He pauses and looks into the middle distance. "We should try and find some aeon stones too - just in case. It might help. Aily, can you set your maids to scouring the markets? I'll talk to my people in the capital, see if they can arrange anything."

Aily, I trust you can arrange something of suitable splendor." It isn't a question, he truly doesn't doubt that his maid will be able to do so and more.

I must get around to making her position official. He muses idly.

He doesn't say anything else where Seldeg can hear so it isn't until they're travelling again that he says anything.

"Seldeg's strategy seems to be sound. We should speak to Pesabnet fairly early, among other major leaders. As part of a series of audiences. We are still new Blood Lords, naturally we'd bow and scrape to the established powers. I think we start there. Telvir, you and I will lead on that. Aily, you and Humerus should investigate the lower levels of hierarchy - they'll know a lot more and I'm certain you'll find what we need."

His smile for Aily is much warmer than the one for Humerus - it's not exactly a secret within this carriage though.

He works for months, relentlessly, until at last he has done everything he can do and there is nothing left to do but see if Geb responds.

Caraid waits in the middle of the group, tapping his foot quietly. He has been setting himself up as Hyrune's antagonist. So staying quiet while he talks to the others makes good sense. He waits, spells at the ready.

He's less hurried than usual because Aily is absolutely unharmed and Ceceka enjoys the pain so there's no rush!

Only one with a noticeable time limit is Malignant Sustenance, which he'll cast on Humerus the round before go time and on Aily at the last possible moment. So Humerus will have 8 rounds and Aily 9.

While his companions have been hard at work, Caraid focuses on what truly matters - his own importance. With such a dedicated helper at his side it is only right that he be as visible and superb as possible.

To that end he focuses initially on an under-served part of society - the Quick. Although fewer than the Dead, the living Blood Lords are a not insignificant force with a lot to offer Geb. All they need is a leader and Caraid sets to work impressing his fellow Blood Lords with his munificence and magnificence. In time all things will fall into place...

Then, once Aily's performance is the only thing on everyone's lips, Caraid throws another, even more lavish party. This time the Dead are the primary invitees - balance is vital in all things and since Hyrune undoubtedly has allies it would do to neglect making contacts of his own. Caraid is openly, if politely, dismissive of the battle to come and implies more than once that he himself will not take part in the battle since it won't be needed.

"I have capable allies and even more capable servants." He says with a chuckle, drinking wine the colour of blood to match his more sanguine guests. "There is no need to sully my hands." With such an opponent is the message and the scandal of this upstart/foolish/arrogant/cocksure (delete as appropriate) Blood Lord makes ripples throughout Melchitar.

With a cue that obvious, Caraid sets to work patching Ceceka up. As usual the semi-berserker is the only one who has taken significant damage. He's glad that Aily isn't hurt - he can admit that much (to himself) but once Ceceka is done he does spend a few minutes with Telvir since the wizard has come to some mischief.
