A fact that keeps getting overlooked is that Wis and Dex, both impact just about everything for a Monk (and this becomes even more true with agile manuevers and both weapon finesse, and power attack).

That means that while other characters are buying more powerful magic weapons, armor, etc., the monk can go much further by just buying stat boosters.

In another thread I'm building a 28pt buy polearm fighter...i think this comment along with the one about bullrushing the opposing wizard has made me realize that I should play a monk.

I also play in a min/max heavy group with a bloodthirsty DM. But I still want to play a monk. They aren't better at any one role at anything, but the versatility makes them just nasty. Qingong monk is a beautiful archetype and there's alot that can be done with it. Reminds me of the versatility of playing a 3.5 binder.

Caius would leap into action almost superhumanly fast. Kicking off from the sand he'd grab a bucket (or bowl) and fill it with sand and throwing it on the fire. Instead of using water, he figured he could smother the fire the way Haleena always did if something got set ablaze in the kitchen. Caius would be careful not to get too close to the flames, but continue spreading sand/water on the fire as best he could. If someone got hurt by the flames, he'd pull them to safety. Whatever was required of him, he'd do.

*must have missed the previous post*

Instead of sand, he will attempt to help with the wagon.

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Not one to interrupt, he'd speak up at the man's claim.
"I travel for the sake of traveling. It may also be that in this direction I can find someone who has gone missing. But the truth, the heart of the matter, is that the rest of the children from my home have gone and set out to explore the world, but this is my first real step into her embrace."

He'll stand and take a drink of his water as he approaches the rest of the group.

"My name is Caius Ild, and many call me a Forgotten Son. The origin of that name is not a tale for now though, I am afraid. It's interesting to see just how many slaves have decided to make the trip out here though. Do you really think you'll earn your freedom in this manner?"

He isn't trying to crash any dreams, only make sure they understand the dangers of their logic.

Caius observes silently, preferring to listen and learn than to speak and interrupt. He will consume rations and water from his skin instead of choosing to hunt. Survival isn't his thing.

The loose fitting clothes of his desert gear makes the majority of the trip alot easier than those outfitted with heavy, metallic armor. He assumed he'd eventually have to invest in some, but for now he was content with the leather he wore. He spent most of his time to himself, not bothering to speak for the moment. Caius felt the spark of leadership within him, but chose not to unleash that fire at the moment.

Marvelling at the will of the slaves they'd brought with them, he began to wonder just how much use he could get out of them. Not in the binds of their slavery, but in the joy of their freedom. He smirked, Haleena probably wouldn't have liked the thought of them remaining slaves anyways. For now, he'd keep his inner rebellion to himself, but he would be ready when the moment struck him.

Feeling the need for Saraenae's blessing tugging at him, he shook it off. He'd need to endure the desert sands and learn to enjoy the kiss of the searing winds. He had a long road ahead of him, and he could benefit from the toughening.

Lots of spoilers, none for me :(

Alright, that'll be a pretty cool party dynamic. "brothers" where one doesn't recognize the other. I'm curious to see what you're playing now lol.

It's possible that during the time that she vanished, your character did as well, and thus my character believes you might have gone with her or something like that. I'm not sure how much time has passed since her vanishing.

Course, if you're intent on keeping your secret it's possible Haleen cared for you in secret or something like that.

Male Human Fighter 1

I've mostly finished my character, need equipment though.

Took the finding Haleen trait, did anyone else?

Refined my backstory just a bit to make it fit a bit more into the campaign setting.

Also started with Combat Expertise/Improved Dirty Trick.

I'll be providing damage output but mostly strategic advantages. Just remember, I rolled gimpy stats lol.

Male Human Fighter 1

I had my entire profile done, but apparently I took too long and it erased it. I'll have it up and finished tonight with my traits and such as well. Then I can help work on character relationships.

Thanks for accepting me into the game.
