"When the midwife who delivered Cassius slapped his arse to make him cry out, she broke 'er fingers." Cassius overheard his caravan companions whispering several spots over. He recognized the low, gravelly voice of the one whispering as one of his travelling companions, a barbarian from the same tribe as himself. The two of them were escaping the blighted wastes of Numeria on a trade caravan together, and it sounded like his ally had begun weaving tales to another passenger.

Cassius peeked open the blinds of the wagon to look up at the sky. It was morning of the 24th day of travel, and that meant if all was well they'd be arriving in Absalom by midday. Their horses strolled down what would be their final dirt road, amidst green grass swaying in a breeze that was warm with the smells of spring. It was a paradise compared to his home.

"Aye, it's no jest! And ye see that hammer he's got there? Ye might think it looks like rubbish, but he once killed an Annihilator Robot with it in a wee single blow!" The barbarian's voice rose in excitement and Cassius gave an audible—albeit involuntary—snort at the riduclous proclamation. He leaned over to look at who his ally had cornered with tales of adventure now.

A halfling child sat beneath the Numerian barbarian, listening to his whispers in wide-eyed wonder. Cassius shook his head and shuffled a seat over to join them. "You're telling the boy stories now, but before long they'll be telling tales of us. Ones that are true." He gave his tribesman a pat on the shoulder as he settled in, his heavy armor shuffling to the floor with a series of clanks. "We'll be arriving soon brother, are you ready? Absalom is the birthplace of gods and legends," Cassius grinned, "I have extra soap if you'd like."

Only 20 years old, Cassius was unusual from birth even by Numerian standards. His flesh was unusually hard and resisted injury, like a natural layer of armor, and his skin was a smooth ivory white; it was as if he were carved of marble and given life. There were always rumors that he wasn't human, but most simply blamed the blighted waters of his homeland for his otherworldly traits.

Cassius was a fighter, found abandoned as a baby and raised by his tribe in the Numerian wastes just outside Starfall. Trained in the savage style of singular, crushing blows, he wielded a sledgehammer as large a man and just as unwieldy. Unlike most of his tribe he was fascinated by the world outside of the wastes, and tales of knights and magic always captivated him. As time went on, one title always arose in their stories.

"Pathfinder."

Cassius said the word aloud and began sifting through his bag before withdrawing an old, worn book. It's cover was barely legible from years of damage, and the corners were splayed in every direction. Various pages were marked with multicolored tags and it was clear this tome had seen years of hard use. Across the front read Pathfinder Chronicle, but the volume number had long-since been eroded away. It was his prized possession, and in it they spoke of a lodge in Absalom. A place where heroes were born, forged in the fires of adventure to make names that would be remembered in the halls of history. Today he was going to become a Pathfinder.


Appearance/Personality:

Cassius stands tall at 6'1" (185cm), with a broad stocky build appropriate for a warrior. His smooth straight hair is the color of dark chocolate, and he keeps it held back in a ponytail by a red ribbon given to him by his adopted mother. He's young, and the features of his face are soft and effeminate save for a trio of scars across his face; souvenirs from a scuffle with a Gearsman. Cassius takes his self-grooming seriously, and in camp his time is usually spent brushing out his hair, scrubbing his clothes, or polishing his armor. He's typically found sporting a full set of plate mail that's adorned with trinkets and trophies from previous adventures, and he battles with an enormous sledgehammer carried over his shoulder. Completing his ensemble are two canvas bags resting across his back, both overpacked to nearly comical levels.

Bold and overconfident Cassius is always taking a step forward, driven by a deep-set belief that regardless of circumstances or situations he'll not only succeed, but excel. He can always be seen wearing a smile, and his lack of world travel provides him with the wonder and energy of a youth experiencing things for their first time. Always eager to make a new friend and equally excited to crush foes beneath his hammer, Cassius dreams of being a hero spoke of in legends and ravenously pursues glory.


Botting/Tactics:

With his slow movement speed and high AC, Cassius is most comfortable at the front of the group taking point. If an enemy is within his range, he'll typically move forward and do a basic attack.

If an enemy is in range of his charge (but not normal movement), he'll charge if that enemy is alone. He won't charge if there are other enemies around that could attack him while he suffers the AC penalty.

At Level 2, Cassius's Ability Scores will be redistributed to the following:

Levels 2 through 9 Cassius will progress as Sorcerer, his favored class will be assigned to Sorcerer, and his skills will be reassigned to favor Use Magic Device and Diplomacy. He will have the Razmiran Priest Archetype with the Blood Havoc Mutation, Blood Intensity Mutation, and the Psychic Bloodline. In-world, Cassius's ability to cast spells in armor leads him to mistakenly believe his spells are divine.

At Level 3, he will take Shikigami Mimicry as his feat.

At Level 5, he will take Shikigami Manipulation as his feat.

At Level 7, he will take Additional Traits as his feat, gaining Magical Knack and Fate's Favored as traits.

At Level 8, he will take Spell Focus: Conjuration as his Sorcerer Bonus Feat

At Level 9, he will take Greater Spell Focus: Conjuration as his feat.

At Level 10, he will take his first level of Eldritch Knight, and will take Vital Strike as his Eldritch Knight Bonus Feat.

At Level 11, he will take his final level of Sorcerer, and will take Quicken Spell as his feat.

Levels 12 through 20 he will continue as an Eldritch Knight, albeit as a retired Seeker.

At Level 13, he will take Improvisational Focus as his feat.

At Level 15, he will take Improved Initiative as his feat, and Armor Focus as his Eldritch Knight Bonus Feat.

At Level 17, he will take Improved Vital Strike as his feat.

At Level 19, he will take Celestial Obedience (Black Butterfly) as his feat, and Dodge as his Eldritch Knight Bonus Feat.
