Name : Tahnie Drakeline
Class : Sorcerer Lv. 2
Race : Gnome
Killed in : Souls for Smuggler's Shiv
How : When trying to find out what was causing the purple fungus for the dryad, she was killed (along with the remaining NPCs) by a group of vegipygmys when they were about to cross a rope bridge over to a boat.

Also...
Namzig Valsera (Halfling Rogue Lv2), Weeler (Half-orc Barbarian Lv.2), Luli (Halfling Ranger Lv.2), Boris (Human Cleric Lv2), & Kalina (Human Sorcerer Lv2) were all done in by imprisonment by the island's cannibals and bad DM'ing :p Thats about the time where the players decided that it was time to stop playing with that DM....

Hello all!

I'm currently working on my own hombrew world for my players and recently ran a game that feels like its starting to die out...
So what I'm wanting to do for the next game in my world is write up n adventure path like the ones published by Paizo.
My only question is where should I start? It feels a little overwhelming but I feel that taking the AP stance on homebrew could produce a much more fluid, polished game.

What do you guys think? Any advice?

Thanks!

Thanks Cheapy! Much help.

Hello all!

I'm building a character for a friends campaign who is a Beastmorph/Vivisectionist Alchemist and I thought that the Master Chymist prestige class looked cool, but I found a slight problem....

The Master Chymist class gives you bonus damage to bomb damage....
As a Vivisectionist I don't have bombs, I get sneak attack.....

I know the first answer will probably be along the lines of "It's up to the DM", but do you guys think that there may be a way to add a bonus to sneak attack in some way since bombs aren't in my repertoire?

Here's a link to the Vivisectionist & Master Chymist if you aren't familiar with them.

Thanks!

Oops! Should be fixed now.

Bump. Anyone have any pointers for my friend? What do you guys think?

Here ya go.
My buddy updated it a little bit - Here

Hello all!

A friend of mine has been working on a custom class and wanted to get some feedback on it -here-

Let us know what ya think!

Sorry! I guess "Putting them in their place" would come across negatively huh...
Definitely not the intent ;)

My issue is I've constantly thrown CR+3-5 villain after villain and my players keep thwarting them with no issue. Trust me, the whole point of my campaign is so my players are genuinely having a good time with as little "DM vs. Players" aspect as I can.

Red dragon - I could probably toss that somewhere in the plot
Dropping rocks on them - Aha! Bombs don't work well on rocks!
Diplomatic Mission - My group tends to get into loops and easily get bored if theres not some sort of action going on.
Villain who knows about the PCs - Very likely & good idea....they just returned from delving into an underground ruin forgotten beneath a major city that ended up completely destroying a good part of said city. People will know about them now :p
Devils - will actually play a major part in the current quest line

like I said, my intention is not to make this a VS situation but to make the boss battles actually challenging. I think my main problem is that recently the group has only been doing one fight a day at full potency with full bombs & spells. Lots of good ideas that have helped get the gears turning.

So I have two PCs (an alchemist and an oracle) that are the touch attackers of the group that constantly screw up the BBEGs I throw at them. The alch. has his bombs that catch the bad guy on fire and the oracle has spells like doom & burning disarm that constantly thwart my attempts at besting them. What could I do to get back at these pesky PCs? Any advice?

Kiinyan - The mayor would be the aristocrat in this situation ;)

mplindustries - See, I like the idea of her coming back with some BAMF monster she's broken to try and snuff out the players before they become to big of an issue..

BillyGoat - I could see her going the "respectable businessman" route. Since she is the youngest of three, she would try to overcompensate for the idea of inexperience her elder siblings would have. I've also played around with the idea of her being exceptionally deceptive. one moment acting like Ty-lee from Avatar (bubbly, giggly, etc) then being a cold heartless b@*@$ the next.

You guys aren't making the decision any easier ;P

To give a little more background:
The slaver is a young female drow that is part of a set of triplets all working for the unknown BBEG. She, along with a rogue galavanting around as a priest thanks to high use magic device checks and some magic items, control a large port town through a puppet mayor. I was going to try and set up some sort of mystery for the players that eventually leads to the mayor being "taken care of" by either the slaver or false priest and ends with a climactic battle with slaver herself, possibly taking on one of the PCs as a fine piece to sell.

I liked the serpentine bloodline for the hold/dominate monster seeing that , being an infamous slaver and all, she could get pretty much any target you wanted (for the right prissssse ;3). I liked the rakshasa bloodline for all the abilities tied to deception.....

everyone brings up so many good points :(

Hello all!
In my current homebrew game the players are headed to a city that is secretly being run by a powerful thieves guild that is in cahoots with a powerful slave trader.
I have finally decided on going the caster route with my slaver and plan on making her a sorcerer....my only problem is I can't decide which bloodline would be better for a slave trader!

I've kind of settled on two :
Rakshasa or Serpentine
Which one do you guys think would make a more sinister slaver?

Thanks
~Gary

Yes! Thank you for all the awesome ideas! Keep em coming , cause I can feel those creative gears whirring!

Thank you both ^_^ I'm quite proud of it myself. I've created a few maps using software (CC3 & PS) or by taking a pre-existing map and mishmashing it into my own creation , but this is my first completely hand drawn map.

Dark_Mistress : For being such a simple thing, I can't believe I forgot the distance marker :p Will make modifications soon...Also the Hellboy universe is a favorite of mine, so I will definitely look there to find some inspiration ;)

Hello all!

I am currently building a world to fit within the PFRPG system & I am trying to create my own pantheon of deities, history, and cosmology (cosmology being only a thought for the time being). So far I have mapped just a small portion of the world (seen below) which I think is enough to get started, but I know that at least half of my PCs are curious individuals who like to RP more than fight and will want information pretty quick.

Do you guys have any tips or advice to how to flush out my own living, breathing world?

Here is some info about the world (at least what I have so far!)
- Seudo-Steampunk setting : not ALL steam & zeppelins but just a dash for flavor.
- Segregated Magic Use : there are places that are filled with it, there are some places that have never seen it (and of course places somewhere in between).
- Ancient Civilizations : two races that destroyed each other in an ancient war, leaving behing only ruins & artifacts.......but maybe they are still alive...waiting dormant below the surface to rise once again to seize what is truly theirs....

.....thats about all I have for the moment. Any ideas or input would be great ;)
Thanks!

oh yeah...heres the map I've created so far. The campaign starts in Port Esperul on the north east tip of the continent. It is a major trade city with ties into the Valkan sea and the Finros river.

*EDIT* The linked map now shows a marker (of sorts) to gauge how big Nambius is.
