I am stumped. I need a new, level one character for society play on Saturday and can't make up my mind on which class to play, which race, any character features, or backgrounds. So I come to you all, asking for help! Is there anyone who would be willing to make me a character from level one to...well, whatever you feel like (level 2, 5, 12, etc). There are going to be 6 PCs and a GM at the table. I know there is already an unchained monk, a gunslinger, and a kineticist. I don't know how many people will respond to this, but if you make a character and put a personality with it, I will do my best to portray that during play. Thanks everyone. -BWW
I have an idea for a mini, one-shot adventure and wanted to know what people thought about it before I put too much thought into it. (It's 2:40 am and I can't tell if my mind is clouded! ha ha) I haven't figured out a hook to get to this place yet, but the PCs will arrive at a small cave entrance. They will enter the narrow passage, and it will look like a regular cave. Dark, moist, and eerie. At the end of this passage is a door of some kind. When opened, it reveals what looks like a gigantic, fun, and colorful workshop. There will be a few different platforms with guys bouncing on them. Each of them will appear human and very seem very happy. They introduce themselves by name and say "I'm a Fungi!" When asked about the shop they will say, "It's our master's shop!" They will let you look around on your own, but if the PCs request to see the "Master", a single Fungi will take them. Along the walk deeper into the cave, you run into many strange monsters and sites. For example, there will be a pothole trap (it's like a pit trap but with lots of pots at the bottom), giant fireflies (flies that are literally on fire), the cave blockhead (a humanoid with a cubed head and no facial features), 3 copycats (3 cats that all copy each other or the PCs movements), and furniture like armchairs (chairs made of arms with pincushion seats). There will be an encounter or two while the PCs walk. When you reach the door of the Master, the Fungi will knock and let he/she know there are visitors. The Master will ask to have just the Fungi enter. With a perception check you hear a quick yelp. The master will come out, but not the fungi. The master seems nice. But at some point will turn on the PCs and send his strange creatures to attack them. During the fight, one of the creatures will somehow let the PCs know it was once a regular person but was changed by the Master. Only a certain (insert magical item here) can turn everyone back. Not all the monsters are actually people. Fights over, bad guy taken down or put into custody, day saved, people happy. My first thought was to have the PCs sent there to retrieve something (maybe the magical item? maybe a certain person?). I want the workshop to have a strange Charlie and the Chocolate Factory feel. It's a unique magical place, but also can be dangerous. This is a really rough idea. Please let me know what you guys think, and if you have any advice I would love to hear it! Thanks :)
So in the campaign I am GMing, my PCs are quite friendly with the local grigs. In the last session, the grigs told the PCs that there was someone going around trying to capture a grig and that they were afraid to go out of their homes. My initial thought with this was to play with the grigs a bit more. The grig hunter could set up traps like a bottle of wine next to sugary treats on the ground with a box over it and a stick holding it up. (The grigs in my game aren't very bright...) He could be this stereotypical geeky bug collector wanting to add a live grig to his bug collection (since they are, like...half bug..people..things..) I want to make it a story/quest like mission. But I would like some ideas of where to go with this and give it more flavor. Any help would be appreciated. Writing this out, I am noticing the idea is kind of lame, but could prove hilarious results. Thanks!
So on Sunday I GMed our first session of Kingmaker. It was a good time! My players defeated the bandits at Oleg's then headed to the Thorn River Camp. On the way they encountered two wolves eating at a dead horse. Now, I thought they would just fight the wolves and move on, but they wanted to know whose horse it was and how it got there. They searched for tracks so I said there were humanoid tracks leading to the west, but that would be away from the bandit camp's direction. They totally went for the tracks (mostly hoping to find some loots) and ended up coming across a small gnome woman who was hurt. She had been bitten by the wolves and made a makeshift bandage/cast out of her shirt. She was a little out of it due to blood loss, and when the PCs nervously got closer, she asked them for healing. Half the party wanted to assist her, and the other half was super suspicious of her. Her name was Bali Corva and she said she was just traveling from the River Kingdoms. A sense motive declared this to be true. After whispering amongst themselves for a while, they decided to help her. They manacled her and had her share a horse with one of the PCs. Since they wanted to still go to the camp, they had Bali stay with the horses a little distance away. After the fight, they went back to their horses, and two of them were missing, along with Bali. Needless to say, the PCs that were suspicious of her were FURIOUS at the rest of the party. (It was a very funny moment for the group)
Maybe she has some levels in rogue to have gotten out of the manacles? Maybe a chase scene?
Hi all,
I want to make sure I am as prepared as I can be. I have 5 players and am playing with a 6 Player Conversion (because my players love to make their characters really powerful). How did others work with the random encounters? Did you draw a new map for every new encounter or use the same map? Is there a good chart for random weather on the forums? I was thinking of giving my players a calender to keep track of weather, events, holidays, and quests. Is that a good idea? I would love some ideas for random bandit and hunter NPCs. I don't want all my bandits to have the same attacks, armors, and such. I would like to add variety. Maybe even have a few bandits that have some magic abilities to throw the PCs off their game. Are there other things I need to start GMing this part? If anyone has more advice to give, I will definitely take it! I feel very foggy minded at the moment. I know I have more questions but can't think of them right now, but I am sure I will ask later. Thanks! |
