AC 15, touch 14, flat-footed 13 Bran makes sure all his gear is in good repair, says goodbye to the friends he's made and stocks up on rations for the journey to Wallingford. He wears the clothes of a common soldier or mercenary, disguising his armor and weapons as best he can. During their journey, he sings in his poor voice and stops to appreciate any animals or objects of natural beauty they come across. Bran seems to be in a good mood, as their plans are finally set into motion. On the third day they arrive in Wallingford and Bran goes with the others to the farm of their contact from their reconnaissance trip, where they plan to hide during the operation. He greets the loyal farmer with a smile and handshake. "We've returned, and this time we're here to free you. It's imperative that as few people as possible know we're in town, so we'd appreciate your discretion."

AC 15, touch 14, flat-footed 13 There are times when I enjoy this game, but if I'm being totally honest I'm not that invested in Bran. This (including the game I just shut down, and one other I ran in the past) is the third game I've been in that takes Pathfinder rules to run an essentially real-life Earth as the setting. Each time I've been really excited going in, and thinking it was going to be super awesome. Buuutt, it always kind of ends up the same, feeling less rich than normal fantasy PF (for me anyway). There are only so many ways you can build a character without magic or technology and so the fights become relatively repetitive and there's not that much difference between the PCs' abilities. The roleplay aspect has been fun at times, but I don't have as much time to invest in deep/heavy RP across all my games as I used to. So the characters I'm less invested in tend to become relatively shallow/2D. It doesn't help that Bran sucks at social skills, so even when I try some kind of RP thing (finding a wife, gathering info, etc) I usually fail. I won't have as much free time going forward, but I will continue to participate here if everyone else wants to. Jubal, are you having fun? That's also important in my book.

His clothing is embroidered with his new heraldry, a hound and stallion both in the rampant position facing one another on a field of green. He smiles upon seeing Edward and Raedwald, approaching the men at the hearth. "Greetings, brothers! It has been too long. How fare you and your lands?" Blaidd is also happy to see the two men, jumping up on their legs and licking their hands. Bran chuckles a bit before commanding him down. "Looks like I'm not the only one who missed you."

AC 15, touch 14, flat-footed 13 My main issue with it, is it doubling the length of any combat and reducing the heroicness of the PCs. In the movies and stuff, the PCs always tear through tons of guys and then have a more difficult fight against the boss type guys, I enjoy that kind of play in my RPGs as well I guess. I'm fine with these rules as Jubal suggested them, as long as the same thing goes for NPCs.
