This is...disconcerting. The thought is something of an unwelcome one, and yet Cerebeth is not able to dismiss it. That so grand a technological advance as the town's eponymous Torch should just sputter away one day seems an ominous sort of warning that Cerebeth is unable to completely dismiss. If even the Torch itself could die, then...

With a minute shake of her head, Cerebeth forces her mind away from the path which it has followed all too often in the days since the Torch's violaceous flame faded away. Taking some time away from this place may be advantageous, she decides. There is little to gain from lingering here. Logic dictates that the fires will either reignite of their own volition, or that they will not. Either way, events will proceed whether I am here or elsewhere.

Her stomach twinges, reminding Cerebeth that she has not eaten since sometime yesterday. She needs not check her pouch to know that her cash reserves are slim, but buying food is not yet too much of a stretch. Bing's Bells and Whistles usually has acceptable nourishment at prices that are not too extravagant, and so Cerebeth resolutely turns her back on the darkened Torch, heading west toward Bing's establishment.

Yep, I've bookmarked this as well. Looking forward to starting when everything's ready. Something special is almost always worth waiting for.

In all seriousness though, as far as I'm concerned, take whatever time you need!

The house rule makes sense to me, and I am quite sure Cerebeth knows nothing of the world outside Torch. She's been to a few places where there were technological ruins to study near the town, but that's pretty much it.

Also, I realized now that I forgot to put a number to how well Cere would likely be known around town. I'd put it at a 2 to 2.5 probably. I doubt that many people would know her by name; it's more likely that she's just known to have associated with one of the technology-focused scientists around town.

Hello everyone! Glad to hear someone has a diplomacy-minded character, as I'm afraid Cerebeth is about as blunt as a crowbar. Cerebeth has been in Torch for the entirety of her existence. I don't know whether her race would be readily apparent or not, but those who've lived here for long would probably have seen her around town with one of the technologists. I'd guess she's not overly well-known, but please, make your own assessments on that. She's not the sort to go out on the town with any regularity! Her sharp tongue and blunt attitude might well be remembered in a few places, however.

I can promise that Cere will flub things somewhat regularly, all the while utterly convinced of the rightness of what she's doing, though I'll hopefully not let her get irksome with it.

Personally, I work entirely too much, but tend to be around on the forums a good bit of the time via the wonders of my iPhone and laptop. I'm on the US East Coast, and tend to be around anytime between 5am and midnight. I've no idea what this "sleep" people speak of might be.

Anyway, I very much look forward to playing with you guys and getting to know your characters better. :)

All right. I think I have this alias more or less complete. There's a few details I'll elaborate upon with you if Cere is selected, Terquem, though we've already touched on most of that. Let me know if I've missed anything dreadful!
