We just finished the first book last Friday and the battle with Vreeg took about 15 rounds, not including an earlier encounter when he cast darkness on the players in the bedroom next door.
Now I'm off for two sessions so I can recharge, prepare for the next book, and play a Half-Orc druid in a one-shot.

My son and I are watching Avatar as I write this and I mentioned this thread. He said his favorite hybrid on Avatar is the Turtle-Duck. :)
Your HeroClix suggestions got me to thinking about modifying my own collection.
Harley Quinn would make a good Jolistina after you remove the bomb in her hand and replace it with a skull.
The non-flying Parademon would also make a good alternative to the Red Mantis fig.
T.O. Morrow for Doctor Davaulus.

I'm starting to buy and paint minis for the AP, and would like to hear from those of you out there who do the same.
Generic single charater minis are, to me, fairly easy - use a rogue for Graeden, female bard for Trina or necromancer for Rolth. Give someone a unique costume, like Jolistina or Laori, then its a little harder.
For minions like Hell Knights or Korvosan Guards, the challenge is to find three or four similar-looking minis in different poses. You can find skeletons or zombies in multi-packs through several suppliers.
Here's my list of challenging minions and unique characters from CotCC. Please write in with your suggestions.
Minion Groups:
Hell Knights
Korvosan Guards
Gray Maidens
Abdar Clerics
Queen's Physicians
Vampire Spawn
Priests of Urgathoa
Red Mantis Assassins
Various Rashakas
Major Characters:
Sabina Merrin
Queen Ileosa
Jolistina Susperio (in costume)
Dr. Davaulus
Ramoska Arkminos
Leukodaemon
Lady Adnaisin
Pilts Swastel
Jabbyr
Bahor Arkona
Vimanda Arkona
All I've got at this point is this:
Hell Knights - Reaper's Crimson Knight from Warlord Necropolis team
Gray Maidens - Reaper's Grunts with swords from Warlord Overlord team
Sabiina Merrin - Moraia Warbride from Warlord Overlord
What are you using?

Our method for the perfume shop was to throw a few smokesticks and thunderstones into the shop to clear it, then bust in after most of the people evacuated, yelling "Secret Police! This is a raid!" That's classic!
My players "short-circuited" the entire All the World's Meat adventure last night.
They were very proud that they could get something like this accomplished without having the knock-down-drag out fight.
I like it when my players take unusual approach to a job and succeed in pulling it off. They felt very clever of themselves and I like it when they feel clever. :)
I took my latest batch to Kinko's a few weeks ago. I use them for binding mostly has I have a laser printer at home. I had them print the full color map of Korvosa that came with the guide and there was not a peep about ownership.
If they did ask though, wouldn't showing them the watermark at the bottom of every page be sufficient? About every page of items I buy from Paizo.com has watermarked "Paizo.com Order #, my name, e-mail address and date." I would think showing this security measure would be enough to satisfy issues about ownership.
Sounds like your players want to dump more work on you. I make my players come up with their own contacts and I nerf what I don't like. I haven't had to do that yet (as no one has picked the queen).
Point out to your players the rules on contacts found in UA & DMG2. A contact should be one of three types - information contact, skills contact or social contact. And the "higher" up a contact's social standing, the more difficult it is to see them.
As I mentioned in a prior post, you might want to get a copy of the Guide to Korvosa. Some of my players picked their contacts from this book.

We're going to be starting our first session and building characters using the Alpha rules. (I'm running the game using the Alpha rules and no changes to the Adventure Path. Jason requested this in one of the chats.)
I know I have a wizard from the Academy, a rogue, a fighter (most likely) and an unknown. I'm going to ask the players to come up with their own reasons as it will tie into their history.
I'd like a few suggestions to help out. Any ideas?
Thanks.
You hadn't mentioned the Player's Guide to CotCT pages 14 - 16, which offers players five background ties into Graeden, that can be morphed into many more. I'd suggest starting there.

James Jacobs wrote: You're not! I quite like Tome of Magic, especially the section on Binders. They're really interesting. I've got one player in our CotCT campaign who is playing a Binder. He wrote up his background and it revolves around his powers manifesting while under the "tutelage" of Graeden Lamm. I wasn't sure he could integrate the class with the Korsova setting, but so far, so good!
I've got another who's playing a Hexblade in this campaign. She hasn't provided me with a detailed background, just saying that she's been under the teachings of another HB since her teens. To fit into the game she's LN, walking the line between the "non-good" class requirements and the "non-evil" campaign requirements.

I nerfed all non-core races when we started, but allowed some classes from WoTC's PHB2 and Complete series. All my players are either human or half-elf. We have a knight (city guard), wizard, rogue, binder, and hexblade.
Have you and your players read the CotCT Player's Guide or Guide to Korvosa?
Korvosa isn't Sharn. The vibe I and my players got from the materials is the city's population doesn't brook "weirdness." Your players will start at a disadvantage in many of the adventures that require parlaying.
I'm not suggesting that you can't pull this off, but it will probably require a lot more prep work from you.
I just got the deck on Friday, the same night as our kick-off for CotCT, so all I used the deck for was picking the calling cards and the initial reading with the Dex cards only.
This weekend I practiced with the deck and I see your problem. Two out of the three readings I did last night were fine, but the third was pure jibberish - no cards matched or were opposite. I guess I could look at the player's highest ability or alignment and try to weave this into the reading.
As a solution, I'm thinking that when I do my readings I'll winnow the deck down a bit, perhaps take out five or ten cards that won't provide any details whatsoever. This will boost the odds of the more appropriate cards to come up.
Other than that, I'm not sure what you could do except for prepping the cards by stacking them.
I ran this last Friday, and the way I got around it was to have Zellara tell the players at the first meeting that Graeden still had the deck.
Since the death of her son, Zellara managed to put together an incomplete deck, which she used as calling cards to bring the players together, and for the first reading (the one with the Dex cards only).
I kept the focus of Zellara's speech on seeking justice against Graeden, rather than retrieving the deck. At the end of our first night the players ended by taking the retrieved deck back to her home.

Gotham Gamemaster wrote: As the OP, I don't believe my message was about hostility towards ENWorld. What I was expressing is that as a D&D/ENWorld fan for years, the dawn of Pathfinder has reduced my interest in my once-favorite website dramatically--and I wondered if fellow fans felt the same. I think what you observe over on ENWorld is the same thing anyone who finds they enjoy a D20 game that's not D&D. I personally like True20, and I realize at ENWorld I'm not going to find the same kinda lovin' as I do on the True20 boards.
The majority of the people on ENWorld play D&D, so they have a great interest right now in the anticipation leading up to 4th edition. Anything else is just noise right now. I think if Pathfinder had launched two years ago when things were starting to wind down for 3.5 the reaction and discussion about Pathfinder would have been a lot more animated over there.
So rejoice that Paizo has a great board where you can find people from all over to talk about the Pathfinder game!
