Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan had looked on the situation with a slight smile, this particular batch of miscreants seem much more competent than they first seemed. with that, he pulls himself from the wall where he had kept watch and says, "I will aid my kin, so do not fret Saul, this place will be a safe one yet."

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan goes about the work of cleaning up quietly and without complaints. He had done much menial work while in the forests of his home and wouldn't let others see his discomfort. Besides an Elf never lets others see his discomfort.

Once things have been organized and customers have once again come into the Goblin's Halls, Beriadan mostly uses his keen elven sight and sharp perception to make sure no cheating goes on around the gambling floor.

Perception 19

Male Elf Ranger 1

"I am Beriadan, tracker and swordsman." the elven ranger says as he takes the dwarf's meaty hand in his own then turning to Sevegny, he says "It is always an honor to meet someone else who follows Calistria's teachings. I too am a believer in the Lady of Revenge and am most pleased to meet you Lady."

Male Elf Ranger 1

"I can tell you my dwarven friend, I'm not one for mopping. Now if we are all ready to depart, I will just add that if things go smoothly, maybe it will be better to let the man go and have someone follow him back to his boss. If things DO go bad, I'll be close by with my blade ready to help deal with the situation." with that, Beriadan falls in line with the others as they prepare to head for the meet sight.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan thought about Saul's offer for a moment as he looked to the others joined here. The group was certainly an odd collection of people and it was true that he had yet to encounter someone who could help to explain the sense of foreboding that his superiors had felt. However, if he was gonna find out what was going on with this "Blot", then he would need to make a few allies in the city, and this group seemed just as good, if not better than anyone he would be able to find in this crook-infested city. "I'll take your offer. My elven senses and blade are here to help."

Male Elf Ranger 1

Having been following along, Beriadan simply nods to Saul's request as he takes a seat at the table and takes a glass of the red wine. Though he is one of the forest, he isn't one to deny his elven nature a touch of wine, even if it IS inferior human stock.

Male Elf Ranger 1

"Your threats are merely idle ones. Seeing as we have you trussed up and without your gear, I would be cautious when it comes to what you say. I am an elf of my word when I say that I will do you no more harm as long as you behave, but I can't guarantee the same from my dwarven friend here. Now why don't you tell us what you know?" With that, Beriadan simply stands over the bound wizard as they try to get some information from him and his accomplices.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan stands watch over the entire proceedings as Kap goes about identifying the items. As the dwarf makes his comment abotu slitting throats, the elven ranger says "Now, now, no need for any more killing today. As it was, the worst they did to us was a few bruises. We got them tied up, I say lets see what they know. Hey Kap! Might be better to do as Saul suggests and take that stuff into one of the back rooms before the Constable's Men come in to have a look."

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan nods his head in confirmation of the dwarf's words as he pulls his dagger from the wood of the podium and replaces it in the boot sheath kept in his left boot. Then, as he sheathes his rapier, the elven ranger continues "Fortunately for you, 'the wench' and 'her lover boy', as the dwarf calls them, seem to be the leaders of this raiding group, so you might be able to learn much from them." With the action over, Beriadan lets his heart rate drop to normal as he composes himself and acts as a man who didn't care what outcome occurred from the amatuerish assault.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan smirks as his eyes focus, first seeing blurs of color, then a more focused image of the combat in front of him. Seeing he was a bit to the left of where he wanted to be, he nonetheless moves towards the podium and draws his dagger from his boot as he moves. Let's see how determined they are to steal this gold once a bit of blood has been shed. Beriadan thinks as he lets his dagger fly towards the goateed man. However, Beriadan mumbles an elven curse as his dagger embeds itself into the wooden post of the podium.

ranged Attack 8

Moving to E,12 and drwaing dagger as part of move action, then throwing the dagger at the bearded spellcaster.

Beriaden, with the successful Acrobatics role that's actually only 1 move action. Would you like to do something else?

Any remaining action he would use to go defensive, which means he won't be hitting anyone, but his armor class should be better in case anyone should come to attack him. He isn't the type to blindly swing his sword.

Knowing that this is a heist, Beriadan figures that someone would go for the chest in the center of the room. Therefore, even in his blinded condition, the elf's memory and keen reflexes allows him to make his way into the room without any difficulty as he seems to instinctually deflects off of anyone he might run into and bound over anyone he may trip over, moving thirty feet to the east (to J,11).

Acrobatics 19

Forgot to subtract the 4 for being blinded, corrected now

As the severity of the situation hits home, Beriadan's mind races as he figures out what to do. Knowing most of his new "friends" to be at his back, he draws his rapier and takes up a defensive stance with his rapier point facing the center of the room. I hope this is just temporary, or this will be a lot more difficult Beriadan thinks as he begins to listen for any movement that could possibly be threatening.

Beriadan, finished with gambling, simply does his best to avoid running into people in the crowded gambling hall. Fortunately, his reflexes make that a rather simple task and helped him to avoid a stray punch from one of the brawlers that started a fight over a bad hand.

Simply observing how the night was progressing, the elven ranger works his way through the crowd to meet up with Kap and Thrumparr as they work their way towards Gornak. "A rowdy bunch, these humans. I'm starting to think that maybe this place wasn't the best place to look for anyone interested in that haze in the sky." Beriadan's blue eyes continue to scan the area as the three of them make their way towards the brawny bard.

Having already gone to exchange his 2 silver pieces, Beriadan simply has a calm smile as he puts it all down on one game. Then, as the dice are rolled, Beriadan looks on with disinterest until the dice have stopped moving. Looking on with shock, the elven ranger sees that he had actually won a small amount of coin. However, still not a fan of the human style of gambling, he leaves the table, satisfied with his achievement.

Charisma Check 16

Beriadan, also not one to waste money, decides that he might as well try his hand, though he is loath to actually gamble away too much on it, especially now that he knows that nothing more than a few coin will be at risk at this event. Therefore, he will sign his name when his copy of the contract reaches him and then he will say, "Let's see what these human games of chance have in store for us, shall we?"

With that, Beriadan will head towards the exchange counter and trade in a meager 2 silver to spend on this Tournament.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan, loath to leave his new friend, follows after Kap as he heads towards the dwarf and half-orc. Simply remaining quite for not, the elven ranger holds back a laugh as he hears the half-orc make his misinformed statement. Then in response, Beriadan says, "I would trust my friend in his words. For that surely isn't a goblin. If you want to get a good look at a goblin, you have but to step outside to see a rather massive, bronze version of one." Then Beriadan will extend his hand in greeting as he says, "The name is Beriadan, tracker and swordsman."

Male Elf Ranger 1

As Beriadan watches Saul on stage, he smirks a bit. The owner is a good showman at least. then hearing the snarls and hisses, Beriadan's gaze travels to the ceiling, where the stranger creature was caged. What by Calistria's whip is that? As if hoping to get an answer to his question, Beriadan simply looks at Kap who seemed to be studying the caged creature.

Beriadan keeps an eye on the situation brewing between the dwarf and the half-orc as he says [Elven]"I agree, it has been too long since I have even come in contact with another of my kind. It has been 100 years since I last stepped foot in our home land. I fear living among the shorter lived races may have dulled my knowledge of current events. What news can you tell me of Kyonin? I was but a child when I was forced to leave...[/Elven] Beriadan's voice trails off at the last sentence, as if remembering something he had thought forgotten.

Then he simply smiles a bit as he notices that a Mwangi seemed to have diffused the situation between the two rather stubborn looking individuals. While Beriadan prided himself on his swordsmanship, he wasn't the type who liked to use it when he didn't need to, and judging from the type and caste of humans around him, if a fight broke out among those two, it would surely drag in the others who were frequenting this place.

[Elven]"I live around these parts granted though, it isn't in the city itself. I am here in search of a mage that can tell me more about that thing the city-dwellers call 'the Blot'. And though I do indeed consider myself Forlorn, I remember well the spiraling architecture of Kyonin as well as the great deeds of our people. It is much more exquisite than the buildings of this place, though to tell the truth, I feel this city is considered a stain, even by human standards."[Elven] The Elf gives a brief elven cheers to Kap before taking a short sip from his ale and continuing, [Elven]"What brings you here? Come to investigate the Blot as well? Must be a serious concern indeed if the Queen has taken an interest in this phenomenon.[Elven]

Beriadan takes a drink from the filth that this place calls alcohol as he scans the room once more. Still not finding any Cyphermages among the crowd, Beriadan does note the presence of some interesting humans. One, a Garundi possibly, seems as uncomfortable here as the elven ranger felt, and another, a fairly attractive woman, who seemed to have more than a passing interest in women.

Turning back to his drink, he thinks back to what had led him to this place. That haze in the sky that hung over the cesspool called Riddleport and the tournament that might attract some of the more intellectuals of this place. This Blot was nothing but trouble, and Beriadan was gonna get to the bottom of this trouble.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan, seeing the other elf, weaves through the crowd, his body seemingly bending around the bodies that were already crowding the tables and aisles of the game floor. As Kap places his bet, the elven ranger stops next to him and says <Elven>"Just don't fall for the tricks that a city like this can play on the unsuspecting, these aren't the games of Kyonin.<Elven>

Beriadan is decked out in brown, studded leather and his pale hair is held back in a feathered strap of leather. Around his shoulders is a well cared for green cloak and at his hip rests en elegant rapier. The design of his armor and cut of his clothes marks him as having lived outside of Kyonin for quite sometime, making him one of the Forlorn.

He doesn't spend much time at Kap's side, heading for the bar and ordering an ale which he drinks more to pass the time than to enjoy the taste of the watered down drink.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Beriadan, still feeling ill at ease in the urban setting, enters the gambling hall with a smooth, graceful stride. His hawkish eyes take in the scene and narrow in disgust at the blatant human debauchery he saw before him. Place any of these patrons in the wild and see how they handled themselves then, probably choke on their useless coins.

Beriadan smirks a bit at the thought as he continues into the room, weaving among the crowd as he keeps an eye out for anyone that could match the image of a mage. His evident elven features garner a few looks and whispers from the people he passes, but he pays them no heed as he continues to wander through the hall.

Here is Beriadan, the elven ranger for your perusal. He should be pretty much finished, just got to add a detail or two here and there.
