So if I’m reading this right, I can choose delivery instead of pickup I MAY get my books before Gen Con, I many get them during (same as after, for all intents and purposes) and the PDFs can be downloaded as soon as the 1st hits. Good?

Thank you!
That was my first screwup! I'd assumed the order would process here, I'd get my PDFs, and I'd get the physical books as Gen Con but it now looks like the PDFs don't release to me until after that pickup.

OK, so now to make things difficult...;) From what I'm reading, folks that didn't do pickup at Gen Con already have the PDF. Is there a way to unlock that sooner than when I do the actual pickup? And if that's a no... can I switch back to having it shipped so I can get the PDFs now? I don't actually mind not getting the physical book until after Gen Con if I can get the PDF sooner. I'm not going to be able to hit the Paizo booth until Friday, and I'm playing some Starfinder on Thursday so I'd really love to be able to read this on the ride down... Thank you!

Ok; so I found my Sidecart, and everything is in there, states for pickup at Gen Con so I think I'm OK. From looking at that though, I clicked on the "Ship as soon as possible" button, and things moved to my regular cart and it looks like I can buy them now. SO; the question now is, can I pay in full today to release my PDFs and then pickup the physical items at Gen Con? Or do I have to wait and I messed things up? Thanks!

I opted for pickup at Gen Con this year, but now there is nothing showing either on the subscription page OR in the cart? Someone above mentioned a 'side cart', but I can't seem to find that... unless that's the same thing as the normal cart? What am I missing? Didn't get an authorization email either.

Sara Marie wrote: We reserve enough subscription copies for all subscribers who have opted in for subscription pick up in our stock area behind the registers (we did not always do this and learned the hard way). If something isn't out on the floor and you've opt-in, you can get it directly from us when you reach the cash register. We periodically check throughout the show to make sure that we have enough copies kept aside for subscribers who opted in. Usually we designate a time on Sunday where we will put out all remaining subscription stock. Last year we did it first thing on Sunday morning, but I received some feedback that that was too early so I've moved it to 12pm on Sunday for 2015. That is awesome; thank you! That way I can hit the booth later in the con; do some additional shopping, and still get my subscription. I'm going to update my options now.

Theryon Stormrune wrote: If you were talking most of Thursday and early Friday, then the lines were bad. After that, you could easily walk up and grab your stuff. It was only long lines first thing in the morning and most of Thursday. Fair point; but when I got there Saturday (late, was a lot of gaming) they were out of several items for my subscription including the Advanced Class Guide which I really wanted. Was very disappointed.

Came here to say that as well; last year it was impossible to get into the booth with the lines. I couldn't pick up my subscription; and it didn't ship until several weeks later.... much later than those that either had normal delivery. I know it's been a topic a few times; until I've head that something is being done to address it I'm not going to do Gen Con pickup... I'd love to save the shipping, but that isn't worth two hours in line at the Paizo Booth.

OK; nothing has changed, nothing has been updated, I've have no emails about the status of my order and the September subscription authorizes tomorrow. At this point it's been almost five weeks since I paid for my subscription in full and I don't even have a shipping confirmation; it still states that the items were picked up August 5th. It would have been much faster at this point to have cancelled that order; reversed the charges, and ordered everything new. I'm the only subscriber in my gaming group; but I'm the only one without an Advanced Class Guide in my hands. Is there any escalation for this?

Hi: I'd planned to pickup this order at Gen Con and it was charged to my account on 8/5. I wasn't able to get to the booth until Sunday, and most of what I needed was gone... So I didn't pick anything up. How long will it take to get the order shipped to me, and is there anything I need to do? The order status says complete, and hasn't been updated, so I'm a little concerned. Thanks!

Even wimpy NAVY Seals (tongue in cheek) get to cut to the head of the chow line when waiting to go on missions. Pathfinders queued to go on EIGHT missions deserve no less... Wow... yeah; if you are running 8 slots of Pathfinder and have a monthly subscription? Someone should deliver that to your table. There has to be a way to figure out how.... sign for it, whatever.

I wanted to pickup my subscription but wasn't able to devote the time needed for waiting in line with everyone else dropping by for the card game... I'm not sure how big of the crowd in line represents subscribers; but from a loyal customer's point of view (I've been subscribing since day one save a six month lapse) it would be amazing if there was an 'express' lane for subscribers, or something that made is simpler (in my case, possible) for pickup my books. If I had known how bad the lines could have possibly been, I may have just had the subscription shipped. Now I will need to wait another 2-3 weeks for the books. I'd ask you please consider a subscriber pickup line; if the hall makes that too difficulty perhaps a stockpile and pickup in Sagamore near HQ? In the mean time; I will go back to watching my mailbox. Thanks!

I was looking for feedback on the build being legit; but will take advice on how to properly challenge it... I don't want to shut anyone down, and don't want to deny him from doing The Awesome... He should have to work for it though; and without putting things in the combat only he can touch.. or would one-round other players. It wasn't a point buy; it was an ill-advised 4d6 drop low and build as you see fit. He rolled pretty well... although I think he rolled UNTIL he rolled pretty well....:)

I DM for a regular Friday night group; we've been gaming together almost 11 years now. We're comfortable with each other, we understand each other styles, and know what each other brings to the table. I'm a story teller; not a tactical gamer, and my combats sometimes suffers for this. We have a mix of power gamers (it's just a term; lets say optimizer?) and folks that just show up for the draft beer, and ask what dice they roll each time. Good buncha folks. We switched to Pathfinder around two years ago; the current campaign is set in Ptolus using Pathfinder, everyone is currently 11th level. When the casual gamers started to complain that the optimizers were outshining them; the ones with the optimized characters offered to nerf themselves. I said no; and asked them to help the others with optimization. Re-organize a few feats, optimize the builds, etc. Make the others cooler, I said. Last Friday when a ranger crit an opponent for over 100 damage on a single arrow, I started thinking I might have allowed it to be overdone. Can I get some input on a build here? At 11th level this Orc can rage for 27 rounds a day (so he's just always in a rage), crit threats on a 15-20, and has four attacks per round (speed weapon). Thats a potential max of 136 around NOT critting. Anything he can't single round can't be hit by almost anyone else, so it's a little harder to balance challenges. Big thing here is; is the build legit, is anything combined incorrectly, or something I am missing? I've dumped the stat block out of Hero Lab; let me know if anything relevant is missing. Male Half-Orc Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 11
Traits Brute (APG), Killer
SQ Fast Movement +10, Increase Damage Reduction, Increase Damage Reduction, Orc Ferocity (1/day), Quick Reflexes, Rage (27 rounds/day), Reckless Abandon (+/-3), Renewed Vigor 2d8+7 HP (1/day)

Hmm; not sure we could get through all three of the First Steps, but I suppose we could run through them at home. We have two DMs (Myself and anothe) who switch back and fourth between active campaigns; the next hiatus may be the right time! We are in Buffalo, NY... there is a pretty active gamer base here, but no Pathfinder Society I've come across. Rochester, I think, has a small group operating out of a gaming shop there, but thats 90 minutes away.

My regular Friday group has been using Pathfinder for almosty two years now; but we live in an area with zero PFS activity, so we have little exposure. Playing in the Society once a year at Gencon didn't seem to be a great way to participate in the story, so while I always stop by the HQ at Gencon, none of us has played so far. Looking over the schedule for this year, the Special "Race for the Runecarved Key" looks like fun... but how would it be for a group of Level 1s? I can see the range goes up to 12+, so I'm no sure how friendly it would be for an introduction to the Society, or for a group of Level ones fresh off the bus. Any thoughts?

Digging around, looking for a spell with the opposite effect of Shrink Item: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/spells/shrinkItem.html#_shrink-item I'm convinced I've seen it somewhere, but all I can find is Enlarge Person... all I want to do is make a non-magical item larger. Not a person, and not shrink. Anyone ideas? Thanks!

Quick question for shipping: I currently have my Pathfinder subscription sent to my office each month. Makes for a good work day when one arrives... This; given the size, would be more of a challenge to get through the mail room. Any chance of setting a different delivery address (Home, in this case) for the Minis, but still keep the books coming home?

Just found a poster tube in my side door... two all the way around creases on the tube. I actually had to ripe down to the first one to free the poster... there are two lines of rippled and torn paper going the length of the poster. Any chance of a replacement? I'll gladly return the damaged one in the tube a new one came in....

Ok, getting ready to run Master of the Fallen Fortress tomorrow night for some friends; this is our first foray into Pathfinder, and we are looking forward to it. This module comes with six full-page 1st level pregens of the new Iconics from the Advanced Players Guide.... groovy, printed them out and they are ready to go. Was there a previous module/book with the earlier Iconics at level 1? I've got the ones that are are 2-3 a page from the Adventure Paths with the basic minimum; I was looking for full-page spreads like from the APG.... anyone? Thanks!

Per subject; please cancel my subscription to Pathfinder. For the record; everything about Pathfinder continues to be top-notch, and I will return again. Just doing some trimming to the old budget, as so many people are doing. Thanks. Dave Campbell |
