Cerinwë rows up and discharges his passengers, then ties off the boat.
"We have done well this day. Is it finished, do you think?"

"Are we sure it's dead? whispers Cerinwë. "It's not regenerating or playing dead?"
The elf goes to make sure it is most sincerely dead.

Cerinwë looks about for a rowboat or skiff. If he spies one, he runs to it.
If it is more than a short run away, he casts expeditious retreat on himself and then runs to it.

Cerinwë wishes he had some method of aiding the townsfolk, and hopes that they can swim at least a little. He removes a vial of violet fungi poison from his pouch and carefully applies it to a frost arrow.

Cerinwë is almost out of offensive spells, but this one is an easy call. No longer maneuvering for position, he gestures intently. Blades of cyan force erupt from the elf's thin fingers and scream across the battlefield to strike the unearthly monstrosity threatening his companions.

Cerinwë fires magic missiles at the guard in front of Andrei. If he drops, the remaining missiles go to the one in front of Mijanor.

Cerinwë runs after the vile keeper of the asylum. As soon as he is within sight, the fires a prized frost arrow from his bow.

Potential Damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (3) = 6 (the 1d6 is cold damage)

"The guard room it is, then." Cerinwë leads the way towards the guardroom and listens carefully for any sounds.

Cerinwë draws his bow, but is unwilling to fire without Mijanor's assent.

"We are here to save lives," whispers Cerinwë. "Stopping the creature is just one way of doing this. We ought to kill the torturer now."

"The corridors appear to be the cells of the sanitorium, though I doubt it actually merits the name. That appears to be a guard room," he says, pointing east. "Let us begin with these large doors," he says, pointing west.

"Calm yourself," says Cerinwë. "You are most assuredly not on the menu. We are here to rescue you. Desist. You will be unharmed."
Turning to his companions, he says "We go down, do we not? Evil, it seems, rarely turns its thoughts to an aerie or pinnacle, but ever it is found downwards, is it not so?"

Central hallway it is, then. Listen carefully for the sounds of the guards coming another way.

"Jawn, back up!"
Cerinwë casts web on the door at the far end of the hall. The 20' burst will catch Jawn at its edge, but he should easily be able to slip out of it.
"Leave them. They're not what we came to fight. Let's look for another route back this way.

Satisfied, Cerinwë rushes down the hallway, taking up a position 10' north of Andrei.

"Go back inside," says Cerinwë. "Shut the door and stay in there. It is dangerous out here."
The elf doesn't trust the seeming nonchalance of the man, particularly not with the fresh blood. He reaches across to his left hip and draws his sword. If the man attacks, Cerinwë will counter him.
[Readied action - Attack if attacked. +2 to hit]

"Why does Evil always hire the stupid ones?" Cerinwë asks Mijanor.

Cerinwë points the wand again. "Walk towards me and you can go out the front door here. Do anything else and I'll make sure you can't move a muscle. You don't want to know what happens after that."
[Readied action - shoot the guard with the wand if he does anything but leave by the front door.]

Cerinwë draws his sword and approaches the downed man. "Stay down. You'll be alright in a few minutes and this isn't worth dying for."
[Move up to flank the guard Andrei is fighting. Obviously, if the downed guard takes an attack of opportunity, Cerinwë will stop there.]
