Nice Boons! My Bard, Zhetanadu, once earned the Adopted Weapon Training Boon. He can now use a longbow! It is one of my favorite boons because I could not figure out how to get my bard to use it otherwise.

Thank you, Andrew! I had a blast with this two part adventure!

Thank you, everyone! I had a really fun time playing with all of you!

Andrew, will Cadmuk recover from the poison naturally or will it require spending some money?

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Cadmuk keeps his bow drawn and readies an attack to fire an arrow at the troll should it start to move again.

"Is it dead yet? Nicely done my friends!"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round VII

Cadmuk moves up closer to the troll and using perfect strike fires a single arrow at the fallen fiend with deadly accuracy.

(Inspire Courage, Point Blank Shot and the Troll being prone included in the following rolls).

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 12
Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 23 Perfect Shot!

Damage: 1d8 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) - 2 + 1 = 7

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round VI

Cadmuk fires another flury of shots at the remaining goblin.

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 1 = 19
Damage: 1d8 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) - 2 + 1 = 2

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d8 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) - 2 + 1 = 3

"Patience, Cadmuk!" The Vudrani whispers to himself."One shot at a time!"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round 5

Irori, let my arrows fly true and take down this miserable goblin.

Cadmuk fires a flury of shots and the same goblin he's been attacking.

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d8 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) - 2 + 1 = 5

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 1 = 29

OMG! I totally forgot that Inspire Courage was also damage. Yes, I still need to add that. Now Cadmuk has done a few more points of damage. Thanks!

Did you forget the bonus for inspire courage again, Cad?

I remembered the Inspire Courage this time, but the strength penalty for the bow did not exceed the damage roll. So I hit both shots but did practically no damage.

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round IV

Cadmuk fires off another flury of shots at closest goblin.

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 9 + 1 = 27
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1

Sadly, with no strength, Cadmuk is becoming practically useless. :-(

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

I missed the inspire courage. If possible, kindly add +1 to my two attack rolls. I'm not sure if it would make a difference on that first shot.

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round III

Cadmuk takes a five foot step closer and lets loose another flury of shots at the closest goblin.

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round II

Cadmuk let loose another flury of shots at the goblin in front of Jasmine.

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

Longbow: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5

However, his arms grow tired pulling back on the bow and he cannot hold the shot long enough to aim well.

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Round 1

Cadmuk releases another flury of shots, aiming at pretty looking goblin in front of Jasmine.

(Using point blank shot to get a +1 to hit bonus.)

Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0

Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3

"We met goblins at the beginning and now goblins at the end. They must be new recruits for their shadow lodge.Let's take these vile creatures down!"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Cadmuk readies his bow to fire a flury of shots at the first armed attacker stepping out into the hallway.

Damage: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Cadmuk stands with his bow in his hands, ready to knock an arrow if the bluff attempt fails.

Impressive imitation. The Bard's skills do prove to be useful, even if though he is not speaking the truth. I wonder how he does it so convincingly.

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

"It does surprise me that the shadow lodge would keep such a clean kitchen. I think this is almost nicer than the kitchens back at the lodge in Absalom."

"Let us push on, Thadd."

Cadmuk pours the potion down Jenny's throat.

"That is a strong potion and should bring healing near immediately."

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

"Khakil, what's the matter? Did the cat get your tongue? I'm not use to seeing you quite so quiet!"

Cadmuk waves his hand in front of the bard's face.

"He doesn't seem to be responding. I think Khakil is in a worse position than me. Do you think we have anything to help with paralysis?"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

I might be able to figure out the properties of these potions by tasting them.

For any of the potions that Cadmuk cannot figure out, he asks the bard.

"Khakil, can you try to identify these potions? If one of them is an antidote for the poison that infects me, I may be able to regain my strength!"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

A smile comes across the young monk's face as he feels the oneness with his bow that he is so familiar with.

"Irori, I give you thanks!"

Cadmuk searches the fallen shadow lodge agents and then joins Cott in searching the room.

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

He repeatedly searches.

I must hit this target!

Longbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Relax Cadmuk! As the river flows, I will let this moment be. I am at one.

Mwk Longbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Hopefully a minimum of at least 1 point of damage.

"Let's proceed to the east and get to the heart of this shadow lodge! I may not be able to shoot as well as I once did, but I will try my best. Go ahead, my friends. I am ready."

With the masterwork longbow drawn, Cadmuk gestures for the others to proceed.

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Cadmuk drinks down the healing potions and rests for a moment to let the healing magic do its work. "Thank you, Cott! I feel much better! I don't think I realized how hurt I was. I am still feeling very weak, but I think I can find the strength to go on. I'm embarrassed to ask this, but does somebody have a bow that I could borrow that is not quite as strong as mine? "You are most kind, my friend. Where do you suggest we go to remove this poison? I feel like I can barely function as it is!"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

"I am so sorry! I have ruined this entire mission! I was so certain that we could come in here, surprise the lodge and put an end to their evil ways! Now I can barely lift my bow! I don't know what to do. I am willing to stick it out, but I fear that I may not be of much help."

"Oh dear Irori help me! I can barely pull on this bow."

Cadmuk, in his weakened condition, strains to pull on his composite bow. Still attempting to release a flury of blows, the monk fires at the scorpion giving as much mindful attention that he can muster.

Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Unfortunately, the arrow misses!

Cadmuk takes the silk rope. "This is a very nice rope, Luc. I promise to take good care of it." He proceeds to tie knots into it at easy intervals for climbing. He then ties it around his waist and begins his ascent of the wall in the northwest quadrant of the prison.

Cadmuk comments quietly to Cott. "I would be willing to try and climb over the wall. If you give me a rope, I can tie it around my waist and climb up. Once I secure it, I will signal for the rest of you to climb up. If we tie knots into the rope it should not be too difficult."
