M Halfling Thief 1

Well if anyone wants to run a game on Google Hangouts/Roll20 I'd be up for it. Can GM too.

Thanks for running a fun game, sorry it's come to an end!!

M Halfling Thief 1

We never made bonds so how do we roll aid? Just 2d6? Plus what?

M Halfling Thief 1

Is Cappy's rope still attached to anything? Can that be used to get/help Jarad?

M Halfling Thief 1

Defy Danger DEX: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 5) + 2 = 13

I assumed it was DEX/quick reflexes

Cappy quickly yanks his arm out of the way and rolls backwards

"AAAHH! Kill it with fire!! he screams as he bravely weaves between his comrades to escape the weird trap monster thing!

M Halfling Thief 1

If I can use my see through powers on the sack I do so. If not I just open it.

M Halfling Thief 1

I open the chest, what happens?

M Halfling Thief 1

I move back to the doorway then I yank that thing as hard as I can!

M Halfling Thief 1

"Can't say nothin' bout those torches, or your hearing Father, it's the walls that bother me. Look where you can see the marks along them. I'll bet these walls come in or something. Crush us flat. Let me test a theory."

Cappy pulls out 50 feet of rope and ties a large knot in the end to give that end more heft. (-1adventuring gear)

Are the torches secured or are they "free standing" on stands or something? If it's possible to knock them over I will try to do that with the rope, If not I will throw one end of the rope a the chest to see if touching it does anything.

M Halfling Thief 1

Being as Cappy doesn't trust big unguarded piles of treasure I will spend an additional hold to ask "What else is hidden here?" All out of hold now.

M Halfling Thief 1

"Wellllll, we got an army of those clay soldiers to our left, this Go-lem king is straight ahead, but this door on the right has a nice big pile of treasure in it, let's see if we can find anything useful in it, worst that can happen is we'll get rich, right?!"

Cappy opens the door to the right and looks around, again scanning for traps, spending one hold. Is there a trap in the treausre room, if so what activates it?

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy scans the area looking for traps, using my new see through powers where appropriate.

"Sit tight now, folks. Let's see what we're delaing with here."

tricks of the trade: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 2 = 12

sweet 3 hold. I spend one to ask: Is there a trap here, if so what activates it? If there is one here I tell everyone to sit tight until I deal with it. if there is NO trap I use my see powers to look through the doors

M Halfling Thief 1

I creep up and press my hands to the gate to see what's on the other side.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy will relate what he's found out through the book and also what Ordway mentioned about a painting between two sets of armor. I will say it is TRAPPED so I will of course need to the first one who examines it.

M Halfling Thief 1

buffs: 1d5 ⇒ 1

Woot I can see through stone!

M Halfling Thief 1

Sweet Cappy would have spent a couple of hours at least when he was figuring it out. And woot! cool item

INT check full bonus: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8

M Halfling Thief 1

Ha! Ok I'll call him the Ordway from now on! I also leave the razor that I stole in or near where his book was to throw suspicion onto someone else (whoever I stole it from). When I have the chance I will look through the book and glean what I can before meandering back to my group, more specifically Father Jarad if I can find him to check in and see what information they have.

M Halfling Thief 1

Was it possible for Cappy to steal the Ordway's book while he slept or during the festivites?

M Halfling Thief 1

"So Ordway old buddy, that's a pretty nifty book you got there. Anything else in it worth taking a peep at?" I'm not trying to steal it from him just yet and I don't think Cappy knows to be looking for an Orchid. Looking back I don't think that info was relayed to him but he is just fishing for info and to pal around with Ordway.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy stands in front of him and tries to make sure he's focused on him. "Hey buddy! Hey! You all right there?" He's trying to insure he doesn't look at some random stranger.

M Halfling Thief 1

When their glasses get low I offer to get the next round. I'm trying to eventually get the Goldenroot into Ordway to get him to trust me and let me look at his book or find out what else he knows.

M Halfling Thief 1

Sounds like a defy danger. I'll try to dart between the brief islands of safety in the sea of legs.

Defy Danger with DEX: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 2 = 9

9, what's my complication? To be clear I am trying to get back to Ordway's group.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy rubs his chin and remarks Now there's a neat trick, eh?Following the bald head of Father Jarad out of the corner of his eye he exclaims he has to "water the flowers" and wanders away from his new friends to follow the good Father as he searches for a body. If he can catch him he will relay the message.Hey! Father, listen up, word on the street is the big Go-Lem King smashes his castle on top of you if you attack 'em. He caves the walls and ceiling down on ya, then finishes off the wounded survivors. He's a dirty cheat, because the castle rebuilds itself, knits itself back together like. Take a good look at the bodies, see if they died from being crushed to death. Don't ask me how I know this, just trust me." with a wink he disappears back into the crowd.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy makes a mental note of both his thick glasses and his notepad and then scoffs "How exactly did he do that? Does it fart lightning bolts?"

M Halfling Thief 1

"A pleasure, Miss! So what's your all's take on this Go-Lem King?? Seems like a tough nut to crack if he's kept this many folks at bay, did you and yours run into him, Ordway?"

M Halfling Thief 1

Sorry it's just when I post it seems I don't get follow up or any pay off for what I am attempting. Not asking for everything I wanted for XMas just answers, even if the answers was "NOPE! Everyone loves Xha and is ready to go."

Cappy slides up to the groups and attempts to ingratiate himself. He elbows the man in glasses and says"He's awful excited about throwing other peoples lives away, isn't he? (pretending to notice the rapier for the first time) Ah! Do a bit of fencing myself (pointing to his own), glad to see not everyone here thinks bashing things is the way to go, but still never hurts t be prepared (thumbing to the Bugbear). Name's Cappy, mate! Pleased to meet you."

M Halfling Thief 1

[ooc]I'm sorry but why are my questions never answered? I've stated "I'm looking for peopel who aren't with us really and looking for a big dumb guy to poison" and I never get any sort of feed back from the GM to actually play Cappy the way I want. Xha gets to make speeches and the other players get the info they ask for. So can you PLEASE tell me if there is a mook I can poison with Goldenroot (which YOU gave me, btw). Woudl really like to be allowed to do my thing or at least be given something to do. I don't post often if you don't engage me. If not then I can wander off to the discard pile. Thank you.[ooc]

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy joins in the drunken revelry and partakes in a pint, not to the point where he gets drunk, though. He's more interested in finding out what he can about their new friends. He's looking for any that appear big & stupid or anyone that seems to be a dissenter, or not really on board with Xha to keep an eye on them. He's thinking of that vial of Goldenroot and thinking he might get someone else to do his dirty work for him.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy's going to position himself behind the warrior in the crowd for a quick backstab if need be and gives a Xha an understanding nod that says "Just give the word." Also just wanted to post to show I'm still here guys! Present but rarely seen liek a good thief.

M Halfling Thief 1

Loot!: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8

Cappy reappears flipping one of his new gold coins in the air and making a few feinting stabs with his new razor.

"Someone's going to be growing a beard whether they like it or not...Not the biggest haul ever, but more the principal of the thing and not with out it's merits!"

He eyes the vial of Goldenroot and smiles before he notices the swordsman. He nudges the nearest party member and asks..

"What's all this then? Who's the old geezer? I miss anything?"

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy grumbles and dissapears into the dispersing crowd for a few minutes to dip his hands in some unsuspecting pockets.

Tricks of the Trade: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 2 = 11

YOINK! Tell me what I got!

M Halfling Thief 1

Sorry, I assume you don't need the dex roll anymore? If not can I use the roll to throw a dagger at the elf who is holding the bag?

DEX roll, volley or DD: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12

success either way, so here's damage if you need it

dam?: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

M Halfling Thief 1

CAppy sees Xha leap at the troll and sees a chance for some payback, and also dead bodies to loot, yay! Cappy lets fly with a throwing dagger (from atop the mza, not moving within reach of the troll.

Volley: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 6) + 2 = 9

damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

on I 9 I will choose to put myself in danger of the GMs choice

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy wastes just a moment lamenting the fate of his coat but is soon hopping across the top of the maze toward the castle.

M Halfling Thief 1

DD with dex: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 2 = 11

Cappy has a rapier that's obvious and he's got throwing daggers

Cappy is an experienced second story burglar and is up and over pillar with ease, grumbling about his lost coat.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy pokes his head out, studying the area to make sure it's not an ambush, hissing "We got to get my coat back!"

Trap Expert: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 5) + 2 = 8

for my question I ask "What else is hidden here?"

M Halfling Thief 1

If I'm satisfied with the results of the ruse, I'll try to find a spot to hide in myself and wait for an opportunity to backstab.

M Halfling Thief 1

Can Cappy find a crack or someplace to stash his coat, trying to confuse and misdirect the trolls with quick thinking so we can attack from the darkness of the room or +1 forward or something

DD with INT: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 1) + 1 = 7

so what are my options?

M Halfling Thief 1

So is the darker area where the trolls are coming from? Also if there is small space for Cappy to hide in he is doing so., perhaps removing his big baggy coat if it is marked with scent.

M Halfling Thief 1

scout: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

Womp, womp! Sorry but we are truly lost in this maze. Cappy hasn't got any idea either.Mark XP!

"Ummm....This way fellas'...Left here for sure...no maybe a right...Does anyone have a compass?!?"

M Halfling Thief 1

Discern Realities: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

OOF! Double whammy! Mark XP!

Cappy and Father Jarad looks completely baffled. "Hmm... Looks like some sort of ring." Cappy is heard to remark.

M Halfling Thief 1

was any progress made on trying to inspect the rings?

edit: I would have approached Father and Zim since I've seen them casting spells

M Halfling Thief 1

I didn't roll anything so not sure why an Aid roll was used. I just needed someone to come over and say "I help Cappy tie the string together." I thought it was a fiction first kind of thing. Oh well.

Either way Cappy isn't making camp or resting while the others are. He'll look a little bit closer at the rings and try to talk to the anyone he thinks is magic inclined to see if we can try to attune the rings to one of the other competing parties. He will volunteer his own ring since he's not keen on people knowing where he is anyway.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy stares at Xha, fuming, as the ball of twine hits him in the face and plops to the floor.

"Would anyone with a brain care to assist?" the halfling says through gritted teeth "I only have two hands and they are both holding up boulders at the moment." he announces loudly enough for everyone to hear and wake up Xha.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy groans!

"If any of you would be so kind as to spare a bit of twine? I think fixing this wire is a better option than letting go." He motions with his eyes to the ceiling to make sure everyone understands the gravity of the situation.

HA! See what I did there!Essentially I'm going to try and fix the tripwire

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy bites the ring to see if it gold and then pockets it, unsure of how he feels about all this location finding and people watching him. "How's a sneak thief supposed to, ya know, SNEAK!" he grumbles.

He turn's his attention to the maze with a smile, finding it more to his liking. He scoots a bit ahead of the rest, careful to stay in the shadows, he surveys the area for anything that might be amiss.

Trap Expert: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 2 = 7

so I generate 1 hold and will use it to ask: Is there a trap here and if so what activates it?

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy tries to dodge the flames and seems to almost run between them,

Defy Danger: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 2 = 14

Who's horse am I on?

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy recovers his throwing knife if he is able too and then throws an arm in the air

"Scoop me up!" He shouts, then mutters under his breath at his insufferably large companions.

Looking back to keep an eye on the drake he keeps another dagger at the ready...

he will try to get on the horse of whoever is nearest him if no one gives him a hand

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy mumbles "there's always one, there's always one..." as he scans the battlefield and spots Xha, shouting something about "meat" and "dealing with things".

"I've got a big one incoming, friend!" He shouts as the burly man smashes on of the clay warriors. The agile halfing is quickly across the open field, running towards Xha hoping the fool will get the drakes attention off of him. He cackles madly as he sees the clay warriors turning to charge right where he is bringing the drake.

"Oh! This is going to be a glorious mess!" his hand clamped down on his cap, the oversized coat flapping behind him.

Alignment Chaotic: Leap into danger without a plan. Although I still "detect" as good if anyone's peeping.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy grumbles "Always free cheese in a mouse trap, bah!" and turns his back on what he believes to be an obvious trap. Turning in time to see the clay soldier advancing on the old bald guy from earlier he lets fly with a throwing knife.

Volley: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2) + 2 = 7

Partial success I will choose to put myself in danger, so I have to reposition myself away from the door to get a clear shot.

Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Cappy shouts "Father look out!" as he flicks a dagger through the air, the clay soldiers noticing the halfling for the first time.

M Halfling Thief 1

Cappy makes quick work of the roots and flings the door open to see...
