Set sail from the bustling city of Sasserine into one of the most ambitious campaigns ever published in Dungeon Magazine: the Savage Tide Adventure Path. This 12-part saga begins with street-level intrigue and pirate politics before plunging into high-seas exploration, demonic conspiracies, and the ultimate threat of a tide of abyssal corruption washing over the world.

I’ll be running this campaign using D&D 3.5e, played as written with minimal house rules. Players can expect tactical combat, exploration, political intrigue, and a strong narrative arc. If you’ve never experienced Savage Tide before, this is one of the great classic campaigns—full of danger, discovery, and epic stakes.

System: D&D 3.5e
Platform: Roll20 VTT for maps, sheets, and dice; Zoom for voice/video (Discord optional for between-session chat)
Experience: Open to all levels of familiarity with 3.5e
Cost: $20 per player, per session
Age: 18+
Slots: Looking for 3-5 players
Schedule: Evenings PST (exact day to be set with players); sessions 3-5 hours

Character Creation:

    []Starting at Level 1
[]Stats: 32-point buy or 4d6 drop lowest (your choice)
[]Races: Player’s Handbook defaults (ask for approval if you want something outside it—no monster races or LA+)
[]Classes: Player’s Handbook defaults, with case-by-case approval for other sources
  • Please read or skim the Savage Tide Player’s Guide and familiarize yourself with the city of Sasserine

Table Standards:

    []No explicit sexual content
    []No excessive crude/vulgar speech
    []No real-world political debates
[]Mature themes (violence, corruption, tragedy) will appear, but handled respectfully and in line with the tone of the adventure

If you’re interested in joining, reply here or PM me with a little bit about yourself and your experience with 3.5e. Let’s set sail!

Hey all, I'm Caleb, otherwise known as Xcarthan12. I'm new to the forums and to Pathfinder in general, though I've been wanting to get into it for a while now. The Humble Bundle gave me a great opportunity to do so, and so I'm excited to delve into Golarion.

I'm pretty much obsessive with role-playing games. Even before I properly knew any system, back when I was like 8, I was making up my own RPGs to play with my friends, and we had many adventures that way, until I was about 13 or 14, when I actually learned the D&D 3.5 ruleset and we started using that. That's the role-playing game I'm most familiar with, so Pathfinder has been pretty intuitive for me so far.

Lately, I've been getting really heavily involved in other systems such as the 6th ed. HERO System, Fate, the Mistborn Adventure Game, and several one-shot systems such as Fiasco, A Penny For My Thoughts, and so on. And me and Gilen's player are actually in the process of designing our own role-playing game, which has been a blast.

I should probably point out that I've pretty much always been the GM of these various campaigns, except for a few minor exceptions.

I say all this to tell y'all that I'm very much not a new player when it comes to role-playing games. But I am new to Pathfinder, and though the idea has always intrigued, have never been a part of a play-by-post game of any sort. This'll be new territory for me in those ways, and I'm excited to get started.

But yes, in terms of playstyles I favor--besides being an avid role-player, I'm also a novelist and artist of anything story-related, so I tend to see everything in those terms. I am a very hardcore role-player, and though I don't often play as characters, I love when I get the opportunity to do so, and I'm really looking forward to this.

So yeah, role-playing, story focus all the way for me over here.

Haha well that's my spiel.

I don't see a problem with that. NOTY?

Happy to do that. Six and six because of Rhen, I'll pitch two groups later today.

Thanks! I'm excited for this...

If possible, do you think that Viviana and Gilen Reidford could be put in the same group? The player of the character is a friend of mine who bought the Humble Bundle at the same time and we applied to the game hoping to play together.

This campaign seems to be losing a little momentum, but I'd just like to go on record to say that I'm really excited to play in it, so I hope it comes about.

GM NOTY wanted to have a longer period to recruit to give more people a chance to submit characters.

Hello there! My name's Caleb and I just purchased the bundle--I've been involved in role-playing games for many years now, with the most experience I've had in D&D 3.5. I've been wanting to try Pathfinder for a while now, but because I have so many of the 3.5 manuals (and I usually GM campaigns instead of playing in them), the usefulness of having so many resources as opposed to having very little by switching over to Pathfinder was enough to keep me with 3.5.

But oh my, when I saw the bundle, I knew I had to give Pathfinder a try and I am so glad I did. Though I haven't been able to download many of the books due to the server business, what I've seen in the Core Rulebook is great and I'm excited to GM the system. But I would also love to play in it as well. And so here I am haha XD

So, all that to say, I'd love to play in this! I had a few questions, mainly what the "application process" as you described would be, and any other info you could give me on the campaign and how the play-by-post would work would be fantastic.

Thanks so much!
