you forgot to do your WS vs my channeling, which should have been those two attack rolls (and your attacks would have followed your saves). I don't want to deprive you of your hard-earned hit, so perhaps we can compromise where you keep Boe's attack and just roll a retroactive WS on your next turn and I'll count Caesar's roll as his Will Save (which I assume fails), and if he survives my AoO you can reroll his attack. Fair?

Round 10--start

My AoO hits 24 AC vs Caesar for 13 damage. I have Deathwatch on me, so if either of you has 3 or fewer HP left or 4 or more HP left I can tell by looking at you. Which category is Caesar in? I just need to see his status before I continue my turn.

Arbiter:
AoO vs Caesar with Axe. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 Damage, including whetstone 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 = 13 Turn paused to see results of AoO.

Aid Rounds (21/30), Bull's Strength (24/30), Deathwatch (95/100), Divine Favor (6/10), Enlarge Person (7/10), Shield of Faith (8/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining (2/3), Mirror Image uses remaining (6/7), Channels Remaining (3/4), down 5 HP

Sorry for the delay--real life stuff yesterday

Rounds 5-8

Stuff happens...

DCs to see me are 25, 19, 17, and 29, respectively.

Round 9

After less than a minute of hellish chanting, Faust reappears onto the scene. He is enormous, there are two of him mirroring each other with their movements, and a burst of unholy energy shoots forth from him.

I'm in H/I-9/10 with axe drawn and a duplicate of myself (as well as 10 ft reach). Channel energy vs both of you, damage is 7, WS DC 12 for only 3 damage.

Arbiter:
Round 5, move action to draw scroll of Deathwatch. Cast Scroll. 5ft move to B-11. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

Round 6, move action to draw scroll of Divine Favor. Cast it. 5 ft move to C-11. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19

Round 7, move action to draw potion of Enlarge Person. Drink it. Enlarge to C/D-10/11. 5 ft move to DE-10/11. Stealth 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17

Round 8, swift to draw scroll of Shield of Faith. Standard to cast it. Move action to H/I-9/10 (draw battle axe on the way). Stealth 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29

Round 9, move action to create a duplicate with domain power. Standard to channel energy. 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7.

Aid Rounds (22/30), Aid Temp HP (10/10), Bull's Strength (25/30), Deathwatch (96/100), Divine Favor (7/10), Enlarge Person (8/10), Shield of Faith (9/10), Mirror Image rounds remaining (3/3), Mirror Image uses remaining (6/7), Channels Remaining (3/4)

Well, those both miss, so I would say reroll, but the truth is that it won't matter anyway. I'm not planning on being adjacent to either of you. I don't have time to post it now, but do you want me to just do a quadruple turn when I can?

I'm going to buff for 4 more rounds before I fight. I know it's annoying--this was the best way I could think of to get a cleric to have a chance against all these bruisers. I hope you can face Arian sometime soon. He has a bit less "finesse" :-)

Round 4

The dwarf is still absent, and his movements can be heard distantly over the boos of the crowd.

[ooc] It was perception DC 36 to locate [/dice]

Arbiter:
Move to A-10. Stealth (+4 for distance)1d20 + 15 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 15 + 4 = 36. Cast Bull's Strength. Invisibility rounds (26/30), Aid Rounds (27/30), Aid Temp HP (10/10), Bull's Strength (30/30)

Round 3

Caesar smells the dwarf moving to the east, then loses his scent.

The dog smells me move to I-7, then loses my scent entirely.

Perception DC 30:
I'm in B-6.

Arbiter:
Withdraw to B-6 with the following path:I-7, H-6, G-6, F-6, E-6, D-6, C-6, B-6. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30 Invisibility rounds (27/30), Aid Rounds (28/30), Aid Temp HP (10/10)

Ok, so he smells me in I-6 and then moves adjacent to me. What square? Any actions from Boe?

Oh, does he have 30 ft scent? My last opponent only had 15 ft, and I thought that's what you said above in post 57, so that's why I said 15.

My path was: K-12, K-11, K-10, K-9, K-8, J-7, I-6

When I’m at K-11 and the dog is at L-12, he knows where I am. From K-11 I could have moved to K-10 and continued left, moved to J-10 and gone NW, or moved to J-11 and gone straight up, or curved around. If you want to have him go due west to search for me, that’s fine.

When doggie gets to L-8 he can smell me. Then if he takes another move action he knows I’m in I-6. But can he communicate that sort of thing to you without moving next to me? I assume not.

Well, when I move I don't think he can tell what direction I'm moving in, right? He just knows I'm within 15 ft and then he knows I'm not within 15 ft anymore. He needs to get within range by guessing what direction, then take a move action to locate me.

Agreed

Round 2

A clanging of metal can be heard as the dwarf dodges the attacks.

Perception DC 18:
What's with these horrible stealth rolls? ;-) I'm in I-6

Arbiter:
Withdraw to I-6. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18Invisibility rounds (28/30), Aid Rounds (29/30), Aid Temp HP (10/10)

Round 1

Nothing yet.

Perception DC 18:
I'm in K-13.

Arbiter:
Cast Aid. HP 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Move to K-13. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18 Invisibility rounds (29/30), Aid Rounds (30/30), Aid Temp HP (10/10)[/dice]

Round 0

The dwarf nods a slight bow with his head only, barely recognizing the challenge.

Very well, let's not stand on ceremony. I'll kill you and your pet, if that is your wish.

With that, he chants a few words and vanishes.

If you have spellcraft, I'll keep putting Spellcraft DC spoilers. If you don't roll for it, I'll assume you have no ranks and I'll stop putting the spoilers up for quickness' sake.

Spellcraft DC 17:
Invisibility

Perception DC 33:
I'm in K-9

Arbiter:
Standard: Cast Invisibility. Move to K-9, stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 Invisibility rounds (30/30).

Sorry for the delay.

Init = 9, you're up. Good luck!

Arbiter:
init 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Unfortunately, my mirror image doesn't help me when you're not using vision to locate me. That drops me. Good game.

When you get to E/F-12/13, you note that I am in G-13.

Round 3

Still invisible.

Perception DC 19:
I'm in F-20.

Smug Arbiter:
Withdraw action, move to F-20. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 Invis rounds (27/30), Aid rounds (28/30), Aid Temp HP (11/11), Bull's Strength rounds (29/30), Image rounds (2/3), Image uses remaining (6/7)

When you get to D-11 you are 15 ft from me.

Round 2

Nothing yet.

Arbiter:
Standard: Cast Bull's Strength. Move: Create duplicate. Invis rounds (28/30), Aid rounds (29/30), Aid Temp HP (11/11), Bull's Strength rounds (30/30), Image rounds (3/3), Image uses remaining (6/7)

Round 1

Nothing but the wind.

Perception DC 32:
I'm in G-13.

Arbiter:
Standard: Cast Aid. Gain 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 temp HP. Move to G-13. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32. Invis rounds (29/30), Aid rounds (30/30), Aid Temp HP (11/11)

Sorry for the delay. Good luck to you too!

Round 0

The dwarf speaks a few words, and vanishes.

Spellcraft DC 17:
Invisibility

Perception DC 16 plus distance:
I'm in K-11

Arbiter:
Cast Invisibility. 5ft move to K-11. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

On my phone--check my profile for description

Init is 20, modifier is +3

Arbiter:
Init 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

I'll face you in a challenge match with Faust, if you want (unless Immortal wants to face you, since he missed the randomization). Immortal, you want to face Olwyn with Durgrosh? If not, can you arbitrate?

Well, with 2 will saves you actually have a decent change to shrug off the effects before I can attack. I had to buff myself in case the spell missed. I know it's frustrating, but I didn't do it to be a jerk. I did it out of much respect for the BASHA's capabilities, no joke.

Round 9

Coup de grace is 39 damage to the big guy.

Arbiter:
5 ft move up, coup de grace. Damage with battle axe, enlarged, whetstone. 6d6 + 21 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 1, 2, 6) + 21 = 39

Ok, but now it's your turn. You're paralyzed, but you can take a save again as a full-round action.

Crap, I just typed everything up and my internet went out for a minute and ate my post. Grrr. I'm going to type an abridged version in the spoiler without all the remaining times on my spells as I don't feel like doing all of that again.

Perception DC 20 to see me on Round 5, 27 to see me on Round 6.

Rounds 5, 6, 7 nothing visible

Round 8

After a few seconds of inactivity, the dwarf emerges, enlarged and with a duplicate of himself. The twins cast a spell, trying to subdue the orc.

I'm at I/J-10/11. You need a DC 16 WS or you are paralyzed. If you fail your save, I will move to E/F-10/11 and draw my axe. If you succeed, I will move to H/I-6/7 and draw my axe. If you fail, you may use a full-round action on your turn to make another save.

Arbiter:
Stealth roll for moving in round 5. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20. Stealth roll for moving in round 6. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27 Round 5 move down to H-10 and cast Divine Favor from a scroll. Round 6 move down to I-10 and draw Enlarge potion. Round 7 Drink Enlarge potion (I/J-10/11) and create duplicate with trickery domain. Round 8 cast Hold Person and move depending on his save results.

Round 4

Nothing visible yet.

DC 33 Perception to find me.

Arbiter:
Swift: Draw scroll of Shield of Faith. Standard: Cast scroll. Move: To G-10. Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 Invis rounds remaining (26/30), Death watch rounds remaining (97/100), Aid rounds remaining (28/30), Aid Temp HP (7/7), Bull's Strength rounds remaining (29/30), Shield of Faith rounds remaining (10/10).

Round 3

Faust does not respond to the orc's goading.

Arbiter:
Cast Bull's Strength. Invis rounds remaining (27/30), Death watch rounds remaining (98/100), Aid rounds remaining (29/30), Aid Temp HP (7/7), Bull's Strength rounds remaining (30/30).

No worries man, it's all good. Round 2

Still invisible, back to you.

Arbiter:
Cast Aid. Temp HP: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Invis rounds remaining (28/30), Death watch rounds remaining (99/100), Aid rounds remaining (30/30), Aid Temp HP (7/7)

I'm still around, but Arian is dead several times over. GG, y'all!

Yeah, I can't pass it up when I can get it at Level 3, you know. And, whoaaaaa, what's up with THE BASHA casting spells now? WHAAAT? ;-)

Round 1

No sign of the dwarf.

Arbiter:
I'll draw my deathwatch scroll and cast it. Rounds remaining: (100/100)

17 for me with the higher Init bonus, so I'm first. Good luck!

[ooc] Round 0

The dwarf sizes up his opponent and says a few words of power, vanishing.

DC 27 perception to find me.

Arbiter:
Init 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Standard to Cast Invisibility, 5 ft move to K10. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

Arian nods to Bruno and holds his ground.

I'll keep taking a total defense until one of the summoned creatures or Jezebel appears.

Are all the eagles dead? If so, I will ...

5ft move up and to the left and total defense. [/ooc]

Sorry for the delay

Round 2

Arian steps up, drawing a sickle and chain and whipping it around with malicious intent at one of the summoned birds.

Move to I/J-15/16. Attack L-19 bird--hits 26 AC for 17 damage.

Smug:
Move to I/J-15/16, draw Kusarigama. Attack L-19 bird, two-handed 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26. Damage 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Enlarge Person rounds remaining (8/10), Bull's Strength rounds remaining (29/30).

Smug Arbiter wrote:

It does not say weight because it says" a surface capable of supporting it", a surface can only support weight. It's a surface, it can't support the needs of your respiratory system or anything if its that what you mean.

But we can let the others wheigh in.

I understand that interpretation in terms of RAW, but I disagree as far as RAI. I believe it was intended for the purpose that Jezebel was talking about--meaning, no summoning a whale in the air or on land (to block a door or something). It seems reasonable to me to allow flying creatures to be summoned in the air. What squares are Bruno and Esmeralda in? I'll try to get my turn up soon.

Coup de Grace, since all fights are to the death.

CDG damage is 37. Good game!

Arbiter:
CDG with axe 6d6 + 15 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 3, 3, 5) + 15 = 37

Ah, ok. Thanks!

Well, Burning hands says it sets combustibles on fire of things that it "hits". That's the part that I don't know if it matters--you made your save, but still took some fire damage from it, so I'm not sure if you catch fire or not. Making your saves, you've taken 20 damage. Do you have more than 4 HP, exactly 4, or less than 4? Remember, I can tell just by looking at you from my spell. Also, 24 actually misses my AC, so my image was dispersed from the first hit but the second hit missed.

Round 8

Again the dwarf is guided by his evil god, knocking aside a sword thrust as his image winks out, then striking the swordsman before creating another image of himself. Both dwarves smile slightly, one of contempt, as they call upon the unholy power once again and send a wave of negative energy at the samurai.

AoO again hits you instead of an image, hits 21 AC for 7 damage. I then 5ft move back and create another image of myself, then channel energy again. The channeling deals 10 damage, WS DC 12 for half damage again.

Arbiter:
AoO axe swipe 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 Does it hit? 1 is Jack, others are image 1d3 ⇒ 1. Damage 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1) + 5 = 7. 5ft step back again. Move action create another duplicate. Standard: Channel Energy again. 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10 Temp HP (7/7), Aid rounds remaining (23/30), Mirror Image rounds remaining (3/3), Bull's Strength (24/30), Deathwatch (95/100), Enlarge Person (6/10), Shield of Faith (7/10), Trickery domain uses remaining (4/7).

Round 7

Despite the confusion of the images, the axe strikes home. The dwarf then backs up 5 ft, praying to his dark god and releasing a burst of unholy energy.

Did you make the reflex save or fail? I believe you take damage from being on fire on your turn--I'll have to check on that. Also, I cast a spell earlier when I was invisible-- if you're ever at 4 HP remaining please let me know, and if you're ever at 3 HP or less, please let me know. Also, you should post what AC you hit and whatnot because if you roll high enough you can disperse my image.

AoO hits 26 AC for 14 damage, doesn't hit an image. I then channel energy for 8 damage, WS DC 12 for half damage. I don't believe I need a free hand to channel due to my birthmark trait, but if so I will drop the axe after the move, channel, then pick the axe back up.

Arbiter:
AoO axe swipe 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 Does it hit? 1 is Jack, others are image 1d3 ⇒ 1. Damage if hits, includes whetstone 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14. 5 ft move back, channel negative energy. 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8 . If I need a free hand I can first free action drop axe, then move action pick it up after channeling.

Round 6

Suddenly, the dwarf appears--there are two of him, actually, and both have grown to tremendous size. From the intertwined forms of the two dwarves, a cone of flame bursts forth, setting the samurai's clothes on fire. Both dwarves then draw an axe and await any reprisal from their burning foe.

I'm at G/H-9/10, large sized, with two of me. Reflex Save DC 15 for half damage. 5 fire damage if you fail, 2 fire damage if you succeed. Either way, your clothes catch fire.

spellcraft DC 16:
Burning Hands

Arbiter:
5ft move to G/H-9/10. Standard: Cast Burning Hands 3d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) = 5. Move: Draw Battleaxe. Temp HP (7/7), Aid rounds remaining (25/30), Mirror Image rounds remaining (2/3), Bull's Strength (26/30), Deathwatch (97/100), Enlarge Person (8/10), Trickery domain uses remaining (5/7).

Arian shrugs and, seeing that he has no foes to face in the immediate future, chugs another potion.

No visible effects, 5 ft step to F/G-10/11.

Since this is an exhibition, can I go over my consumable limit with no penalties?

Smug:
Move draw bull's strength potion, standard drink. Enlarge Person rounds remaining (9/10), Bull's Strength rounds remaining (30/30).

Round 5

Still nothing...

Sorry, almost ready to break invisibility :-/

Perception to find me is 34

Arbiter:
5ft move to F/G-9/10. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 Swift action to draw scroll of Shield of Faith. Standard action: Cast Shield of Faith. Move action: Domain power to create mirror image. Temp HP (7/7), Aid rounds remaining (26/30), Mirror Image rounds remaining (3/3), Bull's Strength (27/30), Deathwatch (98/100), Enlarge Person (9/10), Trickery domain uses remaining (5/7).

Round 4

The crowd continues to throw things at the missing combatant.

Note, you might not want to delay, as it doesn't really do anything in a one on one combat. You'd be better off with a ready action.

Perception DC 42 to find me

Arbiter:
Move action: draw potion of enlarge person. Standard: Drink potion. Enlarge to squares E/F-9/10. Stealth 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (7) + 35 = 42 Temp HP (7/7), Aid rounds remaining (27/30), Bull's Strength (28/30), Deathwatch (99/100), Enlarge Person (10/10)

Round 3

Still no sign of the dwarf.. Exciting match, huh? ;-)

Perception DC 36 to find me.

Arbiter:
Move action: Draw Scroll of Deathwatch. Standard: Cast Deathwatch. Stealth 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (1) + 35 = 36 Temp HP (7/7), Aid rounds remaining (28/30), Bull's Strength (29/30), Deathwatch (100/100)

Round 2

Only the cheering, and booing, of the crowd can be heard.

Perception DC 25:
I'm in F10.

Arbiter:
Standard: Cast Bull's Strength. Move action to F10. Stealth 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
