I also don't think it would be unbalancing to have some oracles gaining access to the druid spell list

I agree, and was actually going to post the same thing. Yes, the cleric divine spells are great for support, but the druid spell list seems to fit the oracle quite well. Allowing them to select from either list would be ideal. With how restricted their spells are, having a wider choice of spells would be great.

There is no mention for the Mount if the cavalier's levels as a druid or ranger stack for the purposes of granting a mount special abilities. If the ranger/druid is forgoing a animal for a mount, I hope they do.

Why doesnt the mount gain the share spells ability? It would be extremely helpful to give the mount the same protection or bonuses that the cavalier got when casting spells on them. This was one I was hoping to see kept.

What about a paladin/cavalier? Does the bonus for a bonded mount stack with the cavalier bonuses? It doesn't say, but I would hope the do.

Also (and I know it would come up), what about the powerful mount abilities that paladin's have? They could get a griffon, or even a dragon, with the right feats (and delaying their mount til a higher level).

Although I don't particularly like the Oath of Greed (it just isn't "heroic", although since Cavaliers can be any alignment, I guess thats ok), I do have a problem with the mechanics.

It requires the character to come into possession of a single item worth 1000gp per cavalier level, and provides a +1 bonus to three skills (+1 ever 5 levels). So to get a +1 bonus at level 3, you have to find a 3000gp item? Maybe I'm just stingy as a DM, but I don't think most low level characters are going to stumble across expensive items that they can "hold hostage" for a +1 skill bonus.

And the cavalier keeps the bonus if he sells the item for "proper compensation"; for how long? I'm assuming til the end of the day, but technically hes still keeping his oath (unless he just ran out and spent all that cash at the tavern).

Definitely not an oath I would allow a player to use, although maybe an NPC....

Yep, this was the one I was thinking of. Thank you.

I am drawing on a lot of other material, especially the Dragonlance "barbarians" and some of the old gazateer/hollow world publications to flesh out the area. And I'm using the geography from the FR Atlas, just cuz its there. Ok, I'm off to make maps. =)

I vaguely remember reading a rather lengthy article in Dragon several years back about a campaign setting with a North American vibe to it. I was thinking this would be great source material to use for the area north of Maztica (which my players are exploring, at the moment). Anyone know which issue this was in, so I don't have to go through all my boxes?
