I was checking on some heritage FEATS, and found that one I was planning to take has limited availability (Dwarf Defy the Darkness). I did not find a way to purchase it in the boons section, so is there a way to get it that I am missing?

I very much want Elemental Slayer for my Catfolk Paladin of Ranginori.

I always want "Extra Traits", "New Day, New Choices", "Character Rebuild" and anything that lets me replace my Dayjob.

I have:
SFS #10 - Relics of Lost Golarion
SFS #9 - Xenowarden's Affiliation

PFS 2016 Gencon #16 - Leyline Access 2
PFS 2016 Gencon #6 - Brutal Reputation
PFS 2017 Regional #1 - Debt to Society
PFS 2016 S-C-A-R-A-B #9 - Emotional Aura
PFS 2017 Gencon #2 - Mounted Tradition
PFS 2017 Gencon #10 - Skillful Merchant
PFS 2017 Gencon #12 - Metamagical Access (3 scrolls with metamagic)
PFS 2017 Gencon #15 - Trophy Hunter

It'd take more than just Elemental Slayer, but I also have:
Vanara
Ratfolk
Gripili

And I would only trade these for race boons that also have character rebuilds on them, or auction-only boons:
Naiad + Rebuild
Aasimir
PFS 2017 Gencon #18 - New Days, New Choices

The legacy race boon I just received at Strategicon was for all the legacy races. Not just gnomes. Dwarves in spaaaaaace!!!!

Awesome. Will have to see if I can find anything even remotely worth trading for one, as I don't GM and don't make it to many conventions.

Legacy SFS races have gone live -- they are one of the boons offered for GMing an SFS adventure for Play-by-Post Gameday VI!*

Hmm

* Or other conventions this fall... But Play-by-Post Gameday VI is one that just about anyone, anywhere can get to...

Is it just gnomes that are offered, or is it any of the legacy races? Would love to get my hands on a Dwarf.

These are great. Thank you!

Grand Lodge

That was my thinking as well, but wanted to get the opinions of people who had more stars than I do. Thanks for the reply.

Grand Lodge

Do the Exocortex and the Custom Rigs of the Mechanic class features take up the usual one slot limit listed in Augmentations? I suspect the Custom Rig does, unless it is hand held, but I am somewhat uncertain about an Exocortex.

Grand Lodge

Please forgive the possible silly question, but has there ever been a case where the powers that be have reversed their decision to change classes/items/etc due to posts on the forums? I personally do not like the changes to the Lord Warden(I have 2), nor do I understand the need to change it, no matter how it is explained or what math is tossed in.
Just curious and tossing in my opinion.

That depends. To the best of my knowledge, you still get all of your Favored Enemy bonuses, even if you can't identify them. That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but that is how it works. I personally choose to try to have moderate to high knowledges regarding my Favored Enemy/Enemies, just because it makes sense.

Grand Lodge

After seeing it become useful in a few situations, I'll add Cartographer and Engineer to the list.

i am wondering if i should choose either never stop shooting or a +2 to Initiative. i already have 9 to my Initiative.

Reactionary is nice for the +2 Initiative, and Never Stop Shooting is good too. I found that grabbing a trait that gives you Disable Device as a Class Skill has been very helpful, since you have the big DEX bonus to use. I have been in too many parties that don't have any trap disarming ability, and even if you can't disable magical traps, it has proven very useful on many occasions.

[Finally can add my first to the list.

That is what I've been doing wrong. I've been writing it crayon all this time!

I recently played a couple of games of PFS on roll20 with various players and GM and was wondering what everybody else's experiences are like.

Here is what I'd be interested in:

What are your expectations for PFS in general and for online PFS in particular?

What time zone are you in (assuming you play at according hours)?

How would you generally "rate" your GMs (no names, of course)?

How would you generally "rate" your fellow players (again, of course no names)?

How engaged are you usually?

How happy are you generally with online PFS (if possible, compared to offline PFS or home games)?

What do you think should be improved?

Looking forward to your experiences!

For the people who can't travel to very many conventions or long distance, due to health, income, or location, online games are a godsend. I can say that some of the most fun games I have had have been at the AetherCon tables (thanks to all those who make that possible). I have not found online games to be any different than table top games. There are good players and gms, and there are bad players and gms. I have seen no difference in how some gms fill out Chronicles in person or online...some will fill in details, some will not. The occasional character audit is not a bad idea, but when you have a few dozen chronicle sheets and attached inventory on paper, this is nearly impossible for online games. Also note that many of us are not out to cheat, and keep detailed records for every character. At conventions, even with online conventions, where you only have 4 hour slots, there is just not enough time for the gms to fill everything out...they have to grab all their things and sprint to the next table to even have a chance to start and end on time, not to mention food and bathroom runs. All in all I have had good experiences online, and I hope people continue to run online games well into the future. My thanks to all of you.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th-level pregenerated characters.

Years of political maneuvering, espionage, smuggling, and diplomacy have set the stage for the Aspis Consortium’s most ambitious attack on their Inner Sea rivals: the Pathfinder Society. All that remains are several key preparations that only an elite team of Aspis agents can arrange, and once the fireworks begin, these same agents must strike quickly and mercilessly to secure objectives—some shared and some connected to deeper plots—and escape without the Society being any the wiser.

In this adventure the players portray agents of the Aspis Consortium using 7th-level pregenerated characters. The events in this story also connect to and expand upon those in "Siege of Serpents".

The is a special scenario and can be applied to any level 6-8 PFS character.

Will be using the following Warhorn link for game registration.

Also, somewhere it is stated, I believe that there is an assumption that you have enough bags / boxes / whatever to haul away all the loot in the scenario, and IIRC the weight of the loot does not need to be tracked unless it explicitly says so.

I have yet to encounter a GM that ever checked encumbrance, even when it is so obvious that a person is carrying much more than they ever could, yet somehow moving full normal speed while fully loaded and wearing Medium or Heavy armor. I do, however, keep careful track of it, just in case I run into a GM that actually checks.

Grand Lodge

While I do level up and advance my own characters, I think part of the reason people would like to have a GM nearby is so they are certain they get everything right...especially when it comes to purchasing new items with prestige or gold. The way it is explained in organized play is not completely clear, and the numerous posts I see every week asking about prestige purchases, gold costs, special material and magic combinations, etc., seems to show that I am not the only one that sometimes gets confused. Some GMs will be helpful when you make mistakes, but I have heard many stories of those who are not so kind or helpful. I'm sure there will be many posts after this saying that is simple and easy to understand, but for some it is not. I will now get off of my soap box. We will now return to your regularly scheduled postings :)

Grand Lodge

Where does it say you can't play it with a goat? If the character is legal, I see no reason to exclude farm animals.

Grand Lodge

I know I was. You were so convincing...I was ready to tell u everything...whether I knew it or not!

Grand Lodge

I could probably make that new time, but looks overflowing at the moment. Will try to catch the next one. Regardless, thanks for running the games!

Grand Lodge

The opportunity to explore and map such a region would be an interesting challenge. I look forward to hearing more about this endeavor and the establishment of this new lodge. Perhaps once it is complete, I could lend my exploration and map-making skills to the lodge.

Grand Lodge

LOL...thanks for that!

Grand Lodge

I believe there is a bloodline or race trait called 'Blood of Dragons' in the Ultimate Campaign book. Could always use that as reason for following Apsu.

Grand Lodge

You are right. Not all faction traits, or any other traits for that matter, are created equal, and some are quite inferior compared to others. But, I sometimes take them if it fits the character concept, or just to tie them to the faction a little more than your average member. It's not always about the benefits...sometimes it is just for fun or role-playing opportunities :)

Grand Lodge

Not sure if this is the place to pose this question, but what if you were in a game, and the GM has yet to send you a PFS sheet, even though it has been weeks, and has not responded to requests for the sheet. Do I just go on as if it never happened, as I will have no proof I was ever in it? Hate to think I spent 5 hours, with 3 PC deaths by the end, and nothing to show for it.

Grand Lodge

Unfortunately, treachery seems to be becoming more commonplace. It is a shame that this continues to distract us from the more pressing concerns facing the society.

Grand Lodge

Ok. Thank you!

Grand Lodge

Hello. In the additional resources section, it says that Heritages and Traits from pages 21-23 are legal, but farther down it says Variant Aasimar abilities are not legal. Does this mean the alternate skill mods and spell-like abilities listed under the heritages are not legal, and we should use the default abilities listed for Aasimar?

Grand Lodge

I was looking at posts and the additional resources section, and it was mentioned that the spells/additional abilities listed in the final paragraph of most diety descriptions are not legal. Why? They aren't overpowering or ridiculous compared to some of the materials that are allowed, so I was just curious about the thinking on this. Thanks!

While I love the setting overall, as it really does allow you to play just about anything you can think of, some of the nations are so "strange" or far different from their next door neighbors, I sometimes find it difficult to believe that some of them even exist side-by-side, or exist at all. Don't know how else to say it.
