There was a discussion that Paizo stated Metallic and Chromatic dragons would breed abominations (the ones that survived).

So for the halfs, i am gussing the genetic material from parents would not eb strong enough to breed second generation abominations? And also factoring in the similarities between the White and Silver, the child should come out a relatively healthy half dragon?

I wonder then betweena red and a silver... hmm.

I found several posts discussing chromatic dragons breeding with metallic dragons and spawning abominations, but what about half dragons? If a half dragon born from a silver and a half dragon born from a white mated, what would be the result?

I understand the ruling that half dragons are typically unable to mate with other non half dragons, but the above scenario was not really covered. Is it safe to assume that for purposes of mating, the two half dragons do not count as silver or white, and fall under a more generic classification?

Would their childs characteristics be randomly decided by one of the parents?

I would love to hear what other people think. If this topic has already been covered somewhere, my apologies, I did not see it :)

I agree with you, it doesn't work well. It adds dex to an already MAD build (str, cha, con). It's also quite feat-heavy for a bard.

It's more feasible if you are working with a 25 point buy and/or think you'll have access to Agile weapons for a large part of the campaign.

Yeah, I was thinking he should focus on one hander and build off that. I believe there is a rule to use a longsword with 2 hands under certain conditions?

Arcane Duelist two weapon fighter...is it functional or even worthwhile?

I am in a discussion with a co-player who mentioned he wanted to be a dual wielding arcane duelist in comparison to another player is is using a great sword. But it just seems like it would not work very well. Thoughts?

Is the player interested in getting mechanical advantages from being related to a dragon? Draconic bloodline sorcerer, then dragon disciple might be an option.

Yeah he definitely wants to be a sorcerer. A Chaotic good Sorc with blue dragon affinity.

I have a player who was interested in playing a character who was the child of a dragon. Naturally I did some research and it seems to be a relatively common thing in forgotten realms. I am assuming it's safe to say that there are no rules regarding dragon type restrictions due to alignment, am I correct?

I mean I did not see anything to say this was the case anywhere so i figured I would ask.

What do you guys think?

Actually, it looks like you can start ANY bardic performance as a Move Action at 7th!

Rallying Cry replaces Countersong
Bladethirst replaces Suggestion
(You won't be getting Mass Bladethirst, so that's a non-issue)

Otherwise, you retain the other forms of Bardic Performance.

(Remember that the Arcane Duelist swaps out a number of other Class Features.)

BTW: You need a perform skill: I would suggest Perform (oratory).

Thanks this is great advice so far! I really appreciate it! So how far in levels should I go? Stop at bard 7 then the rest in DD? I heard AD 16/ DD 4 was the way to go so I was curious...

I would recommend getting bard to level 7 eventually. Third level spells and the ability to start Inspire Courage as a move action.

Trait of Magical Knack will help with the lost caster levels.

Don't I lose Inspire Courage as an arcane duelist?

Hi everyone, I am new to pathfinder and have been loving it so far. We are starting a new campaign and I am super interested in a combo I have been hearing a bit about in the forums.

I am looking to make an arcane duelist / Dragon disciple that uses a great sword. (I know its probably cliche :)

How should I proceed with Feats and level progression? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
