Darn. If it was 1st Edition, I'd actually consider this. Unless you guys would be open to that idea. Dotting anyway.

Do I still have time to put in a submission? This seems interesting.

Question, what about Oracles? How are they regarded?

Dotting for interest. I'll see what I come up with.

Your post(s), Zal, Zaeta. Try and get them in by week's end.

Yoriko is a fine choice! She should do well for you guys, and is another pretty lady as well. XD

Yoriko is the Warpriest.

Thanks for the heads up, Zaeta. Best of luck with your brother!

That Diplomacy check. Top notch! XD

So NPC choice time. I want all three of you to discuss together and come to a consensus. Names and class are below (in the order I introduced them in), with spoiler-free player-safe statblocks available on request. Remember that ideally, the NPCs will be temporary on a per mission basis. Anytime between outings, you guys can switch whom is with you, at least until we get a fourth player. You can also send them back to the guild at anytime during a mission, if you decide you don't want them any further.

I have adjusted each of them to match your guys' average levels relatively fairly. Some will seem slightly stronger, others slightly weaker, but none will destabilize the party's encounters in any significant fashion, and as a whole, you guys will be better equipped and stronger over the long run. Each one covers some of the party's missing areas, so even if something seems like a double up, chances are, they've got something that the trio of you currently don't have. They all will level alongside you guys, but will be outpaced by you.

Not listed are Marsailles and Estelle, but with a strong enough Diplomacy check (DC 20), they can be convinced. They will destabilize things a bit, Marsailles moreso than Estelle, hence why they aren't defaults.

Choice 1: Titania, Paladin 3

Choice 2: Mikaiela, Oracle 5 (comes with a single Skeletal Wolf)

Choice 3: Roland, Barbarian 5

Choice 4: Norme, Summoner 5 (comes with an Eidolon)

Choice 5: Yoriko, Warpriest 5

Choice 6: Trick, Bard 5

Choice 7: Andreas, Rogue 5

Character information on each, I'd rather you guys find out ICly, but if you want, ask away, and I can share it here as well.

Alright, we're all set to continue. I have a few potential players that may join.

As to the current events: Whoa there, Davian, we haven't even gotten going yet! XD

Okay, thanks for the update! You won't mind if we keep going then without your posts? Sounds good. Thanks for the heads up there.

Alright, let's advance so that we can get you back in. Posting today, will start working on it.

We'll see what happens. In the meantime, there will be an NPC ally to cover you guys. Unless you have a specific NPC request, likely you will receive someone geared toward the role of melee support.

Alright, Cara will be officially dropped for lack of activity. I'll reopen recruitment to get one more. I want the rest of you to participate in that process however, and give your take on any character you think would be a good fit.

I will resume my posting today, though the narrative will move on without Cara, and will open up to allow a new member.

For your next mission, with Cara's absence, you will have an NPC with you temporarily.

Alright, bumping this Recruitment thread! I am ready to accept one more character into the group, as one of us has dropped.

The character that has left was a Brawler, but don't let that influence your ideas. I'm looking for good characters, and less for a specific mechanical setup.

All prior entrants, you can revise your characters or make new ones to submit for consideration, and I'll ask my remaining players to also make a consensus on whom they want to see join.

Thanks for any interest!

More RP is fine. If you guys leave in the morning, that is fine too.

I see. Well, I already pushed the next story mission on to you guys. Investigating the interest point outside of town. I'm a little hesitant to railroad however, as it goes against my style, and Cara and Zaeta seemed like they'd be doing some personal development, and there's always a need for room for that stuff.

If you guys would prefer me to hard press you guys into certain missions, I'll write it up so that you guys go, but I've already stepped on toes with regards to "our way, your way," and I've no desire to repeat that debacle. A Chaotic party won't thrive in a Lawful town, so I do feel things will open up in Itrilia, which is more Chaotic.

I also feel a little trapped as far as writing lore content goes, since there's zero communication with me before characters are being injected into existing backstory elements and having all kinds of connections and depth whilst I remain unaware of it until it is written in a post.

Quote:
"I was at your daughters wedding to Lord Remblance a few years ago. You where so kind as to dance with me Lord Irdrick. I have to admit for someone of age, you can dance the legs of any younger man I know"

Stuff like this as an example. Like, seriously. Talk to me first. I am fully willing to work with you guys, but it is my setting, so you need to discuss these details with me ahead of time, so I can write them into the setting.

So apologies for my slower posts as I work out all the little kinks and stuff behind the scenes to make sure everything flows smoothly, and that integration is mostly flawless.

Cara and Zaeta, you have the weekend to post. On Monday, I will unfortunately have to find new players then. If you are done chatting, and awaiting further story content, let me know. I'll write you two back into things.

Thanks.

Hey guys, this weekend was a weekend my parents decided to leave town for a vacation, celebrating their birthdays (both in May), and their anniversary (which is also my Mom's birthday). So I house sat the weekend.

Posts will resume as normal tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for being super patient!

Please, explain what your checks are for, guys. Don't just roll random checks without any context. I will ignore all such checks going forward. Thank you.

EDIT: See Davian's post for a great example of what I am looking for in checks.

Since I've revealed it now, please note, guys, Marcie is immune to mind-affecting effects, and she takes a -3 on her Wisdom based rolls, including Perception and Sense Motive.

Trying to use Diplomacy and Intimidate, or similar items, on her will generally not net huge gains or losses. She will interpret them as she will with her general spacey-ness.

As far as Zal's military ranks, Arenstone makes no distinction. Social status trumps professional status. Always use social titles.

Nobility being in the army is also sort of rare outside of high ranking positions, so Zal is pretty one of a kind. She should use her noble title however as far as her standing compared to others.

Zaeta wrote:

I have a question: How is this nation different than Zero, which you said was also Lawful Neutral?

Slavery is illegal, I know, but other than that, these guys seem very similar to the lawful jerks that Zaeta's family just ran from.

I'm worried that my character isn't compatible with this place. She doesn't do well with overly-controlling. Wondering if you would prefer to get a different character that applied to the game to play in her stead, or that I hang in and do my best to repress her nature and "behave." ... I don't mind if you prefer to choose someone else, promise.

How is it different?

In Zero, all of you sans Davian would be in jail, and for Zal and Zaeta, they'd already be on the market.

Zero's form of order lacks protection and oversight. The government is a collective of powerful crime lords, and all the order is pretty patriarchal and oppressive in general.

Zero's rulers are a mix of Lawful Evil and Lawful Neutral, and rule through fear and control. Arenstone's ruler is Lawful Neutral, and rules by fair and just methods.

It sounds like Zaeta just dislikes law in general. Everywhere not Arenstone, Zero, and Melleau, will sit better with her, as will areas outside of cities. Promise.

As to explain Marcie?

She's an Oracle of Metal with the Shattered Psyche curse and a Wisdom score of 8.

Shattered Psyche: Your mind is crowded with dozens of voices, fragmented snippets of your past lives. You take a –2 penalty on all Intelligence-based skill checks, Wisdom-based skill checks, and concentration checks. You gain a +4 competence bonus on saving throws made against mind-affecting effects. At 5th level, you’re immune to charm effects. At 10th level, you’re immune to compulsion effects. At 15th level, you’re immune to all mind-affecting effects.

So she's very oblivious and can be slightly dumb at times. However, she's so flighty that you could be the most suave Vampire gentleman flirting with her, and she'll completely miss it.

In this case, she missed all the poise and assertiveness in Zal's display, and only saw someone challenging her authority as a Guildmaster (who worships Gorum; yes, the deity who is all about battles and challenges and stuff).

It was a game to her. She just happens to be a character who is practically immune to most of the social arts. I guarantee you Zal will have a lot more success on non-nobles and non-oblivious. Likely, she can, if she's careful, outplay both of them by not directly approaching it. Play the meta mindgames with them and stuff.

I understand where you are coming from. Perhaps I did a poor job of explaining how Arenstone works. I should do better there. I'll admit in rereading, I did see a lot of assumptions from both sides, you and me, which seems to have created a sort of disconnect.

I'll see what I can do to explain how Arenstone functions without revealing large amounts of plot, since the Princess, the Map, and Marcie, are walking plot spoiling machines if I'm not careful.

So let me be upfront right now with some baseline In-Universe Arenstone specific lore that nobility (and most commoners) would know. This should be relevant to your character, and help bring you guys more into the world, thus hopefully giving more knowledge that will avoid these situations.

REMEMBER! You can always make Knowledge Checks to gather a lot of this information. Make them often. Very often. Super often. It's all available behind easy checks.

Now, onto the Arenstone stuff. It's long, so I'll summarize it. The rest will be in the associated Google Doc that hopefully will go up this week.

--

Arenstone is Lawful Neutral to a fault. They have a code of laws instituted and overseen by the current ruling member of the royal family that comprises of 150 individual sections, each with 35 articles within to govern life. They take a neutral stance toward all conflict, and have an incredibly lax, if closely guarded, viewpoint toward everyone. Law and mercantilism receive high priority, and each city is structured to divide social ranks into different districts of residence, with general districts between to facilitate all other necessities of life. Most of the code of laws involves daily living within the nation, and are immutable and strictly enforced.

Arenstone is an Absolute Monarchy. It is a government run by one ruler said to be chosen by Abadar (the primary worshiped deity by over 90% of the nation) to lead in full. As such, the current ruler has complete authority over the realm; with any thought otherwise considered to be blasphemy of Abadar and his commands as deity. However, a qualifying ruler is required to meet some criteria, strictly enforced by Section 7; Article 15 of the code of laws.

1) The ruler chosen worships Abadar truly and faithfully, has a mark on their body signifying his divine blessing, and can hear his voice so clearly as to act as an Apostle in guiding the nation in a fair and just manner, according to Abadar's tenets.

2) The ruler chosen has memorized forward and back all 150 Sections, and the 35 Articles within each section; to be quoted verbatim on demand, and executed daily in a just and fair fashion; and to be enforced and revised when needed at Abadar's dictation.

As we can see, Arenstone is very focused on its codes and structure. A chosen ruler is understood (common knowledge; a DC 0 check that can be made untrained) to have divine authority, not just ruling authority. Hence why things are structured such that the ruler's rule is absolute.

--

Now, knowing the above, a number of social rules have arisen to sort of shape the noble codes, much of it unspoken among nobles, whom simply know it and learn it from birth through their training. This part should be a good read for future Zal encounters (though I highly encourage she remain her own character and not conform unless she would).

Among those codes, a few are followed somewhat religiously.

The one usually taught first to young noble boys and girl is a segment listed in Section 7; Article 15:

1) As the person of highest rank within the domain, no one, sans those of equal rank, may take any customary action at any formal (that is, royally hosted or attended) event unless the current ruler gives them permission first.

2) As the person of highest rank within the domain, no one, sans those of equal rank, gets the first choice of any options presented as per the formal event, and the current ruler always gets to take any customary actions first, at their choice of performance or declination.

--

So those two seem clear, but what do they truly mean? Basically, even among nobles, everyone defers to the ruler until the ruler says otherwise. No one so much as sneezes until the ruler has permitted it, and the ruler gets the first choice of anything that has options. Some examples...

Example 1: A formal ball is hosted at the castle, and the time for dances arises. No one else can dance until the current ruler has had the first dance. The current ruler declining to dance qualifies as them having had the first dance (which they chose to not perform in that instance). If they decide to dance (choosing to perform in this instance), no one else may take a partner until the current ruler has chosen their partner first, and has had their dance. After that first dance is finished, everyone is permitted to take partners and dance as seen fit.

Example 2: The current ruler is hosting public court, or has requested presence of others. Everyone stands until the current ruler has taken their seat, after which, everyone else is expected to take their seat if they have one assigned; not a moment earlier. No one may begin speaking until the current ruler has stated the first words and opens the floor. During proceedings, no one may address another speaking party until the speaking party has finished speaking, or are otherwise given permission by the current ruler to address the speaking party mid speech.

These cover all elements of interaction with the ruler, and the rules for commoners interacting with nobles are very similar, albeit a bit more lax. Next, social faux pas avoidance is taught to nobles who want to learn. Additionally found in Section 7; Article 15:

3) No one must ever turn their back on the current ruler, or another of equal rank. If they do, the current ruler, or other of equal rank, is intended to recognize the insult, and deliver admonishment as appropriate.

This one is tricky, as, "turning one's back," is not to be taken literally. It's an annoyingly vague catch all for disrespectful comments and actions. This clause in particular is why a lot of nobles practice their flattery and conversational skills, so as to abuse the vague nature of it to get their points across without allowing the ruler any ability to admonish them in return.

To insult or belittle people without appearing rude is a refined art, and failure means you've broken the clause. However, excessive flattery or groveling is equally offensive, and will equally break the clause. Thus, nobles have learned to minimize their word counts and check their commentary (often on the fly) in formal proceedings. Such forethought in remarks is paramount, and most nobles have learned how to keep those remarks short and sweet. Rarely is there gratuitous repetition or submission in their speeches to the current ruler.

--

So, seeing the above, how does it all play out? Let's use Lady Zal as an example here, with the throne room scene...

Wait! Before we can even begin to look at the scene, already an issue. All of you spoke without being permitted per say by the Crown-Princess. That said, Jaseonus provided that entry for you, speaking as a servant to the Crown-Princess, so no issues arose, as he was given permission to speak on her behalf as part of his job in bringing your group to her. Now, for Zal's comments...

"Your most majestic Crown-Princess Brione, undisputed and most beloved ruler of Arenstone. I stand before a humble representative of the Noble house of Qlin-Zra. Here as commanded to do your bidding as is my duty and my Honor your majesty."

This came off a little lengthy for a greeting, and is dangerously close to falling into the excessive grovel/flattery aspect, which, in-universe, is considered rude as we saw in Section 7; Article 15. Also, some very odd grammar is used.

"Your most majestic Crown-Princess Brione,"

Who's the 'your' here? Who does Brione belong to?

"I stand before a humble representative of the Noble house of Qlin-Zra."

So, the Crown-Princess herself, is a humble representative of the noble house of Qlin-Zra?

These were both weird, and unintentionally insulting, slip ups. However, they had little actual bearing on Brione's impression of Zal, which was already solidified. At this point, Brione had a Friendly starting attitude toward Zal. The length and delivery of your greeting did impart a hidden -2 penalty on Charisma based checks against Brione, however.

Brione factored in Drow accent and speech patterns as a way to pardon these slips within her own view, so the slips did not change her attitude. Also...

"Here as commanded to do your bidding as is my duty and my Honor your majesty."

This surprised Brione, and was what really destabilized the conversation. Zal is a noble, so her saying this line was very uncanny.

"Remember your station!" Is a phrase used often by superiors talking to inferiors, but in the Arenstone ruling class, its use is less a put down than it would be in, say, Itrilia. Rather, it often serves as a caution against self-effacing and self-elevation in the rigid social structure, so as to avoid being rude. Even though Zal is of a smaller house, this was a display of weakness that would later came back to bite Zal. Brione's reply?

"A humble introduction. Characteristic, but perhaps warranting of caution for it? A smaller house it may be, it is no less influential."

She gave Zal a friendly caution here while replying in a still somewhat flattering manner. Brione knows that flattering comments have the best impact when kept short, and that it is always better to compliment people for their personality and their choices than their physical attributes. So her reply was short, minimized.

She gave a compliment by acknowledging the humble and modest personality (desirable traits that are unfortunately rare among nobles), while making a comment to alert Zal to what is self-effacing commentary that should probably stop so as not to break decorum and appear rude in court (especially in front of commoners). Additionally, the comment acknowledged Brione's own unfamiliarity with House Qlin-Zra, and provided a social cue if Zal really wanted to exploit it.

Unfortunately, Cara made a crude remark.

"Ma'am, Why the hell am I here?"

This remark hit three big points. One, it's a talk back (as we saw above with Clause 3 of Section 7; Article 15). Two, it's asking an incredibly obvious question with an equally obvious answer when viewed from a social ranking standpoint. Three, it showed that Cara did not read Brione's letter of summons, which (and my bad for assuming here, I accept responsability) would obviously include a reason as to why she was there, a reason quickly pointed out by Brione.

"You are here because I demanded so as your ruler! Your treatment toward myself will affect my treatment of you, so remember your station! I will let that remark slide this time out of my own benevolence, but consider yourself warned!"

This remark has a clarification and assertion of the obvious answer ("...I demanded so as your ruler"). There's also the caution again, stated with the verbatim terminology (...remember your station!), as well as the friendly look aside of behavior that would normally demand an admonishment ("I will let that remark slide this time out of my own benevolence..."). She especially let it slide because she knows that not every commoner will be super familiar with court etiquette, so special exceptions must be made. Also, she's still at a Friendly attitude with all of you, and Helpful toward Davian.

She then made her pitch. A task that involves the world being saved by you four, chosen by a collective of individuals (which as a statement is super important and telling, since she has absolute power, but even she consulted with others). She also made known that the public knows nothing of the cataclysm.

She then makes a particular comment.

"That is my task for the four of you, a royal appointment, if not decree! However, I will not send you off without aid. I want you to visit the guild hall of the local Mercenary Guild called Respite."

She did not expect a group of four strangers she called in at (in their point of view) apparent random to just go out on a dangerous mission like this without compensation. So she made clear her compensation.

"I am friends with the Guildmaster, and she owes me a favor. That favor has been called upon, and that is one that she will ensure your success in this task. Take to her guild's many amenities and training; consider it your second home even, until the task is through."

The group of you were given an advance reward of supporting party members, and the protection of a reputable guild throughout the nation. That guild is also wealthy in equipment and funding, and no matter your background, food and board was free of charge. Additionally, she left out a key phrase in all of this. She never stated that what was found be returned to her. So the other part of the reward was implied to be retaining of everything you found while searching for the artifacts.

Now, how did Zal respond?

"Your highness you honor house Qlin-Zra greatly with this task. I will do my utmost for for-full this most solemn duty, even until death as I know my fellows will. For your words are law and all must obey them dread majesty."

Questionable grammar aside (again, she's ignoring that under the pretense of Drow accent), there's more groveling here that is bordering on rude, and is unbecoming of a noble like Zal. Furthermore, that bolded phrase. That phrase, right there. That was where Brione got ticked off. How rude was Zal?

Then, Zaeta asked...

"Begging your pardon, Princess, but what are we to be paid for this task?"

Brione already laid out the payment. Free guild amenities, free food and board, free party support, and retaining of everything you find while searching for the artifacts. All paid upfront, with implication that the Guildmaster may be a source of more rewards due to the "favor" mentioned.

So that made the remark come off as rude to the extreme. Even Davian was mostly on point at interpreting Brione's task.

"We are the apparent 'saviors of the world'. Our ultimate reward is the continuation of the world."

So Zaeta came off as super rude. Brione thus replied, while holding her composure...

"You are now on your first strike. I'd suggest you continue with your task, after which completed, payment will be appropriated."

A remark made with admonishment. A caution as well. Again, she's letting it slide, and there's still another strike left anyway. She's being super benevolent here as per her Friendly attitude toward you guys.

This is where the Oligoi have their input. Deathbone gets Akrisa to stand down by reminding her of how Brione similarly pardoned her despite Akrisa's attempt at assassinating her. Brione complimented them, but also cautioned them to remember their duties. Time to talk was later.

Zal again here.

"I must humbly beg forgiveness for my companions your highness. Sometimes the shock of being in the presences of royalty can overwhelm the mind a little. I am sore this was the case in this instance. I shall be having words with them once we leave."

Now this remark was good. Depending on tone, it can come off multiple ways, and a little social rank reminder never hurt anyone. Zal salvages some of her noble standing with this remark.

"Before we go your highness can I suggest we take with us, A letter of Royal warrant signed and sealed by yourself with travel papers stating we are on official crown business of the highest order. I ask only because I know how some bureaucrats and officials have deaf ears to those who just state they are on official business. They need to see evidence to clear the way my most illustrious monarch."

This request is pretty stark. As we saw earlier, the ruler's word is basically absolute as it is backed by divine authority. You will never need papers, according to Arenstone's own code of laws. Additionally, some minor grovel at the end that was entirely unneeded.

"You won't need papers of any kind. If anyone wants to cause trouble, direct them to me."

"Now get going! You're keeping the Guildmaster waiting, and belaying my own important civil duties! Out!"

Brione had already inferred and recommended you get a move on earlier. Nobles typically understand the limited time in a day a ruler has to finish their duties. More of the minimization mindset. At this point, Zaeta and Cara were already heading off, and Davian was going to follow suit shortly, so Zal was taking extra time to secure items she would not need by Arenstone's laws.

I take responsibility for not being more clear on those laws to the not needing papers part. It is something Zal would've known, and would've greatly influenced the interaction I am sure.

This moronic child had just disrespected a Nobel in front of the whole court.

This thought also; considering Zal spent most of her time borderline being rude and disrespectful to Brione, I found it ironic in hindsight. Another showing of my lack of communication, however. I believe Zaeta also had a statement in one of her thoughts about "threatening to kill". Never was a threat actually made, verbal or otherwise.

So a lot of handles at play here. I need to do a better job, I admit that. I will stress, however, all of you. Use your Knowledge, Perception, and Sense Motive skills. Use them often. I will literally throw information at you guys for the lowest of DCs.

Most common Arenstone Knowledge checks are DC 0 checks that can be made untrained due to the presence of libraries. The Guild has a fully furnished library on the second floor to use for free as a member of the Guild by royal order. If you are trained, add +2 to your checks when using the library.

--

Wow, this was long. This was supposed to be a short summary too. I am in the process of writing full setting detail summaries minus GM notes and spoilers, so this way, you guys can have reference material. Writing a player guide is long though. I only covered a small amount above, but there's tons more still. Bear with me, okay? Thank you.

Use the Discord too. I can answer any question within minutes, at any time during the day. It's an invaluable tool.

I'll do better to improve my conveyance of setting information as needed for characters. I apologize for where I dropped the ball, and ask you please understand those areas as covered above.

Also, Zal is just running into the wrong types to try and Intimidate. XD

I'd recommend (this is just my opinion) Sense Motive / Knowledge checks to get some info before willy nilly trying to bully or browbeat someone into deference or respect.

Especially at a social level, a lot of people will respond differently depending on their own uniqueness.

Well, we'll see. XD

Marcie was pushed quicker than I expected. She's usually super tolerant too.

Zal is Shaken for 36 seconds (1 round plus 5 for exceeding DC by 25).

Also, all of you (Zal particularly) need to allow time for characters to react. I don't like bunching up tons of s+!# in one post. Slow. The. Hell. Down. Thank you.

So, you didn't answer my question. What is the Intimidate check for?

Is it to demoralize Marcie?

Is it to coerce Marcie?

Is it to influence Marcie's attitude?

Something else?

https://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/intimidate/

Everyone, it is of critical importance that you list a reason for making any check that I did not ask for. Do not forget to provide a reason.

Now, my question. Why is Zal making an Intimidate check? What is she doing that requires one?

Posted! Ooh!

XD It's not a game until the Cleric has every lady wanting him! XD

Another thing, everyone.

When you're initiating a check that I did not list in a post, please format it with what exactly the check is for. i.e...

Perception Check (to see if anything stands out in the room): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19

This way, I know what the check is for (useful with all the Diplomacy rolls being thrown around).

[code][dice=Skill Check (what is to be accomplished by the check)][/dice][/code]

Posted. Inside the Guild Hall now.

That's good! She's the second character I've had go through this setting that was nobility (the first being the runaway rebellious daughter of Itrilia's King Olverk who eventually learned to embrace her royal status).

Also, Investigators practically exist to really think things over. Zal will probably save your party a few times. XD

Perhaps. It's also an Arenstone thing.

What Zal did would actually go over very well in Melleau and Itrilia, as Queen Anwen and King Olverk both have dispositions very receptive to it (one is super humble and soft, while the other is a tyrant who enjoys trite platitude and suck ups groveling before him).

Most of the other Arenstone nobles aren't as bold and blunt as Zal was. They typically speak only when asked to do so, at least while the Crown-Princess holds the floor, and typically avoid backtalk outside of whispers and spells in tongues the princess doesn't know. Backroom plotting is huge.

Lesser houses are the most likely to try and do what Zal did. A lot of extra humbling of themselves, among other things.

Oh well, shaky first steps aside, once you guys are ready to head over to the guild hall, I'll get my next post rolling.

She did like Davian. Those aced Diplomacy checks tho. She has a solid opinion of him.

She was more insulted that the assumption of payment was not taken, and that a question of it had to be asked.

It is a show of [the Princess'] immaturity, more than anything.

As to internal thoughts versus speech:

Anything in bold is presumed to be spoken. Anything in italics is presumed to be internal monologuing that is unspoken. bold and italics will be spoken whispers and other closely guarded or quiet speech.

If your characters have internal thoughts, format them accordingly, so I know what is and is not made a comment. Also, remember your "quotation marks" for dialogue.

Out of four prior groups I ran through this campaign (all live tables), your group is the first that interacted with the princess in this fashion. XD

A nice bunch. Bit rude, but nice overall. XD

And a post of replies to Zaeta's latest question. Good thing they all made their saves! XD

Posted! The task has been given!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, she has a few days to respond. I'm super lenient on the matter of players not posting, having been involved in things where I was the person not posting. Stuff happens. That said, it's almost the weekend. I will move us forward absolutely on Monday, whether we have a Cara post or not.

That gives the entire weekend, so should be plenty of time to see a post. In the meantime, I'm finishing up a lengthy Arenstone writeup that I've been editing to account for some cool backstory nods that a couple of you guys have (having origins stemming from Arenstone itself).

I really enjoy the backstories for the characters, let me say that again. Amazing reading, and I cannot wait to incorporate all of it into the lore of the setting. I'd like to set up something where each of you gets like, a personal arc that the four of you partake in, as a sort of team building story arc.

Dat nobility display! XD

Perfectly in line with how nobles interact with royals. I love it!

Technically, everyone was supposed to be together at the start, but I suppose we can do some stuff to get everyone to the table.

Unless I am misinterpreting your observation, Davian and Zal did their thing table wise, and my post's wording implies the butler shows up after the table event.

Zal, that man is Davian! I'll let him handle the Perception. That means Davian will determine what is spied by that 17.

Yup, the Discord is just for chatting. Since I do a lot of stuff away from the computer, I can't always be on the forums here to answer questions and stuff. However, through my phone, I can access Discord at any given moment, so you can get replies very fast compared to the forum if it comes to questions and stuff.

First gameplay post is up, and should be some good setup for all of us.

I encourage all of you to get in the Discord channel when you can. Again, I'll be able to get instant replies to you. First gameplay posts will be up tomorrow, as well as documents concerning Elssel and Arenstone as a whole.

This is the Discussion thread! Talk about the Campaign and ask me questions here, as well as discuss your characters and other stuff. General OOC chatter.
