Thus, there's no reason for them to continue in the games. Further, there's no logical reason Raknian would hang around fulfilling his hosting duties for the remainder of the games.

So, if we skip the remainder of the adventure the party would miss out on the three remaining arena combats and the resulting purses. They'll hear about Ilthane's attack on Diamond Lake, which should be enough to get them back home and continue the adventure path. Thoughts?

Dude! Harsh! There is the biggest reason for them to complete the games--they get to take on some singular challenges and win some dough! And, from a meta perspective, an even bigger reason--those fights are fun! My group took the pitchblade triplets (enlarged becuase they number 6 rather than 4) quite personally and wound up fighting the pitchblade twins, slipped in by some of the local security, in themiddle of the night. They had a blast with it! Let them finish it off, by all means!

Hi Vic and Paizo team,

I was just thinking that it would be really great if there was some kind of "AP Subscription Option".

I'd like to second that. I was lucky last year to time my subscription just right, but you guys having something like that available would dramatically simplify things for me. Think you could swing it?

Ok, I'd just like to check something here--you guys DO all realize that the slow worm functions like a disease, only draining 1d4 of con per day, right? That gives the characters a LOT of time to puzzle something out, and even if they don't know the exact cause, when someone's losing 1d4 Con per day, the first response any sensible player's going to have is to try to get that nasty disease cured or the curse removed, both of which can benefit the unfortunate victim.

Thus, why bother with vomiting rules or anything like that? Simply talk about how skinny the poor guy is getting from day to day, how pale, the nasty texture the skin is getting, etc., and let the folks problem solve.

Spoiler Alert, turn back before its too late...

last chance...

Do the slow worm potions seem particularly wrong to you as well? My players find potions, and detect magic on them and then either use them or get them identified. A hiding worm would have a 0% chance of being detected by them, making for a dead character in a short amount of time. Also with out knowing where its coming from, they would have no chance of fighting it. The adventure doesn't mention anything unusual about the potions, does that seem fair? Is there a clue later on that lets them realize whats in them before its too late?

For the record, I had my FNLGS order the Shackled City Hardcover, and I will happily do the same with the Age of Worms Hardcover, when it comes out, if it even approaches a reasonable price. I was impressed with the SC book, actually--nice additions, and I noticed that you paid attention to a lot of constructive comments from the boards.

Overall, I'm liking what you guys are all doing with Dungeon.

In fact, I find the concept of a cleric who focuses only on healing to be boring and cliche. It's like playing a wizard who only ever casts magic missile; there's SO much more you can do with the class! I chose to play a cleric of Wee Jas precisely...

Thanks, James, for replying. You're right that the domination domain's pretty potent, though I'm not all that thrilled with the mind one. It sounds like one of the chief appeals is how different the character plays. Is everyone there at Paizo equally jaded? :-)

I'm curious how the character has been working out in the play testing of the AP path. What's been better than normal? What's been subpar?

Could you help me understand what the appeal is of Wee Jas? The domains don't seem all that potent, and Wee Jas clerics make lousy healers, even with the feat out of Complete Divine. Compared to some of the other domains out there, she really seems to pale as a deity choice. Yet, I see folks online choosing Wee Jas all the time as a deity for their cleric (witness the playtest group). What is it I'm missing?
