Karcau's a great location for a sandbox exploration campaign I'm putting together (so many options--players can strike out towards Numeria, Sarkosis, or deeper into Ustalav), but I ran into a few questions when trying to flesh out the area:
Is there any info out on Dravod Knock or Castle Kronquist?
Is the river west of Karcau the Moutray or the Archer? Campaign Setting's chapters on the Worldwound and Ustalav conflict and the Map Folio sidesteps it. I'm guessing it's the Archer River east of Ardagh.
About the West Sellen--the river must get a southern wind some part of the year, so that ships with sails can travel north against the current up towards Mendev. Is the wind constant or seasonal? Wind blows from cold climate towards hot, so it'd make sense in winter (since the Lake of Mists and Veils would retain heat relative the land). Or maybe it's just always hot at the Worldwound. It'd be kind of cool if the River Road shut down in summer, since that would isolate Karcau (and Mendev) for a portion of the year.
Caliphas is said to be rich from trade, but what does Ustalav actually export?
