I'm sorry to be a party pooper, but goliath has level adjustment. You can't really play one untill level 2, and even then you'd be a first-level character.
Unless da GM makes up some houserule about that.

There's a reason thrown weapons are cool at low levels.
What tricks do I need to give my animal companion in order for it to be 'trained for war'? It's important, as riding dogs trained for war gets to trip like a wolf on their bite attacks.
