"Well, yes, as Farzin and Papayo mentioned, it does seem to have been a akizendri protean. Nasty creatures for scholars and academics alike. They ruin text and like to cause mischief to them. I'm glad we were able to get rid of that thing."

"It's worth noting that it may also have set up some more mundane problems at the school. I think a few of the things were actually possible pranks being played. WEll, expect for the bathroom. Hopefully Flint's taken care of THAT one...."

"Clearly that's not entirely accurate and extremely confusing. You can imagine there are other places that exist, and in those other places, things don't work the same way as they do here. Sometimes you can access these points and travel much faster than normal, for example. It shows that the way dimensions work here doesn't necessarily hold in other places."

Biago takes a look with a critical eye a the statues trying to understand them.

He begins to ramble on about what he finds.

"I don't think these are actually creatures. Maybe I can interfere with their mechanisms. "

Biago takes a look at the room.

Biago maintains his spell, and the effect reaches out to 15' now.

He then gestures arcanely and mumbles some words as two glowing missiles fly from his hand to strike the creature.

Biago sustains his spell and the protective ward expands around his teammates.

He then gestures and decides to bring more lightning down on it.

electric arc: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8

Biago gestures and speaks some arcane words and a field emanates 5' from him. He then moves closer to the other Pathfinders.

All allies within 5' of Biago have a +1 status bonus to AC

Cast protective ward and move.

"What the?????"

Action 1 - recall knowledge: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

Action 2 & 3 Telekentic projectile: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

and dicebot gets it's revenge.

Baigo wonders if the obvious (or not) will work here.

"Who are you?" he whisipers.

"While sometimes things are magical and strange, sometimes ther is a perfectly logical explanation for things. I wouldn't doubt this is one of those times!"

Biago foregoes anything magical at the moment and looks for a more mundane solution.

Biago tries hard to stifle a chuckle, fails, and it turns into a full-on guffaw. He very nearly falls over laughing at Flint's predicament.

He looks at Berry. "Hahahaha. He.... Hahahaha Has a plumbing issue."

"well that's certainly strange. I am not big on thinking things here are haunted. There must be another reason."

"I've always been one for the library! Who knows what you'll find there. Let's head there. Might be good information!"

"Should I start making comments about Dwarves politeness? I'm sure that's just construction too."

Biago tries to get around in the shed to look around at things.

"This? Why did you give this to us?" Biago asks pointing to the amulet. "It is QUITE dangerous to give someone an item and telling them when it will help or protect them, but in reality it does nothing. Are you TRYING to kill us?"

"Mom always said these things could be something more than you think. We should be on guard. But, um, J? If these have been happening for so long, why has it taken so long for someone to be assigned to investigate this?"

A halfing runs up to the group.

"Am I late? I'm always late.... sorry. I really should look into a way to get faster!"

The halfling is out of breath, clearly having run up to the Academy. He's dressed in very non-descript clothes. They're very brown, kind of like dirt, but not dirty; just colored that way.

He looks and sees some old friends and waves. "Hello! It's good to see you again! Have you been well? "

Being Dotastic while I get my stuff together. I think I've adventured with several of you before.

"Thanks all! I am off back to Avistan to be closer to home. I like travelling, but I get homesick!"

As he says that he looks and sees the creature crumble. He ceases to maintain his spell and drops his hands.

"Oh! Is it over? Oh dear, I don't feel that I was much help against this thing. Good thing our friend the dragon showed up! So what do we think? Are these ley lines actually safe?"

Seeing how everyone (mostly) has moved away, Biago moves up and continues to concentrate on his spell to extend it.

Stride, stride, Maintain spell.

Biago wonders if he knows anything else about this creature, especially regarding any special interactions with magic.

"I...... think we succeeded?" Biago somewhat whispers his part question part statement to the group. "I don't want to offend them.. but should we just go now?"

"hmmm. I know I found these things once before. Surely there must be something I know...."

"Oh that's interesting, I encountered the same thing! I can plant the sapling!"

"EWWWW. YUCK! I'd better be careful of this place will swallow little old me up!"

"oh, well that wasn't so bad, was it? I think we're on the right track here!"

Biago takes a look.

Looking around, and not seeing any danger, Biago says "Here let me take a look at that."

"Oh! These are Qilin. I've never seen one before! They respect the grass so much, they won't even walk on it! But they should speak common and Tien, even if they are hiding their real form . So we should be able to talk to them."

I'll happily take the wrong information for crit failing this check. This is one of my favorite parts of 2e.

Biago takes a step forward and casts another electric ARC against the two creatures ahead of him attacking Zhao Fen.

He then casts another electric arc on the creature.

He then gestures casts a spell at the thing that damaged him.

Biago strides three times to try to get closer.

"I don't think I ever expected to have a peaceful encounter with a dragon! That was amazing. I wonder if mother ever met a dragon and talked to it? I'm okay with going to any location next."
