Calum's brow furrowed a bit. Not opposed to the camping bit, the "knight" was more concerned about whatever else nature might have in store for the adventurers. "I have been trained in the arts of speaking to people without offending them. However I believe that a good storyteller would be a better diplomat as she can be more fluid in her tone. The edicts of my Order make me appear soft in court. Although I would be honored to be a second Lady Isla."

"Geliglee, I am sorry that I was unable to completely protect you. Looks like a wolf got his jaws on you before I could slay it. William is a bigger wall then I so I would recommend hiding behind him next time." Calum wipes off his blade on a corpse before looking at his armor and sighing. I just cleaned it off yesterday, who would have thought that there would be so much blood during a real fight to the death? None of the stories I read ever really touched on that.

Sorry, just getting back to a regular schedule, got called away to go open a store at random because another person backed out. "Hmm, these seem to be a bit smarter than the average wolf. Calum smiles and waves to the kobolds before resting his forearm on his scabbard. Turning towards the group he speaks. "Their terms are not unreasonable, so I see no reason not to. We are not looking for a fight, and it will give them time to prepare a strategy to speak with us. During such time our strategy should be simple. Be friendly and act with honor and not to insult the Kobolds. They could provide information on the land after all." He whistles for William to come towards him. "In the meantime we might want to find this bridge. If it's not on the map, maybe Oleg or some of the former bandits know of it."

Sorry, life hit me this week like a ton of bricks, but I am back with new internet, that is much more stable. Calum urges William to move forward through the forest, avoiding some of the narrower areas. He begins to dismount, the rough forest floor might not be a good place for William to be caught off guard. Not guiding with the knees so I don't have to make checks... yet. Looking through the book, Calum digs into his purse for some gold, remembering the party had collected some. I haven't been keeping track of individual gold, I know I should, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere. "50 crowns for a book on animal training? Seems like a bargain I shouldn't pass up. To find one so quickly, I'll take it."

Calum examines the horses and riders, looking for any signs of rank or family. Dismissing any findings he approaches the halfling and extends a hand. "Well met, I am Calum, Calum Armstrong. Sorry for the silence, but I could train only 1 horse at a time atm. Not until 4 when I pick up expert training. At that point I can start training multiple animals the same trick at a time. I think I'd teach Geliglee's dog the flee trick. Just so we can have it run away when combat starts up.

"We also need your riding dog at full Geliglee. He took quite a licking, but he's a tough one. I don't think William would mind if I took some time to train him how to keep himself out of danger should we come across some more." Calum is happy with his boar kill, enough to take some for himself, and to share what remains with the guards, and if anything else is left over (such as the heart, and certain organs that are edible, maybe ask Svetlana to make some scrapple or haggis.) to share some with the prisoners.

Calum ponders the thought of the party possessing a magical wand. "An enchanted item that would grant more mystical healing than we already possess? We would be lucky to have such a thing. Depending on the price we could probably trade a few of these horses for one. We have no use for so many, it would be greedy not to trade them to somebody who could use them." Hmm, a turf war amongst the mites and the kobolds? Perhaps we could join one side and destroy both, or even aid one side and gain an ally.

Calum smiles at the two spellcasters. "Flashy and distracting is what we are going for here. Maybe not quite like the charging men Isla, but perhaps several snapping twigs, if we get that in a decent area we can draw their sight from us as we take the first post, preferably with bowfire quick and silent. Then comes the hard part. Geliglee you mentioned making a simple mirage, can it be dark like a silhouette? Place some bright dancing lights behind it, some more sound, and a dark figure holding a blade and we can get the bandits to attack that while we come up from behind and take them by surprise. Trying to think out a plan of action, Calum appears to be rather quiet, lost in thought. "Most of the higher ups, people who torture, and people who claim roles of leadership will more than likely meet the sharp end of a blade or should be given a fair trial according to the laws of Brevoy and then be sentenced. This was different. He sheathes his blade before closing his eyes and takes a deep breath. Handing a water skin to Isla he whistles at the healing. "Hmm, magical healing sure is a wonder to behold.
