Str -1; Dex +1; Con 0; Int +2; Wis 0; Cha +1 ![]() Well then, let's see how ferocious the rats are. Ratty Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3 The swarm surges up towards the illusions and Caleb, in their mad frenzy attracted by the increased number of targets. And while most of them seem to want an illusory course of meal, a few of the creatures manage to get pick the right target, climbing up Caleb's leg with claws and teeth finding purchase in muscle and flesh. "Oh you filthy creatures!" Caleb cursed crabbily, stepping up to be back to back with Gregor. Caleb had learned from their many sparring sessions that once the Slayer began scything around with his two-handed sword it was best to remain out of its reach or close enough to not be in the blade's immediate arch of movement. The purpose would be two-fold now, for if Gregor took out the ones a bit further out then Caleb's daggers could find their marks in rats closer to them, keeping them away while still making the Fighter and the Arcane Duelist the ratty center of attention. At least Mark and Adishana seemed to be doing something of use, killing rats, while Vanessa, as per the usual order, had stepped away from the immediate action and now seemed to be observing. Caleb scoffed before muttering under his breath, making the magic flow down his arms and hands abruptly change color from midday sky blue to dark purple. The rats actually at his own legs had to be dealt with before he could assist Gregor in clearing the rest of them out. But just as Caleb raised his twin daggers, one more in defense than in offense, the rats slowed. First just noticably, then to a crawl, and finally they appearsd to be still. While this was certainly a strange effect Caleb was not about to let it shake him, now was the time to end as many rats as possible! Arcane Bladework + Soul-Siphoning: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 4) + 2 = 9 Soul-Siphoning - Your attack heals you for 1d4. Heal 1d8 instead if this attack kills your target. The daggers sequentially sink into the closest rat before rising and moving on to the next one in a move that would normally have left Caleb a bit unbalanced and thus exposed to injury. If the rats had still been moving about, that is. Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6 I believe that's a kill on at least one rat so more healing for me! Soul-Siphoning: 1d8 ⇒ 1 Welp, some minor wounds patched up then. There is a small moan as the first stabbed rat dies and a ghostly light blue smoke seems to drift out of its body before the smoke is sucked up by Caleb's daggers and a red little wave of light washes over his body, healing nicks and scratches along the way while helping to stem any bleeding from worse injuries. ![]()

Str -1; Dex +1; Con 0; Int +2; Wis 0; Cha +1 ![]() Rats? Well that was something you could find in any cellar so with a dungeon of this size that wouldn't be too far a stretch of ones imagination. The surprising thing was their size, and the sheer number of them. Why, if not for Gregor's suberb blockade of the portal into the dungeon the ratty tsunami would most certainly have swept over them all by now. Initially content with seeing Gregor and his zweihander dispath them like a scythe goes through wheat, the sheer number of rodents almost gave Caleb pause. Luckily he already had his brushes gripped, perhaps Gregor would be keen to join him in painting this place? "Come now, Gregor," Caleb exclaimed as he leapt into the fray, magic dancing around his arms and flowing into the blades of his daggers, "let's give them a painting to gaze upon with wonder from the otherworld!" Stabbing at the closest rat perched upon Gregor's body, Caleb attempts to conjure tangible images to replicate the stab enough times that Gregor can wield his giagantic sword and start slicing these dogsized scavengers like a cleaver tthrough meat! Arcane Bladework + Mirage on success: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8 And I believe that's a hit while exposing myself to damage, the illusions hit the other rats for the same damage as I do to the main one, I'll leave the number of illusions up to our GM, but more than three would make sense if there are that many rats around: Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7 And there goes some rat bastards! ![]()

Str -1; Dex +1; Con 0; Int +2; Wis 0; Cha +1 ![]() Caleb warily eyes the corpse as Gregor goes to town on the door, splitting his attention between the corpse and their surroundings. Gregor knows what he is doing, and since he said he would take care of things Caleb trusted him to do such. A relatively easy thing to do since Caleb and Gregor commonly were sparring partners. ![]()

Str -1; Dex +1; Con 0; Int +2; Wis 0; Cha +1 ![]() Ok, let's go to the dungeon! And thus, with Mark as a forward scout, the remaining four of the Gallery Five step into the great cavernous system that is nowadays named after Chiesa the Unspeakable, a mad alchemist that set up shop here some generations ago. Taking careful measures to try and not look directly at the lantern Caleb allowed his peripheral vision to adjust to the darkness in the large room. Daggers drawn he could not help but feel excited over whatever they might find here in this dungeon. ![]()

Str -1; Dex +1; Con 0; Int +2; Wis 0; Cha +1 ![]() Eyes forward and hands on the hilts of his daggers, Caleb stared down the entrance to the system of caverns. The light shifted as the sun briefly passed behind some clouds and the cavern blinked first, much to Caleb's silent amusement. "I believe I have seen one of the more extensive maps of this place, back at the Arcanum Library," he spoke up in reply to Gregor's question. Trying a Spout Lore to discern the minimum depth of the dungeon here, maybe the map had references to books with additional information that Caleb has read? Spout Lore: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6 Whoops, apparently not... "The cavern network is extensive and it goes down at least 150 feet, probably a lot more. It has a lot of side tunnels so marking our way is probably a good idea. I believe that if Gregor goes first I should be the rear-guard?" The sound of Adishana's tinkering toolbox caught Caleb's attention, that and her holding out her goggles with an expectant look on her face. "Yes?" It had been intended as a question, finding out what Adishana wanted, but she seemed to take it as an answer dropping the goggles into his hands and directing him to hold them at the proper height. ![]()

Str -1; Dex +1; Con 0; Int +2; Wis 0; Cha +1 ![]() I do, but first I have two questions. When using my Arcane Bladework skill, do I first need to succeed at a Hack&Slash move before I get to roll for Arcane Blaedwork OR do I roll for Arcane Bladework alone and resolve that as a modified Hack&Slash? Also, how do you guys grt your stat modifiers spoilered at the top of your posts like that? And now onto the bonds which, from a quick look at people's backgrounds and such, I reckon would be seen like this by Caleb: 1 Adishana broke up a fight I was involved in. I was probably going to lose, but they don’t need to know that part.

![]() Ok, so it seems the dungeonworld srd is down due to malware (infected). Here is the googledoc to the Arcane Duelist Class. ![]()
![]() Okiday, so we have caverns that at least partially used to be a temple to a now fallen god, now populated by Chiesa the Unspeakable, mad alchemist extraordinaire, and all manner of unspeakable things created by him/her as well as whatever was not cleared out/has remained since the earlier times. This will be fun ^^ |
