Calahdrel listened to what Primrose reported back. And then he listened as Morwenn spoke about what they should do, Waylon offered a counterpoint, and Primrose replied. The elf frowned only lightly. He wanted to end the threat of the 'wrong' man, if he was truly taken by Shadow. For the moment, however, he stayed with caution and his allies. "Perhaps Primrose and I should stay behind to monitor the encampment and make sure the men there do not mount another attack or wander to endanger some other group."

Calahdrel examined the coins a bit out of curiosity to see what he could see. He didn't recognize them off-hand, though they were certainly interesting. He handed the coin back to Waylon after looking it over, turning his attention outwards again to watch for anyone approaching them. He glanced at Primrose. "I am happy to...sneak..." His lips twisted in to a small smile at the word, "as well. Are all of us fairly stealthy?" Lore: 1d12 + 3d6 ⇒ (11) + (4, 1, 5) = 21

Calahdrel listened quietly and kept an eye out around them for any others from the 'camp', and really anything else that might creep up on them. He looked over at Primrose and quietly asked with his back to the captive, "I take it then that you know a hobbit by the name of 'Bungo'?" He noted the name of the leader and that the silver coins were unusual but didn't interrogate the prisoner himself.

Calahdrel listened as the others spoke and questioned the man they had captured. His brow furrowed slightly as he heard the various attempts at Hobbit names, the similarity and variety of them, so close to one another and yet different. He watched the area around them, only occasionally looking back at Primrose and Waylon as they spoke. He approved of the questions asked.

Calahdrel was used to traveling in forests, so doing so quietly was not a new thing for him. He was not, however, used to traveling with companions that were not as quiet as he was. In fact, when traveling among other Elves, he had been the noisy one often as he was younger and less experienced than they. He paused and tilted his head as he thought he spied something up ahead. Something that didn't belong but was made to look like it did. Waylon confirmed it a moment later as he spoke up quietly about a trap. The elf gave a small nod. So that was what he'd sort of seen. Since it had already been pointed out, and the question he might have asked was asked, so he saw no need to break the silence of the forest.

I got a 12 on the Feat die for my Explore but I don't know that I have any Traits that would link to that aside from maybe Nimble or Elven Lore possibly? I'm not too worried about it, but those are the Traits you're talking about, right? So this was the first roll you asked for in some cases, that would be a filled-in circle next to whatever group the skill was in? Like Explore would be Survival, right?

Calahdrel followed along behind Morwenn, letting her lead the way. He gave her a small nod to her words of warning, a small smile gracing his face for the briefest of moments. Then he harkens back to his early years in forests, stepping lightly and keeping his senses attuned to his surroundings. Awareness: 1d12 + 2d6 ⇒ (8) + (3, 5) = 16

Calahdrel gave a small bow to the man. "I am sorry to hear of your loss. No one deserves to know the pain of losing loved ones. You have my sympathy." He turned to Morwenn as she got excited, eyebrows rising up as he watched her and listened to what she had to say. He frowned slightly. "That...doesn't sound like talking stones, but a lead is better than nothing. I shall accompany you."

Sorry, rl craziness going on. Calahdrel gave the man a mildly reproving look but only for a moment. Then he favored the man with a small reassuring smile. He would have reached out to give the man's shoulder a reassuring pat, but he feared the awestricken man might faint. "It is alright. I understand. Fear and suspicion are natural after an attack such as this town has suffered." He gestured to his companions. "We were told that you might have heard who the attackers were looking for? We are interested in trying to find who or what they were after to prevent further attacks if we can.

Calahdrel shook his head as they passed through the burned-out husks that once were he assumed beautiful homes and buildings. The town, once full of life, now stood so empty it almost made him shiver. He hoped that the spirits of the slain would be able to find rest, and not linger among their former residences. He smiled at the brusque man who claimed not to know the person they were speaking of. "Greetings to you. To be clear, we wish this man no harm nor ill will. We simply wish to ask some questions and then be on our way. That is all, nothing nefarious." OOC: Awe: 1d12 + 2d6 ⇒ (11) + (6, 6) = 23 So I would have 2 greater successes with 2 6s on the d6s, but I believe an 11 is Eye of Sauron which means I get a zero? But I'm not sure if that means the feat die counts as zero only or the entire roll? And just the Feat die is a zero I'm not sure a 12 succeeds anyway so. Lol. Man, me and the luck of these dice are not doing well.

Calahdrel was not certain if he was being snubbed or respected when the human asked for the ranger's name and not his. It could be a cultural issue for all he knew. He chose to err on the side of caution and not take offense. "Good to meet you, Mr. Goatleaf. I am Calahdrel." He inclined his head in response. Then he moved to follow Morwenn and Primrose out to their destination.

Calahdrel gave a slight almost-bow of his head to Morween. "I am glad to be of help. I do not like the thought of someone out there willing to go to such brutal lengths to find someone or something." He looked at Waylon and Primrose. "So long as you do not impede the information gathering, I so no reason not to. What is the human saying - the more the merrier?" His lips pursed slightly. "Such a curious turn of phrase." After a moment he dismissed the thought. "Shall we be off, or is there that needs to be done here?"

Calahdrel gave a small bow of his head to the farmers. "Thank you very much for the information." He bought them another round as promised right afterwards. Only then did he head towards the table where the woman had been called back to, one with a human and a hobbit talking. "And I am Calahdrel, since we seem to be looking in to the same avenue of information."

Calahdrel nodded to the farmers. "Thank you. Do you know where this...Arnold...could be located? It may be of some use to hear what he knows directly from him. If someone is being sought and threw so many brigands at the issue...I fear it may not be the only problem to arise searching for this person."

Calahdrel turned slightly to look at the women that walked up to 'help' him and practically demand more information from the farmers. Her tone was imperious almost and the farmers did not react well to it. She immediately tried to keep him from talking as she apologized to the farmers. One eyebrow rose up and he did not give her a kind look. He turned back to the farmers and smiled. "I know that I am only asking after this from a desire to help. It sounds as those this person doing the asking does not do so nicely nor lightly, and I would see any innocent people spared from more hardship after all you and your town have recently suffered." He couldn't help but keep a bit of the unkindness or perhaps haughtiness out of his voice that was solely directed at Morwenn, however. OOC: Is this right? The d12 feat die, plus your 'ranks' in a skill as d6 success dice, and add them together and nothing else, right? Of course I rolled super-low for my first ever die roll in the game, but I expect nothing less from me, lol.

Caladrehl had missed the battle that had come upon the village not too long ago. In fact, many seemed to still reeling from it. Sometimes the tension was thick, other times there was an aura of negative emotions like despair and grief. He was used to being stared at and given discreet looks ever since he had stepped outside of his homeland. Elves were not so rare as to be unknown or never seen, but they were rare enough to be an oddity and thing of interest. Honestly, Cal was just vain enough to like the attention most of the time, though not always. He hid the small smile whenever he noticed the looks. The talk nearby, however, seemed to grab his attention. Talk of a mysterious 'they' who were looking for someone and it seemed like not a good thing to be questioned. And a hobbit looking for her uncle if his pointed ears did not mistake him. One thing at a time, however. He stood up in a smooth, graceful motion and walked slowly to the table where the farmers were at. "Pardon my intrusion and please forgive my boldness, good men, but I couldn't help but overhear your conversation and it piqued my interest. Might I inquire what you are talking about? If needed, I shall be happy to be you both another round."

Okay, I'm happy to have plot/background hooks with anyone. Character sheet and background should be updated (and a slight name change since I kept putting a 'r' in the name anyway on accident). Hopefully the background is alright and has a decent hook for the GM. I'm thinking I might try and flesh it out a bit more at some point but the site has been going down so much, it's frustrated me too much.
