"Them old folk were passed but kept movin' and doing what Jimmy was tellin' them to do, until I smashed this thing. Then they lay down as is proper for th' dead to be doin'." Buck seems somehow smaller than his usual gigantic self, his voice is definitely smaller and weaker than the last time he was at the pizza joint.

After the police leave, Buck will pick up the pieces of the smashed item, using gloves if he has them. He will definitely offer Wu a lift, although the ride might be uncomfortably silent.

AT the pizza joint, Buck says quietly "Jimmy had a piece of hoodoo 'round his neck." he produces a plastic baggy with the broken bits in it. "Didn't figure I'd want to leave it layin' around, even smashed."

His mood seems grim still, and it's clear that the encounter shook him up a bit.

Buck lets go of Jimmy and raises his hands. He nods at James' words. "That's right."

"Uh, uh, bubba, I don' think so." Buck says to Jimmy, grabbing him (either through the window or after opening the door) and dragging him out.

Buck, you can spend a Benny in between attacks, so you could negate being Shaken and only take 1 wound. You could then try and spend your remaining Benny to soak your last wound, although that puts you at 0 bennies (unless the GM allows you to retroactively roll Spirit to unshake instead of spending a Benny). You could also just try to Soak both wounds, if you wanted. Spending one to negate the first Shaken is perhaps the safest bet, as you guarantee you only have one Wound. You could try to tough it out and soak both Wounds, but you only have a d6 vigor so it's unlikely that'll happen and it's not impossible you won't soak any at all, and then be out a Benny for nothing. Thing is, if you roll well you nullify both Wounds for 1 Benny.

I thought their attacks went vs our Parry, not against opposed rolls. If not: Fighting vs 5 1d8 ⇒ 3 wild1d6 ⇒ 2 "Ouch! waiting to see if I'm able to act.

At the end of my last post, Buck was headed for his truck for his bat "just in case" Jim got uppity. I'd say he's probably about halfway there when Jim starts his speaker-rally. Maybe some of the elderzombies move for him and some for Meemaws?

"Shee-oot, might be easier to just up and take Brittney's gran to the hospital. Bet I could lift her -real gentle-like - and get her into my pickup. She don' seem to be objecting to any of these here shenanigans." Buck says. Hearing Jim's truck, he pauses. "Maybe it'll keep til after we have ourselves a conversation with the boss-man." He steps out, heading once more towards his own truck. Just in case the conversation went southerly.

Buck returns to Meemaw's place, any trace of smiling wiped from his face. "Ain't none of these folks right. Somethin's goin' on hehre an' it ain't just your granny got it."

Well, that ain't Texan at all. Buck saunters over to the next resident, repeating the process. His tutor in chemistry had taught him it weren't a real experiment until you did it three times. "Howdy, granpa/grandmaw! How's the garden coming along?" he asks. friendly smile shining in the sun.

Buck frowns and walks out, up to the nearest gardening resident, returning the smile to his face as he does. "Howdy, sir/ma'am, nice day for gardening, isn't it. What're y'all planting this year?" he asks.

Buck steps out of his truck, not noticing either the speakers or the lack of AC, but nods quietly while the others mention them. Upon the others approaching MeeMaw, he keeps an eye out for any additional trouble. No sense letting anything sneak up on the group.

Buck fidgets a bit while eating a few slices. He is clearly having trouble siting around while there was something to be done, but had long ago learned to be a team player. His smile had disappeared, though.

Buck follows her, holding up two fingers when she orders the Hawaiian, to indicate they should make two, smiling all the way.

"Y'all got room for two more, right? I got the bill, as long as we don't go too wild." Buck sits down, his massive frame moving with more grace than it probably should.

Now, Mr. McGee, don't make Bryce angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Buck smiled as he entered, swinging the door wide and strutting as if he were still wearing spurs. He approaches Catalina, smile widening as his eyes narrow in on her. "Day-umm girl, you smell like home. Anyone sittin with you?" he says, sitting down next to her. "Looks like some of our classmates are chowin on a pie, maybe we should invite ourselves to join they-um?" He winks, trying his best to break her away from her phone and out of her slump, pointing at the small group gathering nearby.
