Balthasar looks down at the wounded man before him, a scowl on his face. "You have strayed from the Emperor's Light. Now, you are condemned by it." His stub pistol bursts forth with three more rounds, shattering what remained of defiant corrupted miner.

Semi Auto (41+10): 1d100 ⇒ 29
dmg: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 = 15
dmg: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Righteous Fury? (51): 1d100 ⇒ 38 yes
dmg, head: 1d10 ⇒ 2

Balthasar pulls out his stub pistol as he dodges out of the reach of the miner and lets off a blast of rounds into the man's fleshy bits.

Semi Auto (41+10): 1d100 ⇒ 17 success, +3 DoS
dmg: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
dmg: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Two of the bullets rip into the miner's right leg and lower abdomen, sending blood splattering across the nearby wall. Yowling in pain, he falls back, barely standing after the onslaught.

Wounds to 0, 3 crit dmg, 2 lvls fatigue, stunned 1 round

Brother Balthasar moves alongside Naltos. Across his microbead, "Caius, the Emperor protects the righteous... but given our the partial disarmament before entering a rather densely packed bar of what are likely cultists, what is your plan?"

Balthasar looks around the truck at the others as it drives up the tunnel. "Lady Alekseevna, I worry your idea presumes they don't know we are coming. The past attempt on our life, our brief communique after, then the emptied mine entrance all suggest the opposite. They may not know our true nature, or where exactly we are in the complex, but they likely know we are going to, if nothing else, try to get off this rock - something they have already proven they aim to stop. At best, we have one chance at the element of surprise, I doubt we are going to be able to skulk through multiple layers of this facility."

As the truck continues up the tunnel, Brother Balthasar checks first his autogun slung across his chest, then the pistol on his hip. Finally, he loosens the knot holding his warhammer in it's baldric. "The lady possesses an interesting question. I want to put every last heretic to the flame, but if this entire facility has fallen from the Emperor's light, that could be quite the task for us few. How do we want do we want to do this?"

Brother Balthasar ponders for a moment. In a somewhat surprising tactical analysis, he offers, "The man on the radio before referred to us as 'whomever you are'. It would seem they aimed to kill us regardless of our background, simply for possibly discovering what is going on up here. The do not know we serve the Holy Ordos. I doubt they know our capabilities, we may still have an element of surprise."

I have created an avatar for your confessor to make things cleaner

Brother Balthasar has been quiet for most of the action thus far, but with Havelock's reference to him, he speaks fervently. "If the heretics have gained control of this facility, it is unlikely that any still devoted to the Emperor's Light remain alive. For if any did, it would be their righteous duty to rise up and fight against these blasphemous usurpers. We must assume that not only the mining crews, but also the company's enforcers assigned to maintain order, and the PDF detachment, if any remain alive, have fallen to the dark temptation of Chaos. Those who remain are to be counted among the damned, and judgement be delivered accordingly."

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Properly scaled world:

Doors are not 10 times the size of the char. No hallways that a plane could fly through. Towns actually have small alley ways. Enter an area for the vertically challenged inhabitants and the char needs to crouch or crawl. Caves with hard to pass areas.

Make cities and buildings and natural wonders to proper scale for its inhabitants. Have it effect combat. Maybe a taller character can not pass with out a spell or potion. Sure there are some oversized buildings, but like in the real world they are only oversized for very specific reasons, like monuments, large gathering locations or to impose a sense of power and dominance.

Create real looking towns:

Create real multi level towns. Buildings have balconies and roofs that can be climbed up to and on. Small alley ways. Normal sized streets. Climbing can be a skill then. Jumping from balcony to balcony. Shops open and close. Make the town have a realistic population level. Maybe housing is instanced but maybe there are 20 different choices around the town that I can choose from.
